  • when will the IAAF finally delete this hurricane WR??? the real WR should be her 10.61 for jesus' sake

  • The haters can say what they want, simply the greatest sprinter of all time. Working two jobs, working out at 12, 1am, amazing athlete and person.

  • this is the moment everyone should realise what a liar she was, all day the wind was blowing way way over the limit but in this one heat no doubt because of a fault she ran 10.49 in 0.0 then said the wind was down in an interview after and that she knew the wind was down and went fo it... well done flo jo on the greatest one year any athlete has had in history!

  • Youngins today can't touch that legend FLO JO!

  • @MontereySands Because they don't touch drugs.

  • fantastic ass. if you dig that up now, it'll still be nicer than most

  • Ion know about steriods she's not all bulky and Everything like

most illegal runners. Honestly i think she was just fast

probably took suppliments but steroids i doubt it.

She would be ALOT MORE MUSCULAR.

' Rip Flo Jo ' ...... i think it was hard work

  • @Slayton701 i agree with you....she isnt muscular.....not one bit.....she actually very sleek......hard work paid off....she was actually pretty too....very rare with women sprinters.....RIP

  • gail dievers was not in the race stupid.

  • I think that American athletes have always doped themselves...but they manage always to avoid getting caught in one way or another...if you get caught then it should be lifetime ban from the sport

  • These insulting comments about Flo Jo are all coming from jealous white people.

  • @truthfulexposure I am white and I made a tribute to Flo on my blog - she is my all time best female athlete

  • Well the record has finally been broken... 23 years later in Brussels.

  • @MAGICCITYGA Wrong, buddy. The record still stands and will NEVER be broken. Definitely not by all these spoiled kids today!

  • @MontereySands I stand corrected. lol

  • She is so sexy... always love Flo Jo. Repeatedly watch 46-49 seconds for a slight rise in body temperature.

  • just because she can beat all of y'all doesn't mean she cheated. she was a beast. Go Flo Jo!

  • Y'all really need to quit. The last time I checked, Florence Griffith-Joyner died of an epileptic seizure in her sleep. She had a birth defect in her brain which left her prone to seizures -- had a grand mal in 1990 and had some more in 1993 and 1994.

  • @crich79761...there will never be proof. She's dead....died in her sleep at a young age...steroids will do that to you lol

  • The "records" set in womens athletics during the 1980's are, I'm sad to say, an absolute JOKE. None worse than the USA's "Flo Jo" at 100m and 200m, closely followed by the 400m and 800m "records" set by Jarmila Kratochvílova. These 4 "records" will never be beaten. An absolute disgrace and embarrassment to the sport, and deep down everyone knows it.

  • @togjuice The dirtiest women's world record in my opinion is the 3000 meter world record of 8:06. No women has approached that time since it was done. Wang Junxia destroyed the former world record of 8:22 by 15 seconds! That's ridiculous. No women running clean will ever be able to run that fast.

  • @togjuice Totally agree, although Kratochvílová's 400m record was surpassed by another notorious drug cheat in Marita Koch. These athletes should've been running against the men.

  • STEROIDS

  • Fuck me, she was on drugs, fair enough she never failed a drugs test but neither did Marion jones and we all know what happend to her, is it no a coincidence that the 100, 100 hurdles, 200, 400, 800 world records haven't come close to being broken and it took a dodgy performance in 93 in the 1500 for that record to be broken which did stand from 1980. What are the women just not training hard enough now, sports science has moved on alot since the, you do the math.

  • @idontsignin not to mention some records in womens throws..

  • @tonicmass forgot to mention that and also the jumps. long jump is 7.69 i think which was also set in the 80's no woman has got close to that appart from maybe dreschler and jjk which you also have to put a question mark against both of them as well. the heptathlon record is another 1, in the triple jump kravets was proven to have taken drugs. patterns are certainly emerging. i believe in the womans events their records should be reset cause they will in all probabillity never be broken.

  • @idontsignin I think at least that records should be eraseed if they're set by someone who's caught for doping in some way. Womens shotput also ridicilous. ANd oh yes, Jackie- Joyners records as you mentioned. I think the big differances between womens results in 80's and now is so much bigger than the mens, cause they have so much to "benefit" from doping, not the same huge effects on the mens result, probably

  • Wow just wow

  • wheneve a world record is set they should gt tested

  • There is no proof she was using any type of drugs... It's all just talk.. Until there's proof, she will continue to hold the world record in the womens 100m. Give props to where they're due!!!!

