I was working as a runner in 2000 when I came across some reels of film labeled 'Dark Blood' in the basement of a production company in Soho. I didn't at the time know the title so I asked around at the office and I was told about the sad and tragic tale of River Phoenix and this abandoned film...

@desconocidos27 actually he was off drugs the entire time he filmed this, and the only reason he took them was due to peer pressure on the night, his mother was also staging an intervention so if he didn't go out that night he would still be around, that's why Joaquin blames himself as he talked river into going out that night.
