..and dont get me started on how he comes to not just find evidence for but actually accepting the idea of "the death of the first born" as a historical event! lol okay there goes the academic degree, flunked ;)
Im sorry but there are serious flaws in his presentation. For instance, pictures in Egypt of nondescript people farming or bricklaying DOES NOT in any way prove the Israelites as a solidified people were ever in Egypt, just because the old testament said they were used as farmers and bricklayers there. Interesting subject though.
EXCELLENT!! IF people would research ALL the Archaeological and Historical evidences that fit with The Biblical Accounts, AND PROPHESIES- then people with TRUE INTEGRITY- would realize that the Bible IS THE TRUE WORD OF GOD- because mere men CANNOT foretell the future events of people, or events! Nor do people heve the power to CAUSE these events to occur! GOD HAS LEFT US TONS OF EVIDENCE in history, science, people, places, prophesy, etc. but people INTENTIONALLY REFUSE to do the RESEARCH
REALLY THINK ABOUT HOW CORRUPT THESE SCIENTISTS ARE!! Imagine, for a moment: all these scientists, so delicately holding these artifacts, and admiring their discovery with such Awe,...... And then KNOWINGLY, intentionally ALTERING THE DATE on maybe hundreds, or even thousands of pieces of pottery, stone tablets, writings, etc.! It HAD TO BE INTENTIONALLY DONE!! WHY??? Because, it was not just a single artifact that needed to have a date put with it, it was MANY artifacts. STILL BELIEVE EVER
Continued from below: If a few dates are off in biblical texts, or the earth is really old, or parts of Genesis is only ALLEGORY- It will NEVER AFFECT MY BELIEF that the Bible IS THE DIVINE WORK OF OUR CREATOR!! WHY would I say this? BECAUSE, the pure accuracy, facts, and extremely meaningful, and brilliant, undeniable truths in all of scripture. Historical, scientific, archaeological, and scientific FACTS, and EVIDENCE! This includes all the evidence of Biblical Prophesies coming TRUE in
DID ANYONE NOTICE, WHAT the few, written paragraphs, at the beginning of this video SAID??? The radiocarbon dates were NOT accurate with the SINGLE date/ time in which BOTH dynasties EXISTED at the SAME TIME? FUNNY HOW THIS MAJOR ERROR in scientific dating exists, isn't it? WHEN ARE PEOPLE GOING TO WAKE UP, and SEE THE TRUTH? OF COURSE, the given date was WRONG!!! WE are RULED by CORRUPT PEOPLE in our governments, media, law, education, and, YES- even in SCIENCE!! Their AGENDA is scarier th

Subsistence in organized and permanent settlements in predynastic Egypt by the middle of the 6th millennium BC centered predominantly on cereal and animal agriculture. So, choose as you will. God even knows its impossible to believe in the Bible without some type of confirmation. But, to Christians, its not blind faith at all. We know because we have been told by God himself. As you and everyone else can know..but, lets keep dwelling on simple words.Here,Ill make a claim as an atheist then..uh...Paris dosent exist. Okay, I'm going to say the "V" word. Velikovsky. I. Velikovsky forwarded ALL of these ideas way back in the late 1950s in his book Ages In Chaos. He questioned the Egyptian king lists; criticised Sothic dating; used the El Amarna letters to equate Saul with the Prince of Salem; spoke of the death pits of northern Egypt, etc. His 'out of synch' time was 400 years; Rohl's, 200. Even so, it was VELIKOVSKY the JEW who dared challenge the Conventional chronology - & got dismissed as a crank.
Author Steven DeNoon has posted a video on You Tube about why Moses calls the Red Sea a Sea of Reeds this incredible story lends real validty to the Exodus account be sure to see it or Google his name. It is completely a new concept that does not detract to the real crossing
@josephortizgarcia Well, you are correct about the devil. The Bible says all that are not the children of God are children of the devil. The FREE GIFT of God is for all by faith in Jesus Christ so get saved and become a child of God.
@BereanBeacon1 You know, Dr John Henrik Clarke once said "Christianity is the handmaiden of colonialism" This statement made sense to me, and I've never forgotten it. Hotep.