  • @crich79761 Do you need a weather man to tell you when it's pissing down? Her dramatic change in physique. combined with a sudden dramatic increase in her PB's were just ridiculous. Her retirement from the sport (still relatively young) was coincidently just before random drug testing was brought in. The only person who has ever got any where near the same time was Marion Jones - another drug cheat.

  • Regardless of the drug questions: Look at that official's flag behind the start line, and the bibs on their backs as they go into the blocks. That's a stiff wind.

  • I dont know why there are haters, She was never caught on any Enhance drugs that give her advantage, She was clean and always was, u cant assume assumption without any evidences, give her the props she deserved her record is still standing and isn't likely to be broken anytime soon. R.I.P Florence Griffith-Joyner

  • @duuqnaagtan1

she was a great athlete, you can see the perfect technique, but still, just as a hint,.....years ago the doping comitee tested all samples from men's 100m 1988 Seoul olympics, i think only one athlete wasn't positive and that wasn't Carl Lewis,....the doping drugs are always 2-3 steps in front of the doping comitee,.....still,...i can assure that even on best drugs i couldnt run as fast as she could,.....rather played basketball;)

  • I don't understand how 10.49 she set is taking out from the world record due to wind wtf bias white motherfuckers.

  • marion jones was built like a male on steroids couldnt even come close to this record..............you people are ignorant and in huge denial. May Flo still R.I.P though

  • Hey, her race here equals to a 9.49 sec men's race... there is a second among men and women... this is much greater than Usain Bolt's 9.58 sec... But Flojo's 200 WR of 22.34 from 1988, equals to an impressive 19.34 men;s time (there are 2 seconds among men and women), . This WR was very alike to MJ;s 19.32 sec's WR from 1996, which lasted for 12 years... Usain 19.19 sec race from 2009, equals a 21.19 secs race for women. Flojo still is the most dominant sprinter of all time, including men.

  • THEY SAY HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF...WELL THIS HAS YET COME TO PAST YET!!!!! GIRL WAS A BEAST!

  • Even after, that wind isn't even blowing her hair in front of her face let alone being capable of carrying her ass down the track

  • She got a nice ass ;)

  • @KingCaleb12 she died u dickhead

  • @duuqnaagtan1 ok well when she was alive she was fine!!!

  • She was amazing!

  • She NEVER failed a drug test and her autopsy showed NO drug use and also showed that her death had nothing to do with drugs. Some people always have to tear the winners down to cover for their own inadequacy.

  • wtf yall seen that she hit the matrix at like 70 meters (go back at see it)

  • She was an average athlete til she started taking drugs. 10.49 has never been equalled and soem men would not acheive that time. She was a cheat and ultimately paid the price. But it says much more about America. Just think of the lot of them - men and women, Marion Jones included.

  • @msrseps2 stop crying the record stands

  • @2011c Get over yourself, face facts. She was a complete cheat and she paid the price.

  • @msrseps2 she holds the world record, i repeat she holds the world record, nothing you have to say matters,AND WONT CHANGE THE FACT SHE HOLDS THE WORLD RECORD!

  • @2011c Nothing you say will change that fa t that sehw as a cheat and that she DIED prematurely> I think I'd rather play fair and suirvive

  • @msrseps2 actually, she died from asphyxiation in her sleep due to having a seizure, which was brought on by congential brain abnormality (cavernous angioma) and this could not be attributed to PED use. i dont know where u got PED use = death from. please if u could enlighten me, thanks.

  • PED

  • she could have ran under 10 seconds if she cut that giant mop on her head

  • My mistake. Williams went public in 1989.

  • Her lack of pure speed was why she was a 200 meter specialist.

All of a sudden, she runs 1/4 second faster than the World Record.

Sprinters don't improve by 4/10 or 5/10 of a second late in their careers.

She knew what the doping program used by Coach Chuck D did to former UCLA sprinter Diane Williams. Banned-for-life coach D.

I watched it all happen at UCLA and Santa Monica tracks. Watched her train before and after.

    She should have known better.

    She was a nice kid.

  • She was a career 11.0 sprinter, like cal said.

Her lack of pure speed was why she was a 200 meter specialist.

All of a sudden, she runs a quarter second faster than Evelyn, who trained at the same UCLA track as Florence.

Sprinters don't improve by 4/10 or 5/10 of a second late in their careers.

