  • How did GM get away with filling bankruptcy when they received the BILLIONS from the tax payer bailout? What a sham! I thought the bailout was to prevent a bankruptcy I don't even think they needed the money to begin with! I feel GM's greed took the American people and our government for fools! And we won't ever get our tax dollars back. It makes me sick to hear how much there white collar employees are getting in bonuses when they still owe the tax payers billions!

  • It's funny hearing Paul Ryan talk about chrony capitalism, when the GOP House is bought and paid for by Wall Street and Big Business. Chrony capitalism is ok as long as it goes to chronies who line GOP coffers with cash. Laughable. No one is fooled.

  • NOW they are giving out bonuses as if they are doing well. They are continuing with their reckless ways that got them in this mess in the first place ON OUR DIME!!!!!

Sure, they did better than Honda and Toyota............. Thanks to the Tsunami!!!!

GM has screwed America. WAS IT AS GOOD FOR YOU AS IT WAS FOR THEM?? The unions enjoyed it!

  • what an idiot.... sadly, GOP now means IDIOT

  • This guy has wierd but nice eyes, no homo

  • I think you're a good guy, but do you think that if Republicans take power again that crony capitalism will go away? The only way I can see that happening is if Ron Paul comes in and vetoes everything that he knows is not free-market. I'm not trying to be a Ron Paul spammer or anything but seriously it seems only now that the more mainstream Republicans have become truly anti corporatist.

  • I wouldn't trust Geithner to be the city dog catcher.Bush had Rumsfeld,Obama has Geithner.

  • @nphanlon1973 no, Bush had that rotten motherfucker Dick Cheney. He was like an evil pitbull in a suit lol

  • Ryan's plan would give billions more to the insurance companies via vouchers. And where does the money for those vouchers come from? You and me, that's who!

Can you say CORPORATE WELFARE??? This nigger (Ryan) should know better! F U Ryan and the rest of your corporate slave (GOP) buddies! These cock suckers have put a for sale sign on our asses and we're being sold way cheap to corporate America! Everyone of these niggers has to go next election!!!

  • @Vetwolf13

When Obama mandates that everyone buy private health insurance...who is benefiting there?

  • @AtibbsSPARTAN Two wrongs don't make a right! The republican party is throwing seniors and the poor under the bus.

  • @Vetwolf13

When the federal government spent all surplus social security money through treasury bonds, called it a "trust fund" seniors got screwed. DId the war on poverty help the poor? Unfortunately policies that "help" actually have the opposite effect.

I would recommend watching some videos by Nobel winning economist Milton Friedman

  • @AtibbsSPARTAN the people who wouldn't have health insurance otherwise *phew, that was an easy one.*

  • @bruck9915

Health coverage would be cheaper for everyone if the federal government hadn't been destroying it for a half century.

The lowest government estimates for medicare fraud are over $100 billion a year. Soon no one will have decent care.

  • @Vetwolf13

The government should not be involved period

  • I'm a Chevy guy. Always have been since I was a kid, but I tell you I'm really having a conflict of purchasing anymore of their vehicles.

  • @EchoMike03 I've got an 11 year old BMW. STILL the best performing car I've ever owned in my life and am hell bent that my 2 1/2 y/o will get it someday. Hubby's truck is 11 year old dodge. Need a new truck/s.u.v. and we're going to buy a ford. I'd rather have a pre bailout used chevy but I'll be damned if we get one because eventually it will need a part which will put $ into GM's/gov pocket that we will NEVER get back-they'll just spend it on something else counted as revenue. Scumbags.

  • @TheJoozie Please don't compare something made in Germany to something made in Michigan. A $30,000 BMW 3-series is better than ANY GM product, even twice its cost.

  • @DJFG85 mmmmm... okay... AND? I never compared anything. notice I drive a BMW? It's not a rinky dink 3 series, either. ; ) But I am not in debt in ANY way to ANYONE so I'm not going to buy an $80k BMW and we need to get an s.u.v. The point is, we're going to buy a ford because we do not want a penny to go to GM. But thanks for your snippy bullshit.

