Thanks for this. I have been through xanax withdrawal, and it was like a psychotic episode that went on and on... I got down to 83 lb (I am a 5' 6" woman!) and honestly, it disrupted my life for several years, even after the hallucinations and depression and anxiety had passed. I was eventually prescribed Remeron (mirtazapine) which made me gain 50 lb in 6 months. Xanax can be a life-saver, but it can also be... yeah, Hell.
Anyways, the kind of wierd things I went through are pretty crazy, but what I have to say is that, I HAVE NO ANXIETY AT ALL, and never did, how crazy is that. I was on this medecine for over 14 years and for no reason but addiction at all. Anyone out there, YOU CAN DO IT. It just takes time. Don't wait until your 35 like me to do it. It's crazy what these doctors are prescribing!!! If anyone needs advice or has any questions, email me at ghelin2010@gmail.com.
o you people aint alone at all i been on 6 mgs a day of xanax for like 1 year and a half
i never want to leave my house of do anything it gives you suicidal thoughts horrible depression the withdrawl is a liveing hell soo if anyone addiccted to benzos you are in a liveing hell and the people around you dnt understand what your going thru benzos should not be approved by the crucked fda doctors dnt know how to get you off any doctor dont my heart rate goes up soon as i wake up
Benzo withdrawal is the worst withdrawal you could ever go through. I went cold turkey from taking five 80mg OxyContins a day, and the xanax withdrawal was 100x worse.
-I was questioning things I never used to. Like "What am I? What is life? Why is that wall there? Why is everything the way it is? We're really just aliens, aren't we?" I had minor seizures, I was afraid to leave my room. One time I was scared to see my own MOM because I thought "what is she?" After that, I cried for 12 hours.
If you're in Benzo withdrawal or struggling with benzos (Klonopin, Xanax, Ativan, Z drugs like Ambien, etc.) join us on the *Benzodiazepine (Benzo) Withdrawal Support Group* on Facebook.
I'm going through some bad times right now trying to get off benzos. I can barely remember anything throughout this entire year. Nobody but other people who have went through it understands. People always try to compare it to things they've been through. I've been through heart surgery, having my face go through two car windows, appendix rupturing, and an 8mm kidney stone that's still stuck inside of me. Nothing compares to benzo withdrawls.
I think the fluoride in our water, the aluminum, barium, strontium in chemtrails the chemical additives and preservatives in our food are causing all these mental health disorders. Not to mention alcohol and cigarettes.
Even short usage of benzos leave me feeling pretty messed up for some reason. I use to get prescribed 40 2mg ativan a month or 20 2mg xanax, I just binged on them for like 1-2 weeks and rest of the month not take any until next month. With what I felt after each little binge I can't imagine what it would be like taking it daily for years and then stopping. I eventually stopped after 4 months of doing those binges cause the rebound effects made it not worth it.
good video- i too have been addicted to Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Tranxene, Librium, Serax, Ativan, propoxiphene, codeine, hydrocodone, oxycontin, morphene, Dilauded, fentynil, seconal, touinol and diacetylmorphine. Thanks
Hello Brian - The reason the medical field treat this situation as though they are braindead is the fact of a lawsuit. It is time to research the Warrior lawfirms that take class action suits for all you and your fellow victims. Even Italy sued the Vatican 2006 and won. Research the cases that have been won. Go for it. Msg me I will keep you in my prayers. Love each and all.
@GoddaCreate doctors prescribed them benzos to take daily for years were allowed to alternate 2 weeks on benzos, 2 weeks on opiates each month. Would be so much better for them
Man, I didn't get addicted to benzos cause they make me black out. 20mg of Tamazepem was my first benzo. Then a buch of Ambien. Obviously sleeping pills, but I took them in my room on my bed and woke up naked on my kitchen floor. No shit man, stay off that.
THANKS! I hope I have the courage someday to share the way you have.
I just learned what "benzos" are and that I have been on a cycle of withdrawl and use for YEARS due to athletic pain management (i was always assured that they were not addictive), that lead to depression. Now I look forward to my year of hell to rid myself of the Benzo Cycle. THANK YOU for your help!
Props ppl that dont take benzos will nvr know what an achievement youve had. My brain would feel like it was swelling, id want to be as far away from home as possible and as soon as I left I wanted to be back like nothing else, the nightmares were horrible, and time goes so slow. Beware ppl he speaks the truth (Ativan-Lorazepam,Valium,Xanax, ect) Dr.s are quick to give but no matter how strong willed you think you are think twice. EVEN WITH AN ANXIETY DISORDER Like his or mine or others...
The reason your arms and legs feel heavy is because benzos act as a muscle relaxant to some degree. When you come off them your body starts to compensate and your muscles start working much more than they should. A simple walk to the kitchen can feel like you're doing squats the whole way.
thanks for the vid and good luck.i have been on diazepam 60mg/day for 12 years+100mg/dosulepin. i have a drink problem as well and i buy extra tablets to.i was given this in detox after heroin problem.i also take subutex as on going treatment.its costing me a hell of a lot of cash.i was thinking of detox as its getting to much for my head to cope with..it soon creaps up on you.
Doctors and nurses really don't know as much as youd think.. Its hard to believe they didn't put 2 and 2 together. They take every word in their books as absolute, no room at all. Its ridiculous
Hello i have some questions for you i am 16 years old and lately my life has been pretty not so good. Earlier this year my ocd had been getting worse and worse. I started to u know double check things when i was around 12 but now its getting a little ridiculous. My question is if you know what medication do doctors recomend for OCD becuase i want to research so i know what i am getting myself into.
