i like how your another that overstands what people dont understand bacause ther ignorent and dont understand what we overstand because we understand you see chair two next to me immeaditley i think the song will be a anotrher large check in the mail
shes had a lot of top 20 singles there and her records do well but shes had a large influence on a whole lot of artists including chris martin thome yorke madonna gwen stefani and dozens more.
I think her oddities in her music are nothing short of gifts. Her presentation and her structure is very, very strange, but oddly attractive and intimate. A gifted person, truly.
Bjork is an inspiration. The United States mainstream media/television doesn't seem to embrace her, but she still does extremely well in record sales. If you don't know who Bjork is, I suggest you go figure it out! :-D
Really. People scoff at Bjork fans, only knowing she's some "weird girl who sings weird songs". Yes she's eccentric, but she's one of the most talented artists in the whole world. Truly an amazing person.
To all these "is Björk even known?" questions, the answer is a resounding yes. Although the US has neglected her due to becoming to eccentric for mainstream audiences, her name is still well-known throughout Europe and in popular musicians of today. Unfortunately, her name is often used by those horrendous Ashlee Simpson types, name-dropping to make themselves sound more influential and broad than they really are.
She did. Just cause most people don't know her doesn't mean the people who are currently in this 'popular contemporary' music culture category didn't pull inspiration from her. So indirectly a lot of people do know her =P But I see what you mean.
oioi mate go ask any1 who no's "clearly more than you" about music n find out who she is, how good she is, and how much her music changes mainstream music k.
This is one of my fauvorite Björk's performations at the Royal Opera House. It's a kind of duet with Matmos, 'cause they put all their musical personality at this song but it still remains our Aurora, the Aurora from Vespertine. The Choir and the orchestra make me shimmer. I think Aurora is the essence of Vespertine... the sun setting and hidding after a long winter, don't you think?
fuck beth gibbons!

@Freedomispeace1 That's because she was signed to the Ten Little Indians label in England so she got a lot more promotion over here.

One of the best songs from Vespertine. Bjork is really unique. The best female vocal i've ever heard(except Beth Gibbons, maybe;))