  • @TheJoozie lol wow, someone is menstruating hard this morning!

  • @DJFG85 big man! anything else? I hope you don't use that line on your wife when you make a comment that is blatently retarded to try to justify it. You made an assumption that I was comparing one country's car to another which I wasn't. You stepped in it, you were called on it, and you came back with a 16 year old BOY's response to your own fuck up. Good for you. Now run along.

  • "CHEVY RUNS DEEP" in the taxpayers pocket

  • GM owes over $10 billion - and has been operating at quarterly losses for the past how many years?

How did GM think their bullshit would keep flying.

  • People need to call and email GM and tell them to take their commercial off the air. I will NEVER own a GM product.

  • @miazagora you got that right goverment moters is a good name for gm there just as crooked as goverment

  • @miazagora you got that right gm is stealing are tax money id never buy one

  • Gov'ment Motors is like Gov'ment cheese.... the more you know about what it's made with the more you fell sickened.

  • @the82spartans * feel sickened.

  • The GM stock the 6 main leaders were selling was worthless. The government bought the shares, & owns 60% of the low common stock, that's now growing. When the market allows for a sizable profit since we(the American people) were the prime investors, they'll be sold. Why sell stocks sooner hurting the return to us? Makes no sense. The goal is to keep government ownership brief but to also wait until a sale of shares will provide a maximum return to U.S. taxpayers. You don't want maximum return?

  • what are you taking about??? Wasnt it Bush, your buddy, who started this?

  • @olejac it was. In December to the tune of $17.4 billion. Where was Ryan? Oh, voting YES on it. Classic. He voted yes to TARP, yes to bailout of automakers, & yes to the tax on CEO bonuses. His voting record doesn't match his words.

  • @Bolgernow Exactly. This guy talks like he's a true small government conservative, but his voting record shows a completely different indication. He is part of the Crony Capitalism in Washington.

  • @Dabba23

Well, I would think that nailing GM and the government would at least make him the kind of person that wants to ferret out these lies by GM and the fed.

That is not to say that Ryan, as you have stated, has always had a small-government track record. Maybe he learned the error of his ways?

  • @MrTurdFurgeson A politician learning the error of his ways? Somehow I doubt that. He actually tried to justify his vote by claiming that he was stopping a big government overhaul by voting for... big government. He will have to now prove over a long period of time that he really is who he now claims to be before I would consider this guy worthy of a vote (if he ever runs for anything above his current office, that is).

  • Best Thing we can all do -trade up and BUY A FORD!

  • @j33braden you got that right buy a ford its not built with your tax money

  • Thank You for calling it like it is...Crony Capitalism, NOT Capitalism.

  • The government gave GM 150 billion in the bailout.......but when it went though bankruptcy they let them out from paying it back by reducing that amount to 6.5 billion and the government took the rest in stocks...so GM hasn"t came close to paying it back they just took some of the bailout money and gave it back......just a shell game.....GM needs to be shut down.....waste of tax payer dollars

  • Doesn't everyone wish they can "payback" their car loans on their GM vehicles using the same method Whitacre uses?

  • Speaking of crony capitalism, the defense and funding of these unethical, undeclared wars is a far bigger issue than the BS we're being handed about GM.

When you get on board with that and see just how corrupt both the GOP and the Dems are in the warfare at the expense of our military, our morality and our economy--then maybe I'll start to take you seriously Mr. Ryan. Eisenhower didn't warn us against the MIC because he thought it'd be amusing.

  • @Amy31415 The wars are both legal and ethical. The Congress approved them so they are "declared".

  • @CommonSenseJoe

They are unconstitutional, unless you are a revisionist. They are completely unethical, unless you have no conscience. Only the congress has the authority to wage wars, and they are not congressionally authorized as outlined by the Constitution.

You status quo Republicans are so far gone, it's insane. You don't give a shit about anything but killing and can see no other way to resolve issues. Hardly an ethical, Christian, small gov't, fiscally responsible or pro-life stance.

