  • Who says Shatner cant act?? This is a very good performance, and not an easy role to play. The female actress who played Janice Lester did a good job as well.

  • I think we can all aspire to be a little more like Kirk, maybe I'll take some of that to far beyond the end of the series.

  • @ 29:44 "Securitaaaahhhh!" lol The red shirts even get it in the last episode.

  • @masterh8r LMFAO Bwahahahahahaha! We didn't even have internet when I was a kid let alone wireless anything, dvds, or even cds and that was just the 80s!

  • GAH Kirk's filing his nails! you'd think McCoy would find that a bit suspicious 0.o lol and nooooooo i want more Star Trek :( if i could watch 1000 more episodes i would!

  • @glowingaura185 Can't help you with 1000, but the franchise contains 705 episodes. They vary wildly in quality, of course.

  • @aperson22222 ok cool, thanx!

  • Ah the last one :(

  • *sigh* Why do all good things come to an end?

  • @assassin7999 because otherwise we would feel bored

  • hehe, Kirk talking about loving men~

    <3

  • This is one of those episodes I thought I either hallucinated or dreamed... so bizarre!

  • I'm sad. My Star Trek trek of watching all 3 seasons has come to an end =(

  • @ThriceThursday You should read the books....that's what I did. the written adaptations of the episodes, for example, have some extra stuff here and there that might be interesting. And then of course there's the movies, and the books about the movies. And then there's the whole world of non canon books. I'm not even halfway through my reading list.

  • Dammit... Capt. Kirk was acting like a real Capt. Jerk in this esipode..

  • A spirit taking over another’s body? We see it in Avatar, and stories told by Jesus about Demonic Possessions.

    Could it be true?

  • XD WOW longest video ive seen on youtube

  • I'm so sad, I've seen every episode of TOS now. =(

On to the animated series! =)

  • What a great episode. Thanks.

  • Freaky Friday Star Trek style.

  • kirk is a woman!

  • Uploaded Jun 03, 1969!!!!! I know that the day the episode came out but still! How to make the date when it came out must be because CBS is a partner or that this is a show or both.

  • i want more :'( this sucks!! i wish i would've been around when these were first coming out so i could have protested the discontinuing of the series!! "if only" is quite an appropriate line for kirk's farewell.... :'(

  • i wish the people off that time were smart enough to appreciate what they had. we could have had so many more seasons to cherish had the ratings at the time been better. but in a sense, maybe it was for the best. look how many other versions spawned of off the former improperly named flop of a show, how many movies, board games, books. but that doesnt change my desire for 1000 more episodes of TOS

  • Now I know why I hate this episode. It sucks.

  • @AceOfHeart2012 "My whole thing is that if you can't say something positive don't say anything at all. YOU'RE NOT HELPING" Taken from your own YT homepage. Why don't you go be a hypocrite somewhere else. And while you're at it, go wash that filthy ass hair.

  • @meph1975 Struck a nerve did I? So you have control issues eh? You might want to check into that at some point. By the way, my hair was clean in that photo. You only wish it was your hair. Sorry. No cigar.

  • @AceOfHeart2012 Struck a nerve? Perhaps. Two faced people are a pet peeve of mine. I just happened to point you out as one in spades and all you could do was try and reverse it on me as having issues. Bravo at failing on that one. And honestly, no thanks on the hair. The only people that like hair like that are mid life crisis folks stuck in the 80's hair band era. Maybe you can go hang out with Poison and bag you a chick desperately trying to reclaim her youth. Take care now.

  • @meph1975 It's only a television show for Christ's sake. Take the edge off already. I'll send you a coupon for a box of tampons Mary. Sounds like you have a bad case of chronic PMS. Jeez...

    Peace...

  • @AceOfHeart2012 Ah more dodging the issue. I don't know what's sadder, the fact that you went against your little personal code, or the fact that you can't admit it. Or maybe just the fact that I called you out on it and now you're trying to 'pwn' me with your inferior little insults. I feel really bad for you. You have my pity.

  • @meph1975 Are you cracking up? You're nutty. Anyone ever tell you that?