@ThisBoyTV All evolutionists have is hot air on the mostly anonymous Internet. We have the real science backed up by the $10,000 Life Science Prize. You can evolve from a chicken and win the prize or make cowardly remarks on websites until you ultimately die and become a creationists after it's too late. My last remark to you is something that everyone understands: CLUCK, CLUCK, CLUCK.
In Numbers 11, as the Israeli people being led around the desert with no food beg for food so they don't die, Yahweh gets angry at their blasphemous desire to not starve and pelts them with, according to Numbers 11:31, a thirty-six inch layer of dead birds spreading out to a distance of a day's journey. That's over six cubic miles of dead quails, and 17.5 billion tons of bird carcass, amounting to one fifth the Earth's total biomass.
I think the Bible might be unreliable for other reasons too.
@rkyeun It doesn't say "pelted them with a 3 foot layer of dead birds". It says "there went forth a WIND from the Lord, and brought quails from the sea". That sounds like flight. There's no reason to assume that they died. In Exodus 16, it says "quail came and covered the camp". Do birds normally flock in such immense numbers or stack atop each other? No. But as far as anomalies go, this would not be the greatest that the world has ever seen.
@rkyeun No problem, honest mistake. God was angry in Numbers 11 because the Israelites craved the food they used to eat as slaves and loathed the manna that He had been providing them with since Exodus 16. That's why the place in Numbers 11 is called Kibroth hattaavah - "Graves of Craving".
Protein deficiency was not well known in those days. I don't know what exactly manna was, but it seems by all accounts to be a kind of unleavened bread. They were starving to death still and without knowing biology or nutrition were informed by their bodies that they craved meat, which they required to survive.
@rkyeun Given, there are some parts in the Bible that take some deep study to see why its not a contradiction but personally I have not found one yet. Can you throw one at me? I like talking logically to atheist, it helps me study more.
We could go into the Earth being made before the stars, if you like. Or plants being made before the sun. Does it count as a contradiction in your mind if the Bible states something that is factually incorrect, or do you intend to spin it as metaphor?
Acts 7.4 says that Abram didn't leave Haran until after his father died. Genesis 11.26 says that Abram's father was 70 years old when Abram was born, and Abram's father lived to be 205 (11.32). Clearly, then, Abram was at least 135 when he left Haran. Yet Gen.12.4 says he left Haran when he was only 75.
We also have the question of what God made birds from.
Genesis 1.20 says birds are made of the waters. Genesis 2.19 says they were made of ground.
From Genesis 1.20 we also get that the birds fly through the firmament of heaven. So heaven or at least the firmament of it isn't outer space, or an alternate dimension souls go to after death. It's the sky, with clouds, where birds can go.
@rkyeun Oh yeah, that one has so many opinions who really knows. As usual though, if we look at all the verses around it we have pretty clear reasoning. They were two separate events, the first was creation of course with no Adam. The second One was where Adam saw God make the animals himself ( not all just one of each), and then Adam named them.
@rkyeun Hmmm, does it ever say that it can only be created once? Ive read multiple theories on it. A lot of them are plausable but there isnt any real black and white answer that Ive come across.
@rkyeun It does look that way when held side by side.Actually though there are 2 statements talking about 2 dif loads.One has to do with helping to carry the burden of a Christian brother or sister,the other to me says measure your own works and faith to see where you stand.Kind of like dont think your better than those who need help or pretend to be so strong in front of others maybe. .I read once two dif greek words were used but I really cant back that up without refrences. You got any more?