@Greek8225 thats a very open question, given that there is many veriables to the best medication for you. OCD is an anxiety disorder but benzo's are not i good idea because they will make your life worse in the end, i was addicted to diazepam for a long time. there are many different medications you could be put on like zoloft which is an SSRI (anti-depresent) or somthing like seroquel whitch is an anti-phycotic.
@Greek8225 Hi:) There is an anti-depressant drug called Anafrinil that was targeted specifically for OCD, and now other anti-depressants are used. please be careful, research and consult with a doctor. Some of the newer meds used to treat OCD can cause suicidal thoughts and suicide in people your age.
If your doc prescribes an anti-depressant for your OCD check online to see if it's one of the newer ones, and what precautions to take.
after coming off nitrazepam and valium i pretty much went into psychosis for months on end i turned into a completely different person, anxious, scared, violent, i saw things that wernt there, heard weird things that wernt there had small epileptic fits, one large one which landed me in hospital, they are the most dangerous socially acceptable drugs imo
Im ,by my work,am being expected to come off xanax.i take half a .25 tablet a day and have been on that dosage for over 10 years.Whats ahead of me interms of withdrawl??if i were to just stop taking it,at that dosage what am i going to feel?
i have epilepsy, and my keppra and tegretol have that kind of feeling on me,my anxiety is really bad now, i twitch heaps.. anxious about heaps of things..:S
I've had withdrawal symptoms with alcohol (several times), ativan, and xanax. My experience with all three has been that tapering does not necessarily work. Rather than reducing dosage over the same time intervals, I recommend taking the normal dosage less and less frequently. This is better because you have something to look forward to- a temporary break from the pain.
The only natural cures for the pain? hot baths, and the few moments after climax (sorry if that seems graphic).
The jolts and derealisation are horrible. I wanted to cut my feet off beause they looked like deformed hands! I try not to leave the house when like that. Im no way near stopping benzos. 12 years on em.
Does anybody else in withdrawal feel weird when you take supplements or eat fresh vegetables. Both things make me feel like my brain is being pulled downward and I get real foggy.
i was on xanax for a year, to anyone who reads this and feel you have some anxiety disorders ,if you want to go to a doctor PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ANY BENZOS no matter what the doctor says
you can find a list of benzodiazepines on the net.
i take Lorezapam, not no mor though, i took that , and xanax like .5 mg or something , i cant remember, theykind of worked, but somtimes it gave me more anxiety.. so i just stopped
I took clonazepam for about 8 months. I was prescribed 1mg to help me sleep at night. I started having panic attacks more and more frequently. After some time I started taking .5-1mg to treat my panic attacks ("As needed"). After a few months I got up to 2.5mg a day. I was taking .5mg every few hours. In October I had a psychotic break. Which I believe was from a combination of sleep deprivation and clonazepam withdrawal despite the fact that I was still taking clonazepam. I dropped my dossage.
I was precibed 3mgs of xanax for 5 years the last sept. I was cut off Im a very strong person or so i thought the first 2 days wasn't all that bad but by the 2nd night hell begun it felt like I was a baby again i couldnt take care of myself i had to go to my parents house I had tiny seazers all over my body my anixty was at all time high if the phone rang i would jump outta my skin i felt outta place i couldnt do the simplest things i felt really confused, but 6 months later and I feel great!
Thank you for sharing your story! I was prescribed xanax, got off, went through two months of HORIFFIC withdrawals (long story, still have a hard time talking about it), lost alot of weight and was blamed for an eating disorder, went to E.R. several times and asked doctors if it was the xanax, and they said no & told me to take more! It messed up my heart rate, wore halter monitor, cardiologist said anxiety, second cardiologist diagnosed me with POTS. It's been aweful but I'm slowly recovering.
What a horribe NP, even though most clinicians know very little about withdrawal, they know it can kill you. This woman has no business practicing medicine, disgusting!!!
also I've lost 30 lbs, living off VERY select foods (apple juice sandwiches eggs), no seasoning!, no b vitamins (they did flare me up!, I could prob eat a few more things now but I'm so nervous cuz theres congestion in my head & nose & it never ends, it's super tight in parts of my head which break down & ease up a little everyday now I have taken a little half of ativan a month ago... but none now & it's been 7 months all total.. HOW MUCH LONGER DO I EXPECT, THANKS EVRYONE
anxiety attacks of every kind.. blood pressure high/low...my cns just started acting right.. my head muscle"deflates" (?) a bit every day in different spots but slooow.. does anyone know how long this will go on?! HELP APPRECIATED! thanks. btw I showed this video to my GP here in Seattle but nobody knows what I'm talking about seemingly or agrees yet they do perscribe the pills.. all my tests come back normal!.. :-(
Hey Brian/everyone, I was taken off klonopin 3 mgs (for 7 years) & effexor (5 years) both about 7 months ago over 3 weeks. I went through bad symptoms the first month, but after that I had head pressure lingering for about 4 months...then THE REAL HORROR STARTED!. It's like my brain turned back on again & started trying to work but my circulation was all off & I have had this head congestion/pressure every..single..day...
HEY EVERYONE******. just wanted your thoughts on my benzo situation. I've been taking ativan for about a month an a half now. 2mg's a day/MAX.. Im tapering off. I've delt with some witdrawl symptoms. My question to you whoever reading that has knowledge about this, is about how long would you think my detox would be??? taking in consideration the time i've been on this and at the mg's i've been takin ? email me-saavedraguitar@yahoo.com thanks guys