  • @AceOfHeart2012 Make up your mind will you? Are you asking me if I'm crazy or telling me? Get on the ball here Shemp. Which is it?

  • Why does the title of this episode remind me of Pheonix Wright?

  • Where'd Uhura go?

  • I have spent the last few weeks watching every single TOS episode. What a fantastic show! I love you Kirk, Spock, and McCoy! Live Long and Proper!

  • @22hailfire you were born in georgia, werent you?

  • @JimmytheTexan1441 no not even close!

  • the baseline that drops at 28:35 is kind of funky

  • Harry Landers plays Dr. Arthur Coleman. He was the original spokesperson for Taster's Choice Coffee in 60s and 70s, and also played Dr. Ted Hoffmann in the BEN CASEY television series.

  • this video was terrible

    1. 12 minutes in I had to sit thru a 59 second birth control commercial

    2. the volume of the commercial overdrove my speakers

    3. the the video went to error

CBS - I am firing you right now

This is the last star trek i watch on this channel

  • Yea, but can she handle peeing standing up?

  • It bothers me that it occurred to no one that mindsets are different at the start of a captaincy compared to several years in. So it's perfectly logical that she had the same mindset in Kirk's body as Kirk did several years ago - shouldn't that have tipped them off? It was still a good episode.

What a bittersweet end of an era.

  • Willian shatner is the mad noochy pimp.

  • spock rules!!

  • spock is awesome.

  • This was the very last episode of the original series.

  • who watches a vid that long =O

  • lol at 16:50 Doctor Lester/Kirk is filing his/her nails. One would think that Dr. McCoy would notice that and sense something was off...as men generally do not file their nails.

  • @AFriendOfJesus1. "men generally do not file their nails" Shatner does. so did John Wane and Nemoy. If you don't file your nails they become sharp as razers and as ugly as my nails.

  • @BondFreek but you don't generally see a star ship captain (at least not in this series) filing their nails......or anyone else on the ship for that matter........

  • @AFriendOfJesus1. just because you don't see it it does not mean it does not happen. You don't see Kirk taking a crap. That does not mean that he does not.

  • I file my nails.

  • Shatner won his first Emmy for his performance in this episode.

  • At 08:39 watch Kirk's reaction when Scotty mentions the name 'Doctor Lester', he almost blows his cover. Brilliant acting by Shatner here !!! It is the little things like this that separate a good actor.....from a great one.

  • Comment removed

  • What would being a girl do with helping Sulu? Just because the actor is gay does not mean he is a femboy. What a rediculous thing to say!

  • One of Shatner's best acting displays.

  • Oh sh*t, this is the one where Kirk gets a sex change. He turns into Hillary Clinton LOL!

  • 38:00 Wow, Kirk can REALLY throw a bitch fit can't he.

  • yeah, amazing performance for so early in his career

  • 14:30, apparently she didn't figure on how much of a pain in the ass Spock could be LMAO.

  • Notice how she said "Captain Kirk to Enterprise."

  • She just wasn't hot enough for Kirk.

  • This is one of the best episodes I've seen.

  • You should probably watch more episodes...

  • Chekov and Sulu are so darn cute 2gether!!!

  • man i wouldt trust that damn quack. but then again kirk is now that bitch.

  • i am buying it

  • just cause your friends doesnt mean you can have sex and it not be Gay you tard!!

  • *sigh* How sad, last episode of Star Trek TOS =P This really needed at least 2 more seasons!

  • One of the best episodes!

  • Spock could have sex with Kirk and it wouldn't be gay... SO weird!!

  • What the fuck are you talking about?

  • Well if you look up Star Trek slash vids... there is a certain group of people who want to see Kirk and Spock do it... just saying... if they secretly loved eachother... Kirks in a female body... wouldn't be gay... would kinda make for a good episode :D

  • Who and In what episode the phrase "Tri-dinmensional Chess is a highly logical game..." appear on?

Can any one help me on this?

  • @avsiii Charlie X, season 1

  • Well, I just seen "Charlie X". But, the phrase "Tri-dimensional Chess is a highly logical game..." is not on Charlie X season 1, episode 2.