I like the idea of ignoring what the Bible says in its own words and instead using what it says "to me in my words". That must surely be the source of its truth, yes?
@rkyeun Sure, if you want to be ignorant and blind go for it. Not every answer is handed on a sliver platter. Just like the existance of God. Atheist are so sure he dosent exist...kind of strange really, the Bible gives directions of confirmation of Gods existance..but, that takes to much time. Its easier to just say nope, he dosent exist yet?
Yeah, because when the infallible word of god says something, it's entirely impossible for the bronze age desert myth to be wrong. We're just not reading it in the right way. Silly us with our facts and knowledge. When god says a day, he means... uh... well let's not actually bring time into it. And when he says bats are birds... well, everyone confuses animal groupings. You'd have to be some kind of omniscient animal-creator to know those apart. And when he says...
@rkyeun Well, I wont argue what cant be argued. Ok, then prove my theory isnt correct? Ill put it into shallow words bc it seems that is how you wish the Bible to be.God says he will confirm himself, he says you must follow a way for that to happen, If you choose not to follow that way, then you can not know the answer. So, unless you have followed it, its not yours to say.To me, its complete ignorance to dwell on something that has NOTHING to do with anything and miss the whole picture.
I don't need god to confirm himself. I have facts. Specifically, I have the words actually in the Bible. Your apologetics is a rug you sweep those words under to hide them from the light of day. You project a meaning that is not present to protect your illusions, and claim it is the right way. You claim all we have to do is believe like you, and we will believe like you. But that experiment has been performed, and ex-Christian atheists exist. I'm one of them.
@rkyeun You are far from your accusation my friend...far from it. I dont say believe like me, even christians dont agree on every passage. An ex christian atheist? Have you ever felt the spirit of God? I once was a Pastor then my sister was murdered..given, I have many more questions about the Bible than I did before but since I received the spirit Ive still never questioned his existance. I question many interpretations of the word, and have never claimed to understand it all but I know God
You said "God says he will confirm himself, he says you must follow a way for that to happen, If you choose not to follow that way, then you can not know the answer." I don't think I've done a disservice in my paraphrasing of that.
Yes, if you never question his existence, it is very easy to not find out whether or not he exists.
@rkyeun I totally agree with the questioning part...to an extent. As a christian, I dont think its as wrong to question as most christians preach. God is big enough to prove himeself, and I dont think he wants mindless empty followers either. Ive even questioned the Bible because I dont by any measure understand it all. But, what I found was when I live the words it says, do the things it says...I see results, I feel him, to me, that makes it real.
@rkyeun Specifically, I have the words actually in the Bible. "
Which bible are you talking about, the catholic bible with 73 books, the KJB with 66 books, the Ethiopean bible that Includes the book of Enoch, and Macabees 1 & 2, the Vulgate bible, The Septuigent that INCLUDES 12 more books in the Old Test. and has LONGER versions of Daniel, Ezeikiel and others, and there are dozens more. You realize that the last 12 verses of Mark and Matthew 28:19 are Christian additions (forgeries)?