Don't despair folks! I took 4mg of Klonopin daily for 9 straight years and then spent 7 months doing a Valium crossover taper. It was really, really rough at first, but my withdrawal steadily got better and better over time, and now that I have been off of benzos for 2 and a half years, almost every single trace of that experience is gone and life is so much better now. I can feel again and am no longer a slave to chemicals. Sometimes I actually even forget it ever happened! So don't give up!
I am just beginng to reduce from 3.0mg pm to 2.5 and thanks for posting this video. Xanax was prescribed about 10 years ago along with other psych meds for bi-polar. I have dumped all but the Xanax. That it has a smaller half-life is not really a benifit I dont think.
i was taking 5-8mg's a day and i been tapering off for the last 5 months, i been dependent on it for 3 years and i tapered down to 1mg per week, i should be completely clean of benzos within the next 2 months and i can't wait, it is the most horrible and hardest thing i problably every had to do in my life but i found it to be easier if i surround myself with things that bring me comfort and make sure i keep my goals in sight no matter what...
im familiar with the severe withdrawal, no food or sleep, the electric jolts,,,,I was in withdrawal for months,,,I wrecked my car,,,, lost my job,,,, lost my life,,,,it ruined my entire life
SSRI withdrawals suck. I was forced to quit cold turkey on an SSRI because the doctor decided he wouldn't give me refills any more. I got "brain zaps" and random emotional extremes, like i would be happy and doing something and suddenly I would start to cry for a few seconds and then it would just go away.
@guest2424 Ye, the SSRI family are very dangerous as well as the benzos. Doctors should strung up on wires for what they inflict on "clients". Experimental test subjects or victims is a better term.
I hope you are doing well now. All the best. Contact me if you wish.
I take 8 mg xanax a day and couldnt get it for a few weeks and almost died in my girlfriends arms serious shit if you want to get off benzo's then tapper your way off NEVER QUIT COLD TURKEY
Hi Brian. I last took BD's 8 months ago, I was using 50-60 mg of Diazepam a day. I did a hospital detox and was in for 7 weeks. I felt awful, high anxiety, sweats, muscle pain but by far the most awful was the psychological pain and frustration. It took me about 12 weeks until I was feeling anything like normal. It is hell but you CAN do it. The feeling however bad it is will NOT last forever. Exercise (even if you feel you can't), stretch, (yoga is good) and have a massage once a week. Peace.
Your symptoms remind me of what I went through when I was experience DTs from alcohol withdrawal. I also had that sensation of bugs on my skin, I couldn't sleep, I puked up blood and there was blood in my stool. I couldn't keep anything down and I felt immense anxiety and depression. I also shook terribly and would sweat profusely. I'm now on my second day of taking Lorazepam, and so far it's been working great and my doses are now decreasing. Thanks for sharing, your experience seemed hellish.
I knew Ativan was addictive but abused it for years anyway. Getting off a Benzo is HELL....if there ever is an actual HELL...it just might be Benzo withdrawl. I'm off it for 6 months....still think about going back on it. It's the ultimate paradox...extremely effective/reliable but if you stop taking it you get the opposite rebound effect.....crazy, crazy stuff. Be strong....you can overcome it...
It took me a while to get normal after stopping 2-3mg of Klonopin a day. You can get it off the internet with no problem. I had horrible muscle jolts, two seizures while trying to sleep, etc.
I now only take 1mg of Ativan no more than every 24hrs and have been able to stop with no problems other than minor sleep issues but YES! Benzo's are horrible when abused and even taken as directed.
Oh, god. I totally understand and get it. It's a nightmare. :( Hugs to you!
I've been on Ativan for over 10 years with lousy "success" tapering off. OMG. After much research I found the Ashton Method. Have you hear of it? I had to nearly beat it into my doctor's head. It is a tapering off method using Valium. I know that sounds weird but It's the only proven researched method with success.
I've been doing this for 2 weeks and have relief. Anybody here please at least Google it.
It's not really your body, but your brain that's reacting to withdrawal. Ativan/Lorazepam takes the place (does a better job) of the naturally occurring GABA (relaxing) chemical neuro-receptor. After a while, the brain stops making GABA all together, as it doesn't have to. But try to stop (even after a 6 day taper for seizures), and you're left feeling like a feral cat on crack in traffic! It then takes 6 TO 18 MONTHS for your brain to pump GABA normally.
@laaxe I understand what you said, matter of fact you are on point when you talk about the natural GABA the brain produces and when drugs are taken the brain stops producing. Same goes for an opiate addiction. The brain will stop producing ENDORPHINS. My question is "How long does a Benzo remain in the sysyem"
I understand it takes 6-18 months as you said, for the brain to start pumping GABA, but do you know how long " Benzo's" show up in a drug screen? Appreciate it if you know the answer.
I was on ativan and tried to quit after 6 months and started getting horrible anxiety and panic attacks. I had SEVERAL doctors tell me there was no way I was having withdrawls after 6 months. That has always bothered me to this day. Well after almost a year of withdrawls after completing a 2 month taper things got back to 90% normal. That year was the worst year of my life and conemplated suicide several times. That was 6 years ago now, I will say I still have light anxiety but am much better.
I been taking xanax for 5 years 3mg a day even more some days i am now detoxing with other meds that suppress withdrawal sickness i have a long road but i can do it this day 1 for me
Benzos are less scheduled than Amphetamines are but I have been on every ADD med on the market including desoxyn, rx meth, and I used to take Valium, Xanax, Ativan and Klonipin and I deal with ADHD and Manic Episodes and benzos are the worst... Stimulant meds make me scattered and loud and mouthy and hyper without them but with benzos I could not go a day without them after 2 weeks and rx meth was the mildest of add meds and benzos are the worst... trust me... Ritalin is the hardest add med