FloJo knew what Chuck Debus did to former UCLA sprinter Diane Williams. She should have known better. She was a nice kid.

  • we miss her

  • She was a career 11.0 100 meter sprinter. Always pretty good but never the best. She ran for several years as a pro sprinter with her best times always around 11.0 to 11.1.

Then all of a sudden one year indoor she starts winning and during an interview at one indoor meet she is asked about her new success and she says she has been adding more strength training and working with Ben Johnson's strength coach (this was prior to Ben getting busted).

  • Then in the outdoor season she lowers her 100 meter PR by half a second. Well actually .3 of a second (huge in the 100) then gets the wind-aided flyer in the WR race to give her the last .2 seconds.

FloJo was alot more muscular during her record year then earlier in her career. She then retires from track after her record breaking year. How many athletes retire after their best year?

  • from 0:44 to 0:48 .. wow .... : P

  • Unfortunately US sprinting history is a sad litany of drugs cheats.

  • @runningshoe1

I hate to break out some basic math for you, but due to its much smaller population Jamaica has a much, much higher frequency of drug cheats than the U.S. At it's current rate of conviction, if Jamaica were 100 times larger (about the size of the U.S.), it would have about 1200 cases.

Actual facts are a helluva reality check, huh?

  • @runningshoe1 I'm American and I will be the first to say that you are right. Our national motto should be "If you're not cheating you're not trying" haha

  • @runningshoe1 Except for her. Unless you can prove it....

  • she had a tornado behind her back in this race

  • God, i have always tried to believe she was clean but there is absolutely no way, It just doesnt look right in anyway.

  • Flo Jo was one of Americas greatest female runners of all time and had one of the most beautiful bodies in track and field!!!!

  • No. She was never proven to have taken steroids.

  • @thegoodrevdr

so? it was never proven that the chinese girls used steroids either in the 1500m, 3000m and 10000m either.

  • Steroids

  • she just seemed to flow down the track

  • Drugs!!!!!!!!

  • @adz09ish she's gone.

  • @gregamponsa i know

  • GREATEST SPRINTER EVER!!!!!

  • Steriods

  • hot

  • Don't hate guys, some people are just that fast, remember mike powells long jump world record he did it once and never again the wind was illegal most of the time but when he took his jump it was calm so that's just God doing what he does best

  • I can't believe for someone who suppose to of used steroids could look so feminate and beautiful.

  • Death by steroids.

  • wrong... epilepsy attack

  • Oh please. Stevie Wonder could see she juiced.

  • and now she's dead...

  • SOUNDS LIKE SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST HATING ON FLO JO

  • right

  • haha in the slow mo replay, check out the girl in the inside lane, what the hell is wrong with her arms?

  • Who's to say if she was on drugs or not? Nobody knows. And nobody will know. Realistically with 2nd and 3rd being under 11 secs, youre talking a little over 2 steps here. The only thing that seems weird to me about it is in mens track, it seems the WR is smashed every other year or so. Yet no woman has ever come close to this still. But what have we learned about athletes an drugs (especially w/baseball).if some are doing it, most of them are doing it. So do I even care if she was? NOT AT ALL.

  • FLO JO is a fucking monstar may she rest in peace

  • Imagine if she ran that without all that hair, my god she could have posted a 10.3- possibly.

  • this woman was beautiful

  • Maybe Flojo was on steriods but, people don't realize much hard work she did to get to where she was. It's sad the way her life ended like it did but, 10:49 that record will never be broken. Flojo R.I.P.

  • just like how she took a yr off, trained hard and came back, ran wr, why then didn't she come back after 88?Okay she retired because she wanted to start a family, she was 28,plus with the accusations, coincidence, just as mandatory testing came about. Why didn't she come back and defend her title, get tested a kick ass again?Who wouldn't want to defend their title, it's not like she won in 84, and wasn't motivated. tHIS LOOKS LIKE SHE HAD SOMETHING TO HIDE.

  • "cannot be no one can on that fast" yes sir no women can't run that fast..the fastest a women suppose to run is 10.60s..even though usain bolt run under what scientist has stated we was born with natural talent, breaking records as a teenager, shit anyone at 17yr of age who run under 20sec for 200m was born to be fast period...the ones who came out of no where and running fast times are the cheaters.

  • @flashysplashy In the same post you mention how one person has been able to do what scientists say can't be done. In that instance, it's understood. But because FloJo did it, you label her a drug cheat. I don't know if FloJo used anything. I know what I suspect. But that's nothing. She said she worked out like a mad woman between the 87 and 88 seasons. It's been over 20 years and no one anywhere has come out with any proof.

