@kazumihayama-I know what you mean......we live in a country where you can read about sex and drugs and all that stuff but on public television in this day and age you can't see two men in love kiss or even in bed together but you can see straight couples it's just wrong. This kind of stuff needs to change...if this show was on showtime like qaf was we would have seen more.

I don't get everyone's annoyance with Ameera's lack of knowledge of how things work in the US. I am so depressed. I had english in school for eight years and I listen to english music and tv nearly every day and still my pronounciation sucks so bad compared to Ameera.
I've learned american english in a course of about 5 months because I feel gifted but I think it is easier to master than british english.:-)But it doesn't matter of how you speak,it is pretty admirable that you possess a second language.Right?:-)
@JRRDPR yes its awesome to be able to write so well in only 5 months. I took me years to finally be able to speak/write in english, I think the more you learn, the more you can enjoy the little things that can only be understood in the context of that language... keep it up!
Noah does not want Ameera. He only has eyes for Luke. He's gay. End of. Noah is completely devoted to Luke as a boyfriend but he also has his OWN life/issues too. Noah needs to reconcile the horrible things that have happened. He has to process who his father is, the fact that he COULD have known his mother and won't get to. I get why he feels responsible for Ameera. Noah wants to help her and make up for at least 1 of the mistakes made by his father.

Look, I know that at this point in time (at least) there was a war going on in Irak, but this show is completely exaggerating the rules of Islam. They're making Irak seem like Hell so that America looks like Heaven. Just so all viewers out there can think: "Oh, Irak is terrible! Look how they're treating their women! And the bombings! It's good that we're invading it!"

Even though this story line SUCKED and was an excuse for the network not to have them kiss... they could have done much more with Ammera. Like she's working with the colonel to kill luke again, or kidnap noah, or she's really noah's sister or she's some sort of fugitive or whatever, but they never did anything with it. Which is really disappointing. It's like the second they realized we the fans hated it they tried to end it asap.
I don't know how this Ameera subplot ends but I suspect she is a criminal type who has been sent by dad to try to hurt Luke. Ameera - America -Col. Mayer. Her accent sounds kind of forced. I mean, how could she just get to the US on her own. I don't get it.

If the only purpose of introducing Ameera is to create awareness of and sensitivity toward other cultures, bravo! Otherwise, she's annoying and helps create even more unrealistic scenarios in the story line. Yea, well bring a strange Iraqi woman home to sleep in our parlor, and no one blinks an eye.

I am so depressed. I had english in school for eight years and I listen to english music and tv nearly every day and still my pronounciation sucks so bad compared to Ameera.

I've learned american english in a course of about 5 months because I feel gifted but I think it is easier to master than british english.:-)But it doesn't matter of how you speak,it is pretty admirable that you possess a second language.Right?:-)

@JRRDPR yes its awesome to be able to write so well in only 5 months. I took me years to finally be able to speak/write in english, I think the more you learn, the more you can enjoy the little things that can only be understood in the context of that language... keep it up!

Noah does not want Ameera. He only has eyes for Luke. He's gay. End of. Noah is completely devoted to Luke as a boyfriend but he also has his OWN life/issues too. Noah needs to reconcile the horrible things that have happened. He has to process who his father is, the fact that he COULD have known his mother and won't get to. I get why he feels responsible for Ameera. Noah wants to help her and make up for at least 1 of the mistakes made by his father.
It's not logical but it makes sense.

Look, I know that at this point in time (at least) there was a war going on in Irak, but this show is completely exaggerating the rules of Islam. They're making Irak seem like Hell so that America looks like Heaven. Just so all viewers out there can think: "Oh, Irak is terrible! Look how they're treating their women! And the bombings! It's good that we're invading it!"

Even though this story line SUCKED and was an excuse for the network not to have them kiss... they could have done much more with Ammera. Like she's working with the colonel to kill luke again, or kidnap noah, or she's really noah's sister or she's some sort of fugitive or whatever, but they never did anything with it. Which is really disappointing. It's like the second they realized we the fans hated it they tried to end it asap.