BENZO WITHDRAWL IS HELL. AND MOST DOCTORS ARE TOTAL PRICKS. Thank God I have a wonderful doctor. But it doesn't make getting off of Klonopin any easier. TALK ABOUT A TRIP THROUGH HELL.
I take Klonopin and I get the same jolting feeling, crying spells, sick stomach feeling, waiting to get food or a glass of water, staying in my room for days.......... Damn that takes a lot of courage to talk about it. I couldn't do a video on that.
@PedroGunzalez But you should do a video as should everyone who this happens too. The more videos the less this problem can be ignored. :) Hope you get better.
@PedroGunzalez - I have the EXACT same problems. I've been tkin various benzos for a long time so I do know a good deal about it but still I have questions I'm hoping someone can help with. I get 60 of the 2 mg klonopins ever month. I go through all of them in about 3 days to sometimes a week.I also have been buying ALOT of xanax and klonopin and fear I am now addicted. How long does it take to finish all withdrawals after stopping cold turkey? Remember what i said about ho many I've had.
@PedroGunzalez I can relate man, I've been on Klonopin for 4 years, in the last 3 months taking 4mg/day. While I'm not ready at all to declare a breakthrough, my NEW doc has me on 1 mg/day + 400-800 mg Neurontin, and so far (cross fingers), it's having an impact. I'm not a physician, but in the last 7 days I've only taken a total of 5 mg of Klonopin and have not spazzed out. The Neurontin seems to help with the taper. Maybe worth a shot - if I can get off this K, it'll be a big victory, GL!
@PedroGunzalez darlin i hope your doin ok iv been on benzos 4 27 yrs & am now just on valium 2 a day at the most the withdrawls are bullshit noone knows unless they have been through it
@PedroGunzalez Switch slowly to Valium, drop the Klonopin dose as you increase Valium. Also Levomepromazine would help ALOT. It boosts all benzo effects. I've been where you are right now (well, your post is quite old.. ahem). I used Xanax for 8 years, 4-18mg a day, destroyed me completely. Quitting was easier than i thought, just kept switching to less harmful benzos with aid of Levomepromazine. ANYONE who reads this and is fuck'd with benzos, Xanax>Klonopin>Valium, drop Valium slowly.. Free!!
your really brave to share all this with the world. i just started dealing with my anxiety its good to have this info just for personal knowledge thanks , u words will help me in my journey
Coming off opiates at the moment on 3rd day but im scared im w/d from benzos as well cause I did those alot too. My problem is i cant fihure out if im wd from the opiates and benzos or im having panic attacks. I woke up this morning and couldnt breath. Anxiety runs in my fam my brother has it my dad had it and I think mine may have been triggered by my dad passing a week ago. When ever I start thinking about it I cant breath. My problem is I dont kno if this is from w/d or is it anxiety.
@cfromcinci513 stay strong yo. i came off benzos after 8 years at the same time as 4 years of heroin earlier this summer and i had the same major fear and symptom confusion...stick it out if you can and trust me that you'll feel mad proud for kicking both if you can pull it off. worst time of my life ever but i'm glad i did it
great fun ain't it man. i've withdrawn from clonazapam and oxycontin myself-at the same time, and what a nightmare. i finally got it all done under ketamine in hospistal which was a breeze. but just one thing for all people who have anxiety and do want to try another drug option, beta blockers are better than anything i've used and they carry no withdrawals but check it out with a doc first of course. all the best, hope all is well or at least much better now.
Shoulda tried Klonopin or Lorazepam, less addictive longer acting benzos. But those as any benzo are STILL addicting enough to ultimately kill you on withdrawal
Thank you for sharing man, I hope your doing well now. You have more balls then me, I'm addicted to prosciption Opiates. Namely Oxycodone and Morphine sulfate
I am 1 month into benzo withdrawals. The withdrawals are not getting better, in fact, it seems every day a new symptom crops up. My hearing is hypersensitive, every sound is amplified. These past few days i've become so emotional, every setback seems to make me cry. I just want this agony to end. My brain & my body have suffered in this past month so much, i truly want to die. I don't want to burden anyone but i'm so scared of what is happening and not knowing when i(if ever) will feel better.
Thank you so much for openning my eyes about the dangers of taking benzo drugs. I honestly had no clue, and I have been taking Xanax for 30 years!! This past week, I have been trying to slowly taper off, but I am also going through a private hell from the withdrawal. From what I am now learning, it looks like this battle may last for years! I wish you the best & hope things are getting better in your life!
Thanks for posting this. I am having the crying spells every day. I am the same way I don't wanna get off the couch. It's good to hear that it's the benzo w/drawal, I get paniced and believe it's just me at times and the obsessions I have em. Ne way thanks.
@collindacorn I can't even talk to anyone without crying! I feel so hopeless & depressed. I have been fighting this for a month now. My Dr. prescribed me 2mg Klonopin 8 yrs ago. I have been thru excruciating opiate withdrawals. How can these Dr.'s prescribe this insidious drug so easily, but disregard you, your body, your mental health, basically you are on left all alone not knowing what to expect, lack of sleep plus new withdrawal symptoms hitting you every day, do they feel no accountability?
wow.. that's what i'm going through right now! Haven't taken my Klonopin for a week and it's only getting worse... and worse... 1 more day and I'll have my script again for another 5 months.. been on this shit for 5 years now and I'm only 24!!! Does it ever end?