@gregrutz "By 6000 BC Egyptians in the SW corner of Egypt were herding cattle and constructing large buildings."
What method was used to come to that date? As Dr. Woolmer explain in the lecture, C12 dating (usually considered most accurate) shows the conventional chronology is inflated.
Then again, Josephus records that before the flood the Sethites had built brick and stone monuments in the land (Siriad) preserving their advancements in astronomy & that the stone was still there in his day.
Correct me if I'm missing something here, but when you cite the coat on the Egyptian statue, doesn't this fail to add up since the coat of the Biblical Yosef was dipped in blood (and possibly ripped) and returned to Yacov by his brothers who evidenced it as Yosef being destroyed by a beast to cover their selling him off into bondage? Shouldn't that coat have been destroyed and never have seen Egypt?
@charmme1 Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to criticize the video. In fact, I find it very intriguing and quite probably more accurate to the archaeological record than the academia pedantry secular-elitists would have it. I think the fellow in the video did a fine job. I just don't quite buy the significance of Yosef's coat of many colors within an Egyptian context.
@Ninjadelusion There is no cloth there, its a statue with depiction of a coat with relation to joseph,gift from his father Yacov(Jacob),which he may have wearing after he got his family to eygpt........yes the coat given to joseph was dipped in blood and given to his father by his brothers but Come on its not like the 2nd in command in eygpt could not make another coat which resembled to the one his father made him....
@charmme1 Yes, but you have to think from Yosef's point of view. It was a nice coat and his beloved father, Israel gave him it, and he cherished it; but he was a boy or young man when all of this happened and the coat itself was likely not a significant part of his ever so long life. (It wasn't the legendary coat during his lifetime that biblical reputation attributed.) Would he have gone through all of that for something that he probably didn't think of in the same way as we do in retrospect?
Thank you for posting this. This scholar is great! I saw his vid on Persian history & the Old Testament. Are there any others by him that you kmow of, please?
If you believe the bible you believe the bible - everything else is overkill. But if you want to know the truth press the stop button and go to a university.
This might convince the uneducated layman and bible believers, but has very little merit as a serious academic effort. Some of the things said are fairly easily debunked, the assumptions are more leaps of faith than anything else, and the "evidence" given is shaky to say the least.
@Joniversity Do you seriously go to class and passively believe every last word you're told like a robot? Do you seriously not do your own personal investigation of things? How do you know you're getting the full "truth" at uni? I've stumped many of my professors with questions and they just look like a deer in the headlights, whether it be history, biology, macroeconomics, and yes a pastor or two. Sorry, but some of us tend to think for ourselves before we believe so easily.
@AllOtherNamesUsed "Do you seriously go to class and passively believe every last word you're told like a robot?" - no.
"Do you seriously not do your own personal investigation of things?" - personal investigation is the whole point of uni. that is why you submit a thesis at the end.
"I've stumped many of my professors with questions" - i did it also with conflicting answers by other scholars.
"Sorry, but some of us tend to think for ourselves before we believe so easily." - i'm one of them.
@Joniversity "personal investigation is the whole point of uni" So why tell people to stop watching this and go to uni? This video is another investigation outside of class and the man presenting it is a professor from uni, pretty straight forward stuff.
Correction, Dr. Mark Woolmer is a lecturer at Durham University, department of Classics and Ancient History, which is basically an assistant professor.
ralph ellis uses the new chronology to support his theories that the biblical patriarchs were in fact egyptian pharaohs.
he also suggests there were 2 exoduses which were combined into 1 in the bible, the first occurring when the hebrew hyksos were defeated by abrahamic pharaohs of upper egypt in a civil war over apis- worship in the new age of aries and, the 2nd when akhenaten, aka moses, was driven from egypt after attempting to supplant all the gods with his own divine person, an autocracy
@gregrutz , biblical plagues were caused by a volcanic eruption on thera in 1620BC. count back another "sar", or 3,600yr cycle, to 5,200BC, the flood.
babylonians used astronomical cycles to measure time, i.e., a day, month, year, precession of the equinox, 26,000yrs. in their kings list, they used "sars", units of 3,600yrs, which is also the orbit of their 10th planet, nibiru, the destroyer.
people didn't all die tho civilizations collapsed; not the first time humans ended up in caves again.
@gregrutz, the pentateuch is recycled sumerian and egyptian mythology with "hebrew" characters replacing the original protagonists. the rest is all about dynastic squabbles. while ralph ellis's theories are controversial, they make more sense than sarah having a child at 90. he asserts that the biblical patriarchs were, in fact, the hyksos dynasty, that jesus was the great-grandson of cleopatra and julius caesar and that biblical saul/paul was actually the historian, flavius josephus.
@gregrutz, the collapse of the bosphorus, leading to massive flooding of the black sea was just one of many catastrophes. myths from the chinese to the american natives all relate stories of flooding and doom.
@gregrutz No arguement at all friend, but there are two views on it. There is proof for it, and proof against it. Depends on what way you choose to look at it. Both are very compelling if you research it all with an open mind.
And yes, I do realize who the Biblical Joel was. But thats not why my middle name is Joel, nor why it became part of my Youtube account name. The day I named my account I was not feeling overly creative. Joel was my middle name, 2003 was the year I graduated, and Joel2003 was taken. You should get your nose checked.
to find a few accuracys in the bible and to use them to say that everything must be true is a great fallacy...its like saying just because im right on one thing i must be right in everything i say. it is a pointless persuit...give it up! you can find some historical accuracy in all holy books, does that make them right too? if not then i hope you see your fallacy.

