Yeah, this song took off like a shot in 1988 here in the D---you literally could not listen to a radio station or go to a club without hearing this song blasting through the speakers. Funny thing,though--if you listen to the lyrics, the artist could have come out with the same tune today and not have to change a word---because these ARE the real bad times as of 2008--what with all the layoffs,downsizing, disappearing jobs,homeless rate close to going up,etc.
