But when you said " If you want serious news and entertainment" GMTV are (sadly) the least serious Contractors ever known, as when they were reporting on floods fairly recently, they interupted it by showing Paris Hilton been released prison. I bet in the very unlikely event of a large comet hitting the earth, they would probally just ignore it by going about what celebritys have been doing.
I know that, but it would be nice if they had continued to do so. I have also noticed that ITV1 have stopped promoting programmes for Channel 4 and S4C which is a rather sad state of affairs.
That's probably because Channel 4 has been independent from ITV since the early 90s. Now it would just be advertising for another channel, which you certainly don't want in this day and age.

By 2001, Channel 4 was no longer promoting programmes on ITV.

That's probably because Channel 4 has been independent from ITV since the early 90s. Now it would just be advertising for another channel, which you certainly don't want in this day and age.