@vodouisant6 Yes it does end, yes it is worth it, and yes it is very hard. The withdrawals, as you know, are no joke. You may very well experience ALL the symptoms of withdrawal, but hold your course and you will get better. Believe it or not the body and mind like to heal. When you are in the midst of withdrawal you feel like you are dying and not healing, but you really are healing...it's just a painful process.
going through the same shit now, keep it up man its so hard but you've opened my eyes a bit with this vid and now i don't feel as if i'm the only one to go through this shit. massive respect for putting this online and sharing your thoughts and story, good luck for the future.
Anti depressents are the same way it's really just a way for Big Pharm to make huge amounts of money off your addiction to there pills. It's no different then being addicted to cocaine or heroine. Just legal of course. I have taking both anti depressents and benzos they suck they don't work plus the side effects you can't explain in words unless u experience it first hand.
@HilarityBribo I agree. Benzos are a BIG BAND-AID. They fix nothing over the long term. In fact, when you try to get off them, your anxiety is multiple times WORSE, and plus you have to suffer with the HORRIBLE WITHDRAWL on top of the anxiety. If I had only known, if I had only known, if I had only known...I NEVER WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE SHIT. I trusted my doctors, and I feel they betrayed me.
i am coming off of benzos, free for three months after a two year taper, and you are an inspiration to me, to have the courage to talk about this and show your face to a bunch of people. I can barely talk to people who were my friends for years right now.
didnt take xanax for 2 days and had a seizure while driving on saturday. just got home from the hospital today. SCARY AS SHIT! its a shame because xanax really works for me but im way to scared so now im weening myself off. fuck it Im sticking with pot.
I can't believe withdrawal symptoms last this damn long, that's crazy. I will never get on benzos. At least with opiates all it takes is a couple weeks to feel almost normal
many people go threw this i have also. but i delt with it by myself. it was hell....but now im still mentaly ill but i am off the meds. i still cannot live a normal life but i'd rather be "crazy" so to speak then both "crazy and dying of liver problems
Thankyou for your sharing I too have suffered this hell. I had flumazenil infusion in Jan 2010. It did help, however I still ache. How Dr's get away with this is discusting. I am deverstated at the suffering we have had.
My mom has been on xanex for about 20 years an lately this past year she would run out of it a few times. The first time she had a seizure, an went to the hospital it was very scary. This past week she ran out again i had to constanly be wit her at all times so if she had a seizure someone would know an she would not die anyways she started 2 obsess about money issues an jerk like every sec & she would talk about her mouth an hands an feet are num its just horrible 2 see her go through this
I had a full blown seizure from not taking Klonopin for 3 days. i wasnt on anything else, and ive never had a seizure before in my life. its very dangerous
, bigger bugs in amongst the lil tiny bugs, all growing and moving past one another it was scary, it stayed for hours. i have NEVER experienced this ever. i thought the bugs were all over me and in my eyes and brain, i thought they were all under my skin coz i could see them, it was real and so terrifying
is xanax like diazepam( valium), in the benzo family yeh? , i was on heroin and diazepam, and one day wen i was away to start withdrawels, i had like bugs in my vision, when my eyes were open and closed i saw what i can only describe as like bacteria under a microscope multiplying, it was there
Dude!!!!!!!!!! I just quit cold turkey after taking 2 milligrams 4 times daily. I Didnt sleep for fuckin 2 days. I was tripping out. I tried to drink some beer to pass out which i never do. Anyways I had to make an excuse up while at work that I had not taken my blood pressure medicine. My boss was even worried even though I tried to hide how I was feeling he could tell. He asked me if I had a hangover. I wasnt about to say yes????? Who would do that. So i Told him it my blood pressure
I have been in Klonopin w/d, it's not fun, I don't call it hell, but whoever is on a Benzo, it's sad they have to go through this. I was on Klonopin 9 years, 6mg and my symptoms were/ still are Partial Seizure, Anxiety, Fatigue, Dizziness, and everything else... So if you're on a Benzo, and build tolerance which you will, remember go slow and taper.
i love how they get u on this stuff but have no idea about getting off of it. cold turkey is totally not what your supposed to do. i totally relate. i am a 2 yr xanax user prescribed by dr. after 2 yrs it was up to 150 1 mg pills every 30 days. my dr said i wasnt addicted and all my anxiety and depression had nothing to do w/ the xanax. i beg to differ 1 yr later benzo free!!! life is so much better.
@EyeWonderOne How long in total were you on xanax? I was on about 25mg of valium a day for about a yr then the past two yrs 6-8mg of xanax a day, I feel my life is in a void atm, lost my job due to it, just didn't care about anything, it's good to hear your off it! I can't wait for the day
how did you make out? I hope ok. I ran out a couple months ago (due to the incompetence of Walmart pharmacy employees). From Friday to Monday I was in hell. Eventhough I'm only taking avg. 2mg Xanax (alprazolam) a day for about a year. I felt like I was gonna die. I have to trail off of these but I'm unemployed and my life is totally screwed. Not the best time to taper off. Good luck to you
@Deutsche22 hey i been taking alprazolam for about 2 ad a half months like once every 2 days (.2 mg) and now i stopped i dont wana take them anymore... will i suffer the same withdrawl effects as someone who took xanax for a year or longer?
hi there, thanks for posting my video on your blog site, I would like you to watch my new video for my anxiety disorder walk to support those with agoraphobia.
iam on ativan, clonazepam and lexapro again, my family and friends are worried cause i have to take 90 ativans a month, and 60 clonazepams amonth just to get through the anxiety/agoraphobia, i just got a job working 15 hours a day at the canadian exhibition carnival, and I blacked out from the panic.