  • @CHEETAH69 yes and also stated one was breaking record at young age so it will be no suprise if run some of fastest time anyone as seen..listen flo take 1year off and came back with faster time. now from what i know becuase i use to run aswell when a person take 1yr off they're not ging to come back with faster time in their first few races okay..proof? why did she leave right when iaaf was going to inforce random drug test?she saying running wasnt her dream soshe leave to do acting etc

  • @flashysplashy why would you workout so hard to be the fastest women the world and then say oh running not my dream wtf that dont make no sense..plus she had the chance to do the drug test right after she retire to prove he innocence but she didnt..plus no one never going to prove it because shes dead

  • @flashysplashy, she wanted to have a family and have kids with her husband. She retired at 30, which frankly is in the older range for sprinters anyway. Also, if a woman is going to have kids, it gets harder and harder passed 30. What exactly is so difficult to understand about her retirement?

And it doesn't fall on her to "prove her innocence" just as no person should ever have to "prove their innocence." If someone makes an allegation they should damn well back it up. Can you? No.

  • @jdlund she's a cheat, and that how it going to be and stay until a scientist create a time machine and prove me wrong.that's the end of this discussion.

  • @flashysplashy What are you talking about? She didn't take one year off. She ran in 1987. In fact, she got a gold and a silver from the WC. Once more, I'm not saying I know that she was clean or not. I'm just picking apart your argument and reasons.

  • What a shame, she sold her soul to the drugs for fame and fortune and they ultimately cut her life short..... thats the price she was willing to pay

  • wuaaa buena voz nena

  • How many km\h???

  • fastest ever n she look good

  • I know that Diane Williams finished second with 10.86, Gail Devers third with 10.97, and Chrystie gaines fourth, certainly about 11.13.

  • its proven that she took sterodis

  • does somebody know which are the times of the other girls in this race? please post it

  • there was wind! you see it on the hair of the woman that prepares for the start and at joyners hair at 0:50 minutes of this video. anyway that´s a proof that the wind was not exactly at 0,00 like the electronics of the anemometer said. does anybody agree with me?

  • @diegoribasx You're probably right. There probably was a malfunction. But things like hair movement and flag waving can't be determining factors. No one can go back and say that the gauge was broken and then nullify the record.

But you're probably right about the 200. Today's top women seem hard pressed to get 21.9, let alone 21.3. Felix isn't explosive enough. VCB isn't strong enough. Of all the chicks since Flo Jo, I think Marion Jones had the best chance. And we know how that turned out.

  • @diegoribasx My bad. I included my response to puljacina to you too. But I'll say again, things like hair movement and flag waving can't be ruled as proof that the wind gauge was broken. At the same time she's run 10.62 and 10.61 legal. So 10.49 isn't so far off.

  • I don't know if she juiced (ok maybe the really smart part of me does know) But I do know that I saw this run when I was but a wee little boy and this one race changed me. Weird? Sure. But I had never seen such a combination of speed, power, elegance, grace, beauty and sheer athleticism in one person. She was phenomenal that year and it still sends chills up my spine all these years later.

  • @CHEETAH69 and dont forget the huge tornado she had in this 10.49 race

  • @puljacina To be honest with you, it's STILL astounding. To see a woman move that quickly is an amazing thing to witness. 10.4 for goodness sake!!! No woman with wind or with drugs has been able to come close - EVER!!!

  • @CHEETAH69 her technique was amazing but the real WR should be her 10.61!!! even her 10.54 in seoul was wind aided.the REAL 100WR isnt untouchable in my opinion, even jeter came pretty close with her 10.64 but the real untouchable time is her 21.34!!!!!!!!! jones,ottey,campbell-brown,koch,felix,torrence all great 200m runners and no1 came even close to it. the female 200WR will stand for another 20 or more years!! trust me..

  • @puljacina you're probably right about the 200. Today's top women seem hard pressed to get 21.9, let alone 21.3. Felix isn't explosive enough. VCB isn't strong enough. Of all the chicks since Flo Jo, I think Marion Jones had the best chance. And we know how that turned out.

  • @puljacina -looking at insane bolt i think 21.3 can be broken within 6 years among the women.