#1 - There are also many inaccuracies, inerrancies, and flat-out contradictions in the Bible.
#2 - Historical accuracy is not an indication of supernatural accuracy. Or should we pray to the Mayan gods for their celestial accuracy? And if a book had at least 40 contributers over 1600 years of writing, it should be somewhat accurate to draw readers.
#3 - It is quite futile to pursue the Bible as absolute truth when it is blatantly false in many claims.
1 - The Bible DOES contradict itself. Genesis has: Cain punished as a wanderer upon the face of the earth, yet settles and forms a city after having a kid.
God punishes man by making the lifespan 120 years...Noah dies past 500. Abraham dies at 175. And I think Ishmael lives to 137.

3 - The Bible is BLATANTLY FALSE, hence it is FUTILE to PURSUE THE BIBLE AS ABSOLUTE TRUTH.
Does that mean we can't take some examples? Should we disgard the Ten Commandments simply because a book says "God said them"? What of "love thy neighbor" or "turn the other cheek"?
Augustine's words in "Confessions"...use them for your own end.
Ovid's "Metamorphoses", Page 1: "the whole of nature...called Chaos; a crude, unstructured mass...composed of disparate, incompatible elements." And then on Mankind...Maybe by the Gods, maybe by the Earth, who knows.
Gilgamesh is a biography that encorporates mythology into the tale of King Bilgamesh of Ur. [Blatant historical value, fyi.]
What would you know about "wickedness" since you attempt to deny the book that gave us the concept!? What!?..you trust only materialistic reality.. Evolution? You cannot make moral pronouncements. A true materialist must concede there is no right/wrongs..no "wickedness".
Also, the Bible does give us geneologies and the life spans of those named, and events in real history, the problem is the unreliable history of the Egyptians who (unlike the Israelites) were guilty of self laudatory propaganda.
He is now arguing the biblical record of the Flood of Noah came from the flooding of the Nile and that the Hebrews brought that story with them out of Egypt. Not a bible believer.

I dont think he ever mentioned Noahs flood during his talk. Could you tell me how far in he talks about such thing? That would be great. Because I think this guy is a bible believer.
Hey Berean Beacon, this dude seems to be promoting an Eisegetical view of Scriptural history. Instead of using the scriptural chronology first, he is re-dating the biblical history through the latest "scientific" theories. He is arguing that the exodus happened 1100 bc to 1000 bc. This is blatantly in contrast to what the Bible claims through genealogies and is not a faith based evagelical/fundamentalist Bible believing perspective.