  • @Amy31415 I am afraid you are wrong. No where is the constitution does it say what the exact wording of a declaration of war must be. You are correct that Congress must authorize such action and the Congress did. In fact, they did TWICE. As for ethical, I have a conscience. Saddam violated the cease-fire agreement and thus had to be removed from power. As for Afghanistan, they were supporting and protecting those who attacked us on 911.

  • @CommonSenseJoe

Pathetic justifications of the invasion and occupation of sovereign foreign countries. Imagine if that happened here.

No WMD's, the Bush administration let OBL go at Tora Bora in 2003, the Afghan people were not involved. It's all bullshit. BO is continues it.

Maybe you do have a conscience buried deep down, but you don't have a good understanding of the Constitution or ethics. And people like you who bend the Constitution are as much a part of the problem as liberals.

  • @Amy31415 Be honest, you would not have supported the war if we had found tons of WMDs. Saddam was attempting to gain a weapon. No one knew for sure what he had or did not have. We know now. Even so, it was NEVER the sole reason for the invasion. Why do I need to imagine being invaded? We have right to defend ourselves and our allies. If you don't start something, won't be nothing.

I see, you subscribe to the "Ron Paul" interpretation of conservatism and the Constitution.

  • @CommonSenseJoe The fact is that we did not find WMD's, and no, I don't support pre-emptive invasions. I supported Afghan until they let OBL go at Tora Bora, I do not support the occupation of either of these countries or "rebuilding" them.

We have a right to defend ourselves, we are not doing that. Saddam didn't start anything with us, neither did citizens of either country. 15 of the 19 hijackers were SAUDIS.

And RP's interpretation is the closest to the founders, if you know your history.

  • @Amy31415 Ron Paul is entitled to his opinion as are you, but you are both wrong. History has taught us that you do not wait to fight a war on your own soil. He had WMDs and illegal weapons. He had violated the agreement made when he surrendered. He had corrupted the UN "Oil for Food" program. He was trying to gain a weapon. All of these alone justified his removal.

  • @CommonSenseJoe It's common knowledge that there were no WMD's, and to declare otherwise is profound ignorance.

Bastards like you will get our soldiers killed for bullshit. Neocon assholes like you should be over in Iraq and Afghanistan. If you believe in in so much, get off your fat ass and go over there and fight like a man, you have no right to send people to their deaths for bullshit.

You aren't worth the time to debate or the air you breathe.

  • @Amy31415 Actually, at the time, it was NOT common knowledge. Some thought he did and some he did not. Had he complied with the monitoring and inspections, no one would have to have guessed.

No one wants to send soldiers to die anymore than they want 3000 to die in this country. War is a reality you will have to learn to live with so grow up!

If the best you can do is insult and be vulgar, you should probably quite now anyway. Try thinking for yourself once and while.

  • @CommonSenseJoe

Finally, perhaps you ought to do some research on the philosophy of neoconservatism that you support. It's based in Trotskyism and the founders of that philosophy are leftists who co-opted the right wing.

If you know this and still support it, please never call yourself a conservative.

  • @Amy31415 I don't deal in labels. I deal in facts and reality. The reality is that Ron Paul is a good, but misguided individual. His "run and hide" foreign policy is not practical for protecting this country from terrorism.

I guess I did not know that you were sole arbitrator of who is or is not a conservative. Conservatism is a set of principles and NOT a set of specific applications of those principles. We will not all agree how they are applied.

  • @CommonSenseJoe I see you choose to ignore the fact that the policy you follow is a leftist, violent philosophy and would rather attack one of the few remaining actual conservatives. You have to live with it, and those who support it can have the lives of our soldiers and innocent civilians on their conscience--thankfully, I don't have that problem.

The unfortunate part is that assholes like you don't care if people die and if our military/economy is weakened enough for us to be targets.

  • @Amy31415 People die all the time. A million children were starving to death in Iraq prior to our invasion. Ten of thousands were killed by Saddam after war. More would have been killed had we not enforced the "No Fly" zone.

