And I agree with you, he wasn't as skilled as other bassists, one being because he uses a pick (i myself am against using picks). But it was his energy, his prescence, and also, just the fact he was a good bass player that makes him a helluva bassist for me.

lol.Using a pick has nothing to do with your skill level.Most bass players that use a pick also use their fingers.It is just a way to get a different sound and there are things you can do with a pick that you can never do without one.

Those bands are almost as mainstream as you can get in the genre. But I'm NOT saying they are bad, I think those are some of the best thrashbands out there. All I'm trying to say is if you don't know about those bands, you dont know thrash... On the other hand it's a shame that not many ppl heard about Dark Angel (Fucking Br00tal!) Sadus, Sacred Reich, D.R.I, Exumer, Tankard and so on.