  • @avsiii Really? I thought Spock said it right before he and Charlie start playing. Sorry

  • I though so as will - I don't know if they cut that out or what....

But, thanks - Right now I'm trying to watch the whole episodes in all three seasons and find that phrase.

  • I'm surprised she didn't use Kirk's body to rape her own body...

Wait a minute, what the fuck I'm talking about....!!!

  • See that guys? There's a reason you want to stay away from ex-girlfriends. Don't get temporarily paralyzed by the powerful, enticing thoughts of the pussy.

  • Amazing.

  • Yes! Miri was the older girl! I have seen all three seasons of shows and haven't seen that one?

Do you know the shows name?

  • Is this all of the episodes?

I've watched all three seasons and there seems to be one missing.

The one where there are a group of children hiding and they get skin disease as they grow older. Any help?

  • @tlareng Sounds like you're talking about "Miri". It is posted on here.

  • yeah there are at least 2 or so missing from each season on here

  • I think it would be obvious something is wrong with Jim...he rarely ever says Doctor McCoy in succession without adding "Bones" to the mix.

  • Wow! Kirk was acting like a broad... LOL

  • Here comes the finale...but the end is only the beginning of an everlasting legend...

  • It really pisses me off that Star Trek was cancelled after only 3 seasons. If only it lasted the full 5 seasons :(. At least this show has the greatest legacy of any sci-fi show, if not any show in existance.

    Long live Star Trek

    From: a loyal fan.

    Thank you CBS

  • @PCpete101 i know huh it was supposed to be a 5 year mission!

  • @PCpete101 this was a great show, it did need more seasons. But hey, Star trek TNG is pretty good!

  • @PCpete101 what really pisses me off, is that I saw a rick roll video with more views than this (it had over 30 million!!!). But seriously you are right, the 5 year mission SHOULD have atleast lasted two years!!! But it was good while it lasted I guess **sigh**

  • @xenomorph856 lol my mistake, it should have at lasted 5 years

  • @PCpete101 Well yes it had an awesome legacy. Sci-Fi today wouldn't be the same without it. But it sucks. It's predictable, cliche, etc. It's legacy started things like all of the other star treks, star wars, other sci-fi movies and shows.

  • @PCpete101 I don't think shatner's waistline could have handled the full five seasons

  • @jdskinny212 True, true. But he's so sexy still....esp that ass of his!

  • I can't imagine that Kirk wouldn't have spent at least a day in a woman's body playing with his own boobs.

  • Where is Uhura?

  • emotional instability and irratic mental attitude....a woman even in a man body.

  • It's obvious you've never been inside a woman's body.

  • thank God!

  • lol finaly the last episode -.-...ugh...isnt it enough evidence that vulcans cant tell a lie?

  • Interesting, I wonder who wrote this episode--a man or a woman? "It's better to be dead than alone in the body of a woman" I never thought a woman might feel this way. Is it true? Women seem to treasure companionship even before reason; is this why?

  • Nah that's just 1960's sexism at it's finest.

  • bill plays this just right, flamming!

  • 38:45-you heard it lmao,omg!!I played that back,then 38:36-IT IS MUTINY,LOL OMG!!!

  • What a great summer this has been. I hadnt seen any of these shows for years and I watched every episode this summer. Bravo. Best series ever.

  • Posterity will watch these just to see what it was like "back then"... in the future. ("back then... in the future")

The final lines [ever spoken by ST-TOS]...

[Kirk (to Scotty and Spock as they watch a broken Lester being led away):] I didn't want to destroy her.

[Spock:] I'm sure we all understand that.

[Kirk (contemplative):] Her life could have been as rich as any woman's, (pause, as they turn) if only...

(They walk down opposite corridor to elevator while classic theme swells.)

    FINI

  • Interesting coincidence for posterity to grapple with...

The first episode aired is about a succubus female who exploits men's desires.

The last show filmed was this 'turnabout intruder'.

Generally few in western culture were grappling with female behavior and implications of the social changes. But interesting to note ST's take on females.

