yeah thats when we use to go out to get sweaty.. i dont even go out anymore. i would be out of place tryin to groove to this thug clique music they have now. i dont know who to blame but the house party atmosphere is non-existant nowadays.i bet everyone in that video made it home safe, and knowone was packing heat. i miss them days..
In Detroit thinking about renting a hall and throwing a dayz of wayback jam with old school classics like this with some zapp/roger, tom browne,whodini,heatwave,ojays,tempts,cameo,etc,etc......you get the point.....think it would go over well?
Oh wow that was my jam playing bad times, captain rapp, i cant stand it, back in the day in detroit and oak park, i miss home, i was a true fan of this show, was be jammin, lol
hey i feel ya.i'm from texas and we use to jam to this cut every weekend.what do you notice about this video? everyone was dressed to impress for that era.thats when going to a club you wanted to look fly and impress the ladies and vice versa.those days are over ya'll.thugs today have destroyed the clubs and no longer dress to impress, but rather dress to destroy lifes and public events. we had the greatest era of music ever. damn i miss home and all the people who grew up with me.i miss da 80's
Oh hell yes..this was my song. In fact, I got it on a CD in my SUV right now. I got it when I came home to Detroit last year at a record shop on Grand Blvd and Greenfield I think it was.
That was my girl at 3:03..and was that Cheryl at the end?
Yeah, this song took off like a shot in 1988 here in the D---you literally could not listen to a radio station or go to a club without hearing this song blasting through the speakers. Funny thing,though--if you listen to the lyrics, the artist could have come out with the same tune today and not have to change a word---because these ARE the real bad times as of 2008--what with all the layoffs, downsizing, disappearing jobs, homeless rate close to going up,etc.
I use to watch this show as a kid on channel 38. It was staticky as hell but I still manage to watch it. There was always this one guy with a cape. O_o
That song was a Detroit staple. I liked the rap/vocal version better. Have a 12" version that has the groove practically worn off from being "scratched" at the same point continuously (g).
Her name is Denise. We were in this ghetto ass play back in the day called "Wicked Ways" that was produced by Mike Matthews and WGPR. I was a little kid then, but I remember she was always nice to me. That was really cool to see this video after all these years.
OMG!! Those were the days!! I just remember The Electrifying Mojo playing the heck out of this song on his show back in the day. Thanks for posting this joint!!
LMAO!!! Nope u were not alone, I did too!!(Detroit white girl who LOVED this show). I am so happy to have found these. THANK U for letting us all relive the memories of our youth. Now if only i see the ones with the count i'll be all set!

Soul Train had 2 separate dance lines. Pay attention.
Caprice87 2 years ago
I pay attention very well, although it's sort of hard when you have a job and don't have time to read every response to this video...
I was suggesting, and I guess you weren't paying attention to my joke, that this show stole the Dance Line made famous by Soul Train.
It was tongue-in-cheek, hence the LOL at the end of my comment.