  • @VOISMAGRSD naah i think if felix stays healthy she will run a 21.5 max.!! you can compare 21.34 with koch's 47.60 ..untouchable times

  • @VOISMAGRSD 21.3 will not be touched within the next 15 years. Bet on it. Did you see how difficult it was for any woman to reach 21.9 THIS year?

  • @CHEETAH69 damn right! and the girls complain that they dont get the attention like the male sprinters? they should start runnin atleast in the 21.6s or even in the 21.5s.even ottey ran in the 21.6s into a headwind and in cold weather on much slower tracks

  • @puljacina I don't know if better coaching, drugs, or more desire were the reasons, but it seems like women 10-15 years ago were faster. We had Ottey, Devers, Torrence, Privalova, Arron running consistent 10.7s and 10.8s. In the 200 sub-22 seemed to be more common as well.

  • she is a great athlete but she died when she was 39 years!sudendly her hurt broke!

  • dope

  • one of my favourite videos. this is something for history. an everlasting record. and her body is just great to look at. i´m also searching the world record video of yordanka donkova in the 110m hurdles, which is also an everlasting world record. i can find in in youtube. does anyone of you know which tv-channel in bulgaria filmed that that time? or if someone finds it, please mail me here.

  • today the fastest women barely run below 11secs... this is blitz fast for any woman ever

  • looks like a cross wind judging by her hair and the flag the guy is holding in lane 5

  • Is it just me or is the flag the guy is holding in lane 5 blowing in the face of the athletes? Either he's a magician or this was not wind aided...

  • On wiki, the wind is at zero.. so.

  • Look at flo-jos ass

  • just to correct most people, Flo Jo did not die from taking steroids. She died from a seizure and the coroner who carried out her autopsy confirmed that there was no indication that the seizure was induced by performance enhancing drugs.

This does not, however, mean that she did not take any performance enhancing drugs during her career.

Unfortunately I do beleive that she was taking drugs when this record was set, because just as the commentator syas at 0.58... NO ONE CAN RUN THAT FAST.

  • DRuggie !! On the Juice scum !!

  • i dont think its strange she stoped runnig just as new drug tests came about

  • That is unfair to say that she was no doubt on something. It would seem

Likely she was butbnever tested positive for anything. If we just look at numbers then one could say that bolt is on something giving how much faster he is than anyone else. Clean or not ? Very fast either way

  • steroids its tragic. she dies fore the steroids

  • Another black drug cheat...

  • Someone said they believe Ottey was using, be sensible. If she was, she wouldn't be in such good shape and running at European championship at age 50, drugs would have messed up her body long ago, like how i heard its doing Carl Lewis. He can't step on a track with Ottey, and i think Ottey at 50 could give 2004 olympic champion Nesterrenko or even Zhanna a good run for their money.Lot at Ottey's stats, she was one if not the most consistent f sprinter with her times, even during drug allegations.

  • This was prime drugs era,Us weren't the only ones using and i don't think they started it. If you look, you will realize that most of the sprint records were set between 85-88, some still stands today. So its not unusual for people to suspect her, she could have been fast, but she did things and her sudden death made it more suspicious. She wasn't super like how Bolt showed at 16 yo, even in 84/87 she wasn't super, her voice sounds masculine. Not clear if she was clean or not.

  • I don't trust Us, none does. They covered Carl Lewis drug tracks and presented him to the world as a top sprinter. Why couldn't they say the wind was legal. She however blew everyone away, not even Bolt wins by this margin.Crystie Gaines was whipped in this race and she turned out to be a druggie. Her 200 wr had no doubt however. But so many Us stars turned out to be on roids i find it hard to believe she was clean, especially in that drug era, Ben Johnson and all.

  • great women, great race, great time...

    i'm jealous!!

  • She was dopped in that year...Come on, 10.96s in the beginning and 10.49s in the middle..That's impossible...Evelyn Asford's world record was 10.76s...She was 0.27s faster than world record...Those fuckin' steroids...

  • @27031988ful Correct. And yet idiots still believe she was clean. One of the great drug cheats in the history of sport this woman. Everyone who understands anything about track knows this.

  • In this race she could have run 10.40-10.45,she eased up for the margin she had

  • Cheat.

  • Someone will beat it... one day.

  • @WINYARD87 I don.t think so, 'cause the 2nd time holds Carmelitta Jetter 10.64s...That's to far from this result...I think she was dopped in that year because of great progression that she made (10.96-10.49)...

  • She was a nice person who improved dramatically after taking time off. I watched her workout sometimes at Ucla. I thought she had to be on something, but no one will ever truly know.