Well the first exmple i think every1 knows of would be the quran. Like i said jsut because some stories about kings who lived or citys who got burnt down is true doesnt mean that all the supernatural parts are, its pretty simple. the day you can prove the ressurection, and i do mean prove without using the bible,because that would be circular, then you have real claims. like i said before jsut because im right on some occasions doesnt mean im ringht on everything, samge goes for the bible....
(Well the first exmple i think every1 knows of would be the quran. Ihaveseenyounaked.) Do you realize the Quran steels half its stuff from the bible? Mohammad was actually obsessed with the bible and spent a good part of his life studying it before he went and wrote the Quran, so it should not be a surprise the Quran gets something right from time to time, it got its good material from the bible. @TheJoel2003 Where do you think the Bible got it's stories. There is not one word of the Bible that doesn't have traceable antecedents, from the creation myths to the Stoicism of St. John.
As for the rest of your logic, you claim the resurrection has to be proven apart from the bible? How is this possible? It cannot be reenacted and tested by science. As for documents apart from the bible concerning the resurrection, those do exist. And some have tried to add them to the bible. So the issue is not lack of documentation concerning the resurrection. Its obvious ihaveseenyounaked, that you have a poor understanding of the bible and its history, even for a secular. The bible is not book mind you; its actually a collection of 66 different books written over a span of a few thousand years by 40 some different writers and scribes that never met. And I would like for you to give me an example of your inaccuracies. There are an estimated 200 contradictions in the bible. Continued>>>
>>>I have been over them. And I hate to break it to you, none of them are actually contradictions, they are simply passages taken out of context. @TheJoel2003 You do reaslise that your claim about the documentation on Alexander and the resuraction has totally destroyed your credability. It's dishonesty like this that does so much to destroy your position.
>> And since we are having fun can you tell me how many Manuscripts date back to Caesar within a few hundred years of his life? Do you realize there are over twenty thousand New Testament manuscripts in existence today and most date back within 50 to 70 years of Christs life? You cant possible try to say it is my religion to not belive in the bible that is just ninsens and you and every1 that tries that trick knows it. Sure you might have alot of different scripts of the resurection but it all comes from the same original text. so that is still wrong of you.And like i have todl you alot of times, the fact that it got some accuracys about people who lived and cities who were burnt down doesnt mean that the rest is correct. and to the inaccurasys in the following txt
Have you ever read genesis? that entire chapter is pretty much wrong. not just the fact that it takes more then 6days to create a world but also that the animals are creted in the wrong order,+ it contradicts itself from one page to another when man was created last on one page and first on the other. And deutronomy says that bats are unclean birds.+ Mathew strongly suggests that the earth is flat. And there are many more that i have written down somewhere.
How can you be so ignorant and say that the bible supports modern day science if you read between the lines? Anything could support whatever if you want it to do hard enough. If the bible would have been scientifical accurate i would have belived in it. but it simple doesnt,infact it is the otherway around with myths and magic, sure some accuracys, but then again all holy books do have some accuracys and if you dont belive me its time for you to take a look at the other holy books.

Nor do people heve the power to CAUSE these events to occur! GOD HAS LEFT US TONS OF EVIDENCE in history, science, people, places, prophesy, etc. but people INTENTIONALLY REFUSE to do the RESEARCH

I think the Bible might be unreliable for other reasons too.
rkyeun 1 year ago
@rkyeun It doesn't say "pelted them with a 3 foot layer of dead birds". It says "there went forth a WIND from the Lord, and brought quails from the sea". That sounds like flight. There's no reason to assume that they died. In Exodus 16, it says "quail came and covered the camp". Do birds normally flock in such immense numbers or stack atop each other? No. But as far as anomalies go, this would not be the greatest that the world has ever seen.

@rkyeun self-contradiction?
Kynatics 11 months ago
@Kynatics
My apologies, those were entirely separate incidents. They don't contradict.
rkyeun 11 months ago
@rkyeun No problem, honest mistake. God was angry in Numbers 11 because the Israelites craved the food they used to eat as slaves and loathed the manna that He had been providing them with since Exodus 16. That's why the place in Numbers 11 is called Kibroth hattaavah - "Graves of Craving".
Kynatics 11 months ago
@Kynatics
Protein deficiency was not well known in those days. I don't know what exactly manna was, but it seems by all accounts to be a kind of unleavened bread. They were starving to death still and without knowing biology or nutrition were informed by their bodies that they craved meat, which they required to survive.
rkyeun 9 months ago
@rkyeun Given, there are some parts in the Bible that take some deep study to see why its not a contradiction but personally I have not found one yet. Can you throw one at me? I like talking logically to atheist, it helps me study more.
KesslersCross 9 months ago
@KesslersCross
We could go into the Earth being made before the stars, if you like. Or plants being made before the sun. Does it count as a contradiction in your mind if the Bible states something that is factually incorrect, or do you intend to spin it as metaphor?
rkyeun 9 months ago
@KesslersCross
Here's a nice one.
Acts 7.4 says that Abram didn't leave Haran until after his father died. Genesis 11.26 says that Abram's father was 70 years old when Abram was born, and Abram's father lived to be 205 (11.32). Clearly, then, Abram was at least 135 when he left Haran. Yet Gen.12.4 says he left Haran when he was only 75.
rkyeun 9 months ago
@KesslersCross
It's the sky, with clouds, where birds can go.
rkyeun 9 months ago
@rkyeun Oh yeah, that one has so many opinions who really knows. As usual though, if we look at all the verses around it we have pretty clear reasoning. They were two separate events, the first was creation of course with no Adam. The second One was where Adam saw God make the animals himself ( not all just one of each), and then Adam named them.
KesslersCross 9 months ago
@KesslersCross
Two creations? Okay, figure out which one is right, then strike the other one from the Bible.