  • Balance of Terror. [Tyrie's?] chick is another piece of work.

  • I have seen all the episodes again as I did when I was a kid. Kind of sad that my revisit to Trek has ended. Scratch that for I will start over again. Missing episodes can be seen at Hulu or Fancast.

  • I would have loved to see an episode with kirk/Rand making out with each other.

  • These are definitely not all the episodes of TOS that aired. What about "I, Mudd," for instance?

  • Teehee.

    Spock hold's Kirk's (in Janice's body) hand when he's escaping with him/her.

    *gigglegiggle* <3

  • I so totally caught that too! =o

  • X3 I know *giggle* thats why i wanted to see this epi LOL

  • Sorry I accidently thumbs downed your comment meant to thumbs up :( so sorry

  • Well, I've seen all the TOS episodes, and

growing up watching the reruns, I am surprised of how many episodes I hadn't seen before. Star Trek TOS is the best TV series ever! It's a shame NBC seemed really dim witted to not continue the series on a more popular time other than Friday nights at 10 PM. I love the main actors. They did an awesome job. The stories were in a classical Greek style, as Shatner mentioned in TVlegends interview. The men and women were very attractive. Live long...

  • Also, regarding the missing Uhura: Nichols had a singing gig when they were filming this one. She wasn't "squeezed out" by any execs wanting to leave the show with a "white face." She was making more money elsewhere.

She was smart. The network told the show halfway through the season that #3 would be the last, so if she's already making her money for the show why not go get some more lining up a job on top of it? It's not like she hadn't missed other eps, and it didn't kill her Uhura career.

  • "Also, regarding the missing Uhura: Nichols had a singing gig when they were filming this one. She wasn't "squeezed out" by any execs wanting to leave the show with a "white face." She was making more money elsewhere."

Yeah, it just goes to show that no matter what you try at being PC, you're going to be blamed for it. The political correctness game is one that is ultimately unwinnable.

  • To those who complain that this is some kind of sexist episode: The girl was nuts. It wasn't that there REALLY was no way for a woman to have any power in Starfleet (look at the "Metamorphosis" episode, or how well-adjusted Uhura was, particularly in "The Savage Curtain."), Dr. Lester never made the cut and she blamed Kirk and herself--more particularly her femininity--instead of accepting it. Kirk sounded like he agreed with her just to be nice 'cause he thought she was dying. Boy was he wrong.

  • Oh, Captain Kirk you dirty womanizing sexist ... wait, I thought that Gene Roddenberry set his show in a more enlightened future! So how come there is a woman in it that feels that she was cheated out of a captaincy because of her gender? Did Gene think that this would still be a problem in the 23rd century?

  • Gawd, Janice's eyes are so sexy in this... wait a second... or are those Kirk's eyes that are sexy...?

  • Bill did an excellent job portraying an emotionally turbo charged estrogenized female, but Sandra Smith's interpretation of Kirk should have included the trademark pauses and over emphasis on the lines that Shatner was famous for!

At 34:41: "No... I am NOT... captain Kirk... that is... very apparent, I CLAIM... that whatever it IS... that MAKES... James Kirk a living being... special to himself is being held... HERE... in this body!" Ha, Ha, can you just picture it?

  • vicctorknight, YOU ... have managed TO ... SIMULATE ... Kirk's diction ... extraordinarily well. You obviously know ... a great deal ... YES ... a GREAT DEAL ... about ... the Shatner mystique.

  • nice!

  • Comment removed

  • this is not the last episode

  • @MrSpecies847two yes, sadly, it WAS the last episode

  • this sucks:

that was one of shatner's best performances,

the action was intense, seeing as the crew had never really organized serious mutiny before,

BUT IT WAS THE LAST EPISODE! T_T

....so not cool. damn TV networks...

  • I know! serioulsy! I always hated barf shields and now we have to watch her blab about her dental hygene problems!

  • I am so SICK of seeing Brooke Shields talk about toothpaste. HOW THE HELL DOES SHE NOT KNOW WHICH TOOTHPASTE TO USE WITHOUT ADVICE? Insipid woman.