It is time to research the Warrior lawfirms that take class action suits for all you and your fellow victims. Even Italy sued the Vatican 2006 and won. Research the cases that have been won. Go for it. Msg me I will keep you in my prayers. Love each and all.

EVEN WITH AN ANXIETY DISORDER Like his or mine or others...
wvboarder2005 5 months ago
The reason your arms and legs feel heavy is because benzos act as a muscle relaxant to some degree. When you come off them your body starts to compensate and your muscles start working much more than they should. A simple walk to the kitchen can feel like you're doing squats the whole way.

This would be much appreciated
Greek8225 7 months ago
@Greek8225 thats a very open question, given that there is many veriables to the best medication for you. OCD is an anxiety disorder but benzo's are not i good idea because they will make your life worse in the end, i was addicted to diazepam for a long time. there are many different medications you could be put on like zoloft which is an SSRI (anti-depresent) or somthing like seroquel whitch is an anti-phycotic.
drempt1 7 months ago
@Greek8225 Hi:) There is an anti-depressant drug called Anafrinil that was targeted specifically for OCD, and now other anti-depressants are used. please be careful, research and consult with a doctor. Some of the newer meds used to treat OCD can cause suicidal thoughts and suicide in people your age.
If your doc prescribes an anti-depressant for your OCD check online to see if it's one of the newer ones, and what precautions to take.
Take care:)

