Playing in blackface isn't acceptable. Not even if you're Angelina Jolie and have adopted kids of varying races and claim a family legend of supposed 1/393 that is completely undocumented by tribal records or the Dawes roll. It doesn't make you an honorary Black, nor does it make donning blackface alright.
Her accent in this movie is hilarious. Bad, but hilarious. She was horribly miscast in this film. No surprise about the Oscar snub.

I really hope AJ wins the Best Actress Oscar. A lot of reviewers claimed they cried while watching this film. Unfortunatley I didn't cry, but I was glued to the screen with AJ's emotional scenes. Lots of people say Cate Blanchett is going to win, but I think AJ deserves to win because it is rare for actors to be able to make audiences cry and feel sad emotions.
I cried. I felt it. When she went and the room and exploded with grief. I felt my heart just sink. I felt her pain so vividly. If she doesn't get a nom from the oscars, the golden globes will give her one. Isn't that Cate Blanchett movie about the Queen, why another one.
Cate has an Oscar for best supporting Actress from her role in the Aviator. I think Angelina's performance is deeper than Cate getting an Oscar for person she knows how to play. Sne played a queen once already. So unfair if Cate wins. we just have to wait and see. cross your fingers for the next five or six months.
If AJ doesn't win for AMH, hopefully she'll win or get nominated for The Changeling. It's better to get nominated each time, because it shows that you're a respected actress. i.e. Kate Winslet has been nominated for many Oscars, but has yet to win.