  • She needs gender testing...all those steroids made her grow a penis

  • fucking steroids are amazing

  • drugs+wind= 10.49

  • She was a complete druggie, her records should be taken away.

  • I believe Flo Jo was on performance enhancing drugs, I don't care what anybody says. Her autopsy did not prove that she was or wasn't, all it determined was that they were not what caused her death.

  • @babyboom64 You might be right. She might HAVE used ped's. But, you also can't discount the possibilities of the human body. She's reported to have worked her ass off in preparation for the 88 season. I mean many records today would have seemed impossible before they were achieved: 9.58 for the men's 100? Nearly 30-feet in the long jump? or hell, sub-4:00 min mile? I'm not saying she was clean. I don't know. But we can't eliminate the possibility that she worked extraordinarily hard.

  • @CHEETAH69 She worked extraordinarily hard...What a joke...What about Merlene Ottey, Zhanna Block and other champions...They didn't work hard..Come on, she was 28...That's not only suspicious records in the moment...What about records of Marita Koch, Jarmila Kratochvilova...

  • @27031988ful I don't doubt that FloJo's time were suspicious. But we can't automatically discount her achievement because we can't conveive of someone making such vast improvements. Zhanna Block was doped. I suspect that Merlene was too. But I can't prove that one. Marita and Jarmila were dudes. Period.

  • I agree with "drbayoms & "WholeLottaGame209"... This woman was special and had God given talent. So many people doubted her, but they simply could not get over her speed. So many say she retired early because of the new rules regarding drug testing, but if any haters payed attention, she tried to make a comeback for the Atlanta games in '96. To shut everyone up, her own husband demanded specific autopsy test for "use of performance enhancers".

  • @theonejesus1 - 1) autopsies aren't actually done to check for 'use of performance enhancers', but to simply establish the cause of death.

    2) 'performance enhancers' can be masked and don't usually stay in the system for long.

    3) impossible to disprove that her previous and sudden increase in strength and muscle mass wasn't as a result of steroid use. It can't be retrospectively established.

    4) There weren't actually sufficient quantities of samples to be tested.

  • Stop living your life for the acceptance of white people. Stop trying to right our wrongs. Just be the beautiful creature G_d wants us all to be. That's it. This beautiful creature of G_d was special. I am more than willingly to take a sample of her blood and urine to work with me in the morning. I just need the medically trained "experts" commenting on this blog about her "obvious" drug use, to supply me the samples.

  • @drbayoms There is literally nothing proving that this woman was on any kind of PED's. Those that think that she was needs to provide proof; or stfu...

  • why she gota be on drugs white peopl.. n so what marion jones never beat her time means she wasnt fast as she was.. there a such thing as god given zbility a gift from god and the fact she passed every single scheduled and random drug test they evrr gave her

  • quite windy though

  • Look at her turn on the juice at mid-race!

  • clearly on drugs and def some questions about the wind conditions. No one has ever come close to that time. Marion Jones is the only one in recent years and even she was on drugs.

  • @larzsurf Um...Carmelita Jeter has come closer.

  • @CHEETAH69 Jeter is loaded with sooooo much drugs.

  • @InsaneGoonRules You basing this on what?

  • @larzsurf I thought she used drugs from 2000, while she time 10.65 before that?

  • VERY NICE!!!! I WISH I WAS THERE TO SEE IT LIVE..

  • FOREVER MY TRACK AND FIELD IDOL!!!

  • The fact is she is truly fast. That's it.

  • I had the pleasure of being in the stands for that 100 degree afternoon in July at Indianapolis for Flojo's world record race. Wind was swirling in ALL DIRECTIONS, not necessarily behind the women. There were great wind aided and non wind times all that day.

  • @beebeechitown You were there? I was but a pre teen at the time. I would have killed to have gone to that track meet. It will definitely go down as one of the greatest olympic trials ever.

  • @CHEETAH69 It was 100 degrees everyday until a thunderstorm during the mens long jump Wednesday night(Lewis jumped 28'9" in the rain). ALL of the atheles were lionized by the knowlegeble fans. The Indy people were fantastic. They served free gatorade and other energy drinks to all because of the heat. One more note: When FloJo set her unbelievable world mark I was sitting next to Kirk Baptiste, the 1984 200 meter Olympic silver behind Lewis. His reaction was "What the Hell is she on!!!?"

  • she was a beautiful woman. i loved her style