More likely none of them are plausible, but some of them fit a Christian faith slightly better than rejecting it in favor of fact.

Galatians 6.2: Bear ye one another's burdens.
Galatians 6.5: Every man shall bear his own burden.

That must surely be the source of its truth, yes?
rkyeun 9 months ago
@rkyeun Sure, if you want to be ignorant and blind go for it. Not every answer is handed on a sliver platter. Just like the existance of God. Its easier to just say nope, he dosent exist yet?
KesslersCross 9 months ago
@KesslersCross
And when he says...
rkyeun 9 months ago
@rkyeun Well, I wont argue what cant be argued. Ok, then prove my theory isnt correct? Ill put it into shallow words bc it seems that is how you wish the Bible to be.God says he will confirm himself, he says you must follow a way for that to happen, If you choose not to follow that way, then you can not know the answer. So, unless you have followed it, its not yours to say.To me, its complete ignorance to dwell on something that has NOTHING to do with anything and miss the whole picture.
KesslersCross 9 months ago
@KesslersCross
Your theory is false.
rkyeun 9 months ago
@rkyeun You are far from your accusation my friend...far from it. I dont say believe like me, even christians dont agree on every passage. An ex christian atheist? Have you ever felt the spirit of God? I once was a Pastor then my sister was murdered..given, I have many more questions about the Bible than I did before but since I received the spirit Ive still never questioned his existance. I question many interpretations of the word, and have never claimed to understand it all but I know God
KesslersCross 9 months ago
@KesslersCross
I've felt what you call the spirit of god, yes.
You said "God says he will confirm himself, he says you must follow a way for that to happen, If you choose not to follow that way, then you can not know the answer." I don't think I've done a disservice in my paraphrasing of that.
Yes, if you never question his existence, it is very easy to not find out whether or not he exists.
rkyeun 9 months ago
@rkyeun I totally agree with the questioning part...to an extent. As a christian, I dont think its as wrong to question as most christians preach. God is big enough to prove himeself, and I dont think he wants mindless empty followers either. Ive even questioned the Bible because I dont by any measure understand it all. But, what I found was when I live the words it says, do the things it says...I see results, I feel him, to me, that makes it real.

Shouldn't that coat have been destroyed and never have seen Egypt?

charmme1 1 year ago
@charmme1 Yes, but you have to think from Yosef's point of view. It was a nice coat and his beloved father, Israel gave him it, and he cherished it; but he was a boy or young man when all of this happened and the coat itself was likely not a significant part of his ever so long life. (It wasn't the legendary coat during his lifetime that biblical reputation attributed.) Would he have gone through all of that for something that he probably didn't think of in the same way as we do in retrospect?

If you believe the bible you believe the bible - everything else is overkill. But if you want to know the truth press the stop button and go to a university.
This might convince the uneducated layman and bible believers, but has very little merit as a serious academic effort. Some of the things said are fairly easily debunked, the assumptions are more leaps of faith than anything else, and the "evidence" given is shaky to say the least.

So why didn't they die in the global flood, 4400 years ago???????????