The fortunate part is that you can be naive and believe that such things are not necessary. Solders understand their duty and accept that duty willingly. You obviously do not understand terrorism. I never attacked Ron Paul. I disagree with him but I respect him.

  • @Amy31415 If I am in charge of protecting 300 plus million Americans, I'm going to do whatever I have to to keep them safe. If push comes to shove, and I have to kill 30 million people regardless if they are innocent or not, I'm going to kill them in a blink of an eye. With the potential of rouge nations getting more sophisticated weapons, being reactive instead of proactive is a bad policy.

  • @CommonSenseJoe well said. I think RP has some excellent points about our economy, but when he trys to talk foreign policy, I just cringe. You haev to be proactive today instead of reactive. That is just the way it is. I don't want to look over the horizon one day and see a big mushroom cloud or some bio-chemical cloud.

  • @pilatus34

If there is an imminent threat to the United States, the POTUS makes his case to Congress and then Congress declares war. That is the Constitutional method laid out to us by the founding fathers.

Preventative "war" is not laid out in the Constitution. Ergo, it is unConstitutional.

If there is a danger to the country, then go out and obliterate that danger from the face of the earth. If there is a potential danger, then use diplomacy. That is the American way.

  • @slumlord2007 If diplomacy fails, then what?

  • @pilatus34

Is there an imminent threat? Then the POTUS needs to go before Congress, make his case and ask for a declaration of war. And should he get get Congress' approval, then have it. Otherwise, more diplomacy.

This is as the founding fathers intended. Anything else is unacceptable and unConstitutional.

  • @slumlord2007 There is the problem. What your definition of imminent threat is and what my definition is are two different descriptions. Just like congress will have different definitions. I'm more interested in patterns of behavior, not waiting till something happens. And you are another one who knows what the founding fathers intended? I have heard so many different interpertations of the constitution the past decade that it has become just laughable. How do you know what they intended?

  • @pilatus34

How do I know what they intended? Because they wrote it down in black and white (or yellow). I'm not interested in interpretations. Just read the thing and do as it says.

I don't really care what your interpretation of an imminent threat is. What I care is that it is debated in Congress and we go to war justly and properly. Not at the whim of the current administration.

You may like the concept of open ended wars with nebulous goals and undefined enemies. I don't.

  • doooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooshe

  • FYI Ryan is correct that they paid the loan part with our money. But $53 billion has not been repaid. The U.S. and Canada own 73% of GM shares. so the only way we would ever get our money back is if G.M.s market value shares were worth $73 billion dollars. ( FYI even in their best years they barely came close to that value). Then the Government would have to sell those shares on stock market but who will buy them? Not a great investment when the last stock holders lost everything.

  • @achzdck

Paul Ryan voted for the auto bailout! "Smartest guy in Washington"? Wake up and stop looking at his hair, look at how he has voted! He voted for TARP and the auto bailout! Enough for most "smart" people to realize that he when you vote against the conservative side, you can not be trusted with future votes. It is time to vote Paul Ryan out of office and replace him with someone that has some core beliefs, and will vote accordingly.

  • @mikeklamecki

Try listening to that again. Sure he may have voted for the bailout...but this is not what he is talking about...he is talking about the repayment of a loan given to GM with tax dollars, being paid off, with, tax dollars. I do not think that was part of the Bailout bill or TARP.

  • @dryanmorr

All you really need to read is the title of the video that HE came up with, "Time to put an end to crony capitalism". Too bad he didn't believe that when he voted to give billions of dollars to a failing company. The funny part about it is that HE expects to get it back, with interest! If he really believed in capitalism he would let a failing business fail. Now he gives these little speeches to make himself seem like a free market guy, but his voting record can not be hidden.

  • This from a guy that thinks the government should save bankrupt businesses. Too bad Ryan doesnt look at GMs stock price, he would see that the market doesnt think the company has much value. Paul Ryan thinks it is the job of the taxpayer to have keep bankrupt businesses afloat, that is why he voted for the auto bailout.