xxeu4riaxx 8 months ago
I've had withdrawal symptoms with alcohol (several times), ativan, and xanax. My experience with all three has been that tapering does not necessarily work. Rather than reducing dosage over the same time intervals, I recommend taking the normal dosage less and less frequently. This is better because you have something to look forward to- a temporary break from the pain.
The only natural cures for the pain? hot baths, and the few moments after climax (sorry if that seems graphic).

TheDBER 1 year ago
Hey Brian, I'm currently doing a diazepam taper off of xanax per the Ashton Manual. How are you currently feeling? Hang in there, brother.
ItsYourBoyRick 1 year ago
It took me a while to get normal after stopping 2-3mg of Klonopin a day. You can get it off the internet with no problem. I had horrible muscle jolts, two seizures while trying to sleep, etc.
I now only take 1mg of Ativan no more than every 24hrs and have been able to stop with no problems other than minor sleep issues but YES! Benzo's are horrible when abused and even taken as directed.
Gixter1000 1 year ago
Anybody here please at least Google it.
shelliebill 1 year ago
It's not really your body, but your brain that's reacting to withdrawal. Ativan/Lorazepam takes the place (does a better job) of the naturally occurring GABA (relaxing) chemical neuro-receptor. After a while, the brain stops making GABA all together, as it doesn't have to. But try to stop (even after a 6 day taper for seizures), and you're left feeling like a feral cat on crack in traffic! It then takes 6 TO 18 MONTHS for your brain to pump GABA normally.
No benzos or GABA = A RIDE TO HELL!!
laaxe 1 year ago

