Laughter Therapy

Why do some people get so upset when I switch from being upset to laughing.

Last week I couldn't laugh about Osama bin Laden's death. This week I saw something on FB that had a picture of him on a can that said 'Fish Food.'

I mentioned it was funny and someone bit my head off.

I can't help it, and he got a more respectful burial than my Partner did. They've never found any of his earthly remains.

I never could get my daughter to go to bed no matter what I tried.

She couldn't sleep in her room. I didn't find out until a long time later she was afraid to, b/c she thought a bogey man was living in her closet.

Fortunately, her dad found a solution to the problem.

He went in her room with an empty sack, made a big show of a fight going on, and returned with a full bag. He dragged it downstairs and outside.

She thought the bogey man had left and never had a problem sleeping in there again.

tickling my kids is a great way to release tension. i'm not sure if it's the laughter or having complete power over another being but it's great fun, and it's free until they grow up to be bigger than you.....

The laughter thing is well know to comedians. Most standups have a least a few friends in the audience to start the laughter off so others will follow. It's also why TV sitcoms have laugh tracks. And that was the first time I've heard the master denial.