Good explanations

ralph ellis uses the new chronology to support his theories that the biblical patriarchs were in fact egyptian pharaohs.
he also suggests there were 2 exoduses which were combined into 1 in the bible, the first occurring when the hebrew hyksos were defeated by abrahamic pharaohs of upper egypt in a civil war over apis- worship in the new age of aries and, the 2nd when akhenaten, aka moses, was driven from egypt after attempting to supplant all the gods with his own divine person, an autocracy

Egyptian Clay Tablets Found - 5000 Years Old
The flood was 4400 years ago. Why didn't the egyptians all die?
gregrutz 1 year ago
@gregrutz , biblical plagues were caused by a volcanic eruption on thera in 1620BC. count back another "sar", or 3,600yr cycle, to 5,200BC, the flood.
babylonians used astronomical cycles to measure time, i.e., a day, month, year, precession of the equinox, 26,000yrs. in their kings list, they used "sars", units of 3,600yrs, which is also the orbit of their 10th planet, nibiru, the destroyer.
people didn't all die tho civilizations collapsed; not the first time humans ended up in caves again.
mispistoleros 1 year ago
@mispistoleros So the bible is wrong when it says only 8 people survived the flood.
gregrutz 1 year ago
@gregrutz, the pentateuch is recycled sumerian and egyptian mythology with "hebrew" characters replacing the original protagonists. the rest is all about dynastic squabbles. while ralph ellis's theories are controversial, they make more sense than sarah having a child at 90. he asserts that the biblical patriarchs were, in fact, the hyksos dynasty, that jesus was the great-grandson of cleopatra and julius caesar and that biblical saul/paul was actually the historian, flavius josephus.
mispistoleros 1 year ago
@gregrutz, you might want to watch the following:
BIBLE: HISTORY OR HOAX XI - "NOAH'S FLOOD" OR OCCULT IDEOLOGY OF GENESIS - 2
you might want to watch the whole series but #2 deals directly with the flood.

@mispistoleros How can it deal with a global flood when there never was a global flood?
gregrutz 1 year ago
@gregrutz, the collapse of the bosphorus, leading to massive flooding of the black sea was just one of many catastrophes. myths from the chinese to the american natives all relate stories of flooding and doom.
mispistoleros 1 year ago
@mispistoleros Yes, there are lots of flood stories, and they all lived to tell about them. There was never a global flood, geology proves it.
gregrutz 1 year ago
@gregrutz No arguement at all friend, but there are two views on it. There is proof for it, and proof against it. Depends on what way you choose to look at it. Both are very compelling if you research it all with an open mind.

@mispistoleros Watch 'noah's flood debunked' and see why there is no evidence for a flood.
gregrutz 1 year ago
@gregrutz, i did; there's strong evidence for a catastrophic flood. they all didn't live to tell about it but those that lived, talked.
however, it wasn't "noah's flood"; the "noah" part is the only part which is easily debunked.

TheJoel2003...
#3 - It is quite futile to pursue the Bible as absolute truth when it is blatantly false in many claims.
onijester56 1 year ago
@onijester56 Keep telling yourself that.
TheJoel2003 1 year ago
@TheJoel2003

>>> Number 2- Name the other Holy books you are thinking of so that we can discuss their possible accuracies. And number 3- How is testing the bible a pointless pursuit? A good example of a pointless pursuit is staying up all night trying to beat a video game.
TheJoel2003 2 years ago
@TheJoel2003
Augustine's words in "Confessions"...use them for your own end.
onijester56 1 year ago
@TheJoel2003
First, I did not say "holy books"
Ovid's "Metamorphoses", Page 1: "the whole of nature...called Chaos; a crude, unstructured mass...composed of disparate, incompatible elements." And then on Mankind...Maybe by the Gods, maybe by the Earth, who knows.
Gilgamesh is a biography that encorporates mythology into the tale of King Bilgamesh of Ur. [Blatant historical value, fyi.]
onijester56 1 year ago
What would you know about "wickedness" since you attempt to deny the book that gave us the concept!? What!?..you trust only materialistic reality.. Evolution? You cannot make moral pronouncements. A true materialist must concede there is no right/wrongs..no "wickedness".
Also, the Bible does give us geneologies and the life spans of those named, and events in real history, the problem is the unreliable history of the Egyptians who (unlike the Israelites) were guilty of self laudatory propaganda.

As for documents apart from the bible concerning the resurrection, those do exist. And some have tried to add them to the bible. So the issue is not lack of documentation concerning the resurrection.