  • Expecting Geithner to provide an honest ANYTHING is like expecting a bull to give milk.

  • This is the same liar who said offshore drilling is safe. Newsflash: there is an oil spill bigger than his entire home state that is just sitting in the gulf of Mexico about to slime Louisiana that proves Ryan has no idea what he is talking about. He claimed that oil rigs off the coast of New Orleans were untouched by Hurricane Katrina. That was also a lie.

This guy talks a good game, but at the end of the day, he is just like most Republicans--all talk and take the money from big oil.

  • @jensen1901 Southern LA has been seriously polluted for decades. The idea that the administration cares about LA ecology or economy is a lie. If Obama's response to this disaster is to stop offshore drilling, it will simply cause the LA economy to collapse. Just like Detroit's.

  • @jensen1901 So your advice would be what? Stop offshore drilling ? Brilliant. Then we can keep importing more oil from the Persian Gulf in those same tankers that have a much worse safety record that oil rigs. What an imbecile.

  • The TOXIC dumbing down of the conservative movement (1950s-present): Buckley / Goldwater (rolling over in their graves) Nixon's Secret Plan & Southern Strategy Reagan (Trickle-down & MASSIVE DEBT) Religious right hijacks Jesus. GOP hijacks the flag. Limbaugh & Hate Radio Family values hypocrisy Fox "News" Bush/Cheney/Rove Palin Birthers Beck GOP hijacks Tea Party. The abyss? Conservatives, you are HERE.
  • Paul Ryan for President in 2012!

  • Can't charges be filed against GM for lying? Maybe then the media will report it.

  • Another nail in the coffin of the "Main Stream Media" as well. Remember the day when news anchors got excited over news, especially news of government fraud? The "New Media" has become the Mainstream, has taken the place of the so- called "traditional journalist". I would prefer, however, that the soft language of this video would be replaced with something like: "We reject the lie that has been told. We know the parties involved have been deliberate in this deception on the American people."

  • Thanks for the information my Ryan.

  • Rep. Ryan, you're asking Tim tax-cheat Geitner for a "honest" accounting? Good luck getting that.

  • Smoke and mirrors, lies and distortions. Disinformation is the way of this administration.

  • They lost how much last quarter? Normal companies don't lose money and then pay off huge chunks of debt. If they keep losing money will they be back at the government trough asking for more?

  • It amazes me only 1000 people have viewed this.

  • I love the talk Paul but you voted for the bailouts. I hope you will never vote for bailouts again but how can I ever trust you or any other "Conservative" again. Ron Paul is about the only one who seems to vote against crony capitalism.

  • Exactly!!!!!! I have resented GM CEO Ed Whitacre's commercial since the first time I saw it. The shame is the average US citizen doesn't realize how duplicitous this whole thing is.

  • Thank You for All Your Vids, Mr. Ryan. They are Very Helpful.

  • This is exactly what Paul Ryan and more GOP need to keep doing. The stupid media refuses to do anything honest anymore. They are the real problem.

Ryan is doing what he should and that is speak out and loud and often about the dishonesty going on in Washington.

  • @MaddieLynngirl It is only the Marginalized Socialist Media, MSM, that is a lapdog of the House of Misrepresentatives.

  • Paul....I completely agree with you....that being said I really dont think you are going to get anywhere considering how deep the corruption goes. The majority of the white house are former bankers or wall street cronies including geithner. Its like fox guarding the hen house. However, I wish you covered nw wi. You got my support. keep up the good work.

  • This guy should run for president!

  • Too bad we don't have congressmen like you in Connecticut. :(:(

GM acts like it's debt-free, when in reality they have other debt and quite massive pension obligations, which bankrupted them in the first place.. Plus the US bailed out GM with like $50 billion, while they only "repaid" $6.7 billion.

  • Wow, and to think I actually bought into GM's claim. Plus, I know that GM actually laid people off to make that 'payment' possible.

  • Go on Paul, with your bad self. Keep up the good work! We seriously need more politicians like you (please don't go crazy now).