  • Different commercials now, hun.

  • one of the best episodes!!!

  • kirk (in lesters body) didnt seem very much like himself either, he was pretty damn quiet in this episode for all the crap that happened to him. i was expecting him to start yelling/ punching people out in this episode but it never came

  • knowledge of destruct sequence would prove it

  • Spock has such quick reflexes when he nerve pinched the security crewman. He's so sexy I can't stand it! *SIGH*

  • shatner was excellent in this episode!!! he had me cracking up!! especially with the nail filing at 16:50, the walking at 18:52, and the YOU WILL OBEY MY ORDERS rant!!! LOL

  • Who would have thought that Bill would have saved his best performance for his last appearance in this series ? Good job Bill !

  • I love how no matter what happens Kirk always records captains log. Even when he is trapped in a womans body

  • wow. now thats what i call karma! all those years of womanizing... kirk broke her heart all that time ago and it came back and almost killed him.

  • should have had sulu taken over by the woman, it is what he always dreamed of

  • this was a good last episode =D

    *presses favorite button*

  • Agreed

AWESOME awesome episode, from the roller coaster ride of the power struggle to the excellent portrayal of janice and kirk. Loved every miniute of it. Kirk was the best tho, seeing him camping it up and filing his nails at 16:55 was heaven :) Methinx he doth that too well lol.

Oh yeh and the best piece of incidentel music at 28:30 I have ever heard in star trek. that baseline kicks ass.

All these things add up to make it my current all time favourite episode in the series so far.

  • Did Uhura have the week off?

  • There needs to be a gap between the beginning of the stream and the advertisements. First time I loaded the page I had to wait 30 seconds before finding out the video wasn't going to buffer unless I refreshed.

  • this is so intense. tv shows are not this good anymore!

  • the acting in this episode is phenominal

  • 4:54 when "jim" says "you had the strength to do it" i imagined her(?) saying "but u didn't have the balls to do it!" lol

47:09 is that a giant turd in that container?

Spock is my favorite Star Trek character for all time!

  • I love how loyal Spock is to Kirk

  • I always thought that episide when they meet the little person that shows them around his ship in the last scene was the last episode.

    But now I know better.

  • I liked this episode. It had a bit of everything: love triangle, suspense, murder, mutany, male-bonding, professional loyalty.

Bill did a great job acting not like Kirk. I liked it.

  • I tell you!

Checkov is bald! he has a comb over!!

  • Checkov should get a start on the holywood walk of fame.

  • I don't mean to be crude, but I am curious.

Does the interest in female body remain when a man is placed in a woman's body?!

If that is the case, then that opens up so many more questions!

  • Of course!

I'm FTM, so I am literally a man trapped in a woman's body. And I like chicks.

  • magnifico!! =P

  • kool!

  • 14:08- thats not chekov 8/ IMPOSTER!

16:50- lol he's (or i guess she's) filing kiriks fingernails

Great ep. shat. really pulled off good acting for a season fanali. =( the last ep.

  • Rodenberry was ingeninus, save the best 4 last

Classic textbook example of a new world order

the government is not above the constitution

  • Sulu: I will fight security anyway I can!!

*Sulu gets out his sword, Pirates of the Caribbean music stars to play and he goes fencing against the crew*

    8D

  • Wow, who knew Shatner could act? Great ep, although the ending was a little disappointing, given all the build-up with talks of mutiny and such.

The way the transference back just sort of happened on its own and Spock/Bones/Scotty didn't do anything was an anticlimactic fizzle. Oh well.

  • One of my favorites here.

  • Geez, and I thought my ex was a nutcase...Kirks old flame takes the cake!

  • I agree with you on that.

  • What a way to end a series. In which this desparate bitch switch souls with Capt. Kirk. This episode is the last of the 79 episodes of Star Trek Which ran for 3 good but underappriciated years on TV.

  • I love all the women's outfits.

  • They (the crew) should have known right away that it was not Captian Kirk in the fact that he was not trying to suduce the Episode's Guest Female!