Stimulant meds make me scattered and loud and mouthy and hyper without them but with benzos I could not go a day without them after 2 weeks and rx meth was the mildest of add meds and benzos are the worst... trust me... Remember what i said about ho many I've had.
chrishouchins49 8 months ago

Free!!

My problem is I dont kno if this is from w/d or is it anxiety.
cfromcinci513 1 year ago
@cfromcinci513 stay strong yo. i came off benzos after 8 years at the same time as 4 years of heroin earlier this summer and i had the same major fear and symptom confusion...stick it out if you can and trust me that you'll feel mad proud for kicking both if you can pull it off. worst time of my life ever but i'm glad i did it
DougglesMagnificent 1 year ago
great fun ain't it man. i've withdrawn from clonazapam and oxycontin myself-at the same time, and what a nightmare. i finally got it all done under ketamine in hospistal which was a breeze. but just one thing for all people who have anxiety and do want to try another drug option, beta blockers are better than anything i've used and they carry no withdrawals but check it out with a doc first of course. all the best, hope all is well or at least much better now.

My w/d from 1mg Xanax lasted overl 5 years.
I still cannot do physical exercise and I get exhausted very easily.
Good luck to anyone stuck with this shit.

Thanks for posting this. I am having the crying spells every day. I am the same way I don't wanna get off the couch. It's good to hear that it's the benzo w/drawal, I get paniced and believe it's just me at times and the obsessions I have em. Ne way thanks.
collindacorn 1 year ago
@collindacorn I can't even talk to anyone without crying! I feel so hopeless & depressed. I have been fighting this for a month now. My Dr. prescribed me 2mg Klonopin 8 yrs ago. I have been thru excruciating opiate withdrawals. How can these Dr.'s prescribe this insidious drug so easily, but disregard you, your body, your mental health, basically you are on left all alone not knowing what to expect, lack of sleep plus new withdrawal symptoms hitting you every day, do they feel no accountability?
Bahnain 1 year ago
Second day going through withdrawal. Fuckin pharmacy has been closed for the past 2 days. Starting to feel the hard effects
kgonepostl 1 year ago
wow.. that's what i'm going through right now! Haven't taken my Klonopin for a week and it's only getting worse... and worse... 1 more day and I'll have my script again for another 5 months.. been on this shit for 5 years now and I'm only 24!!! Does it ever end?
vodouisant6 1 year ago

I have taking both anti depressents and benzos they suck they don't work plus the side effects you can't explain in words unless u experience it first hand.
theyear2102 1 year ago
I heard after awhile Benzos actually make you worse off, not to scare anyone, just saying best to use them with caution.
HilarityBribo 1 year ago
@HilarityBribo I agree. Benzos are a BIG BAND-AID. They fix nothing over the long term. In fact, when you try to get off them, your anxiety is multiple times WORSE, and plus you have to suffer with the HORRIBLE WITHDRAWL on top of the anxiety. If I had only known, if I had only known, if I had only known...I NEVER WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE SHIT. I trusted my doctors, and I feel they betrayed me.
Dude2Hot2BStr8 1 year ago
@Dude2Hot2BStr8 Amen to that.Truly right.A bandaid.

i am coming off of benzos, free for three months after a two year taper, and you are an inspiration to me, to have the courage to talk about this and show your face to a bunch of people. I can barely talk to people who were my friends for years right now.

I can't believe withdrawal symptoms last this damn long, that's crazy. I will never get on benzos. At least with opiates all it takes is a couple weeks to feel almost normal

That twitching in the throat - I"ve had that with alcohol withdrawal (after hammering it daily for 2yrs).
Withdrawal from alcohol and benzos sounds almost the same!
If you are not an alcoholic then you could perhaps use that in low quantities for benzo withdrawal.
I'm actually using benzos for alcohol withdrawal - but I appreciate this warning of taking it regularly.

, bigger bugs in amongst the lil tiny bugs, all growing and moving past one another it was scary, it stayed for hours. i have NEVER experienced this ever. i thought the bugs were all over me and in my eyes and brain, i thought they were all under my skin coz i could see them, it was real and so terrifying

is xanax like diazepam( valium), in the benzo family yeh? , i was on heroin and diazepam, and one day wen i was away to start withdrawels, i had like bugs in my vision, when my eyes were open and closed i saw what i can only describe as like bacteria under a microscope multiplying, it was there

So if you're on a Benzo, and build tolerance which you will, remember go slow and taper.
crazy7house 2 years ago
i love how they get u on this stuff but have no idea about getting off of it. cold turkey is totally not what your supposed to do. i totally relate. i am a 2 yr xanax user prescribed by dr. after 2 yrs it was up to 150 1 mg pills every 30 days. my dr said i wasnt addicted and all my anxiety and depression had nothing to do w/ the xanax. i beg to differ 1 yr later benzo free!!! life is so much better.
EyeWonderOne 2 years ago

Good luck to you
Deutsche22 2 years ago

I cannot taper off the benzos, all i care about is the pills to avoid the panic feeling.
