i have an 07 outlander max and whenever 1 give it a very tiny amount of gas when the atv is in forward or reverse the atv starts to shake and make a knocking noise.
once you apply more throttle the shaking stops.
i tryed everything.
i checked the gearbox oil.
cleaned the cvt.
checked the belt. (the belt has a small burn spot on it but it isn't that bad)
the previous owner was the owner of a can am dealership so i'm guessing he did all his servicing there so i don't think he would of made the mistake of uneven weights either.
the problem ONLY occurs when you give it A LITTLE bit of gas, then the problem goes away.
The kit olny comes with springs no weights or helix? How are you going to tune it? I'd send that cheap pos back and tell them to send me a real kit and stop wasting my time. Also NEVER EVER use an impact on clutch bolts And take the belt off first dummy.
john you are a life saver, i was taking my clutch apart today and heard some little things fall and i was about shittin myself, i came on here, saw the caps and springs, went out and found them and put them back in no problem. thanks a ton.
Dude...great Viedo..I'm new to ATV'in, i have a 2009Polaris 500 HO and have been upgrading ,lift kit,ITP 14 inch wheels,26 inch Zilla's and next is a Clutch kit in the spring, I want to get more torque outta of my motor all around...what would you recommend, i was thinking a Heelclicker clutch...Thanks again awsome and informated Viedo....Honkers48
The engine running does not hammer anything. An impact gun does. It's your machine, trash it if you want. Just don't go crying to the dealer when you screw it up and expect warranty to take care of your stupidity.
By the way, look at page 291 in the 08 service manual. It's in black and white.
John, i had the Dalton installed on my bike with the middle spring set-up. Now the bike is almost 15-mph! I know a secondary was not used, but cant stand the slow-down. Have any words of wisdom...
In most cases can you get to all of this without removing your engine/tranny?

Does a clutch kit come with sheaves. Not sure I spelled that right. I was told I need a clutch, belt, sheaves.... $900. Seems way to high to me.

Hi, I have a friend thats selling exedy stage 1 clutch but it doesnt have the bearing for it. Can i use my stock clutch bearing for it? for d16 civic
jun19020987 1 year ago
i guess you dont care about that motor since your using an impact on the crank shaft. its cool if you wanna shake the shit out of your bearings

what do you mean when you say compensate for bigger tires
tylerc1992charlo 2 years ago
when u put bigger tires on it makes ur gears longser , so to keep your gearing the game , u need to swap out the gearing in the clutch

your wrong, why?
sellallday247 3 years ago
The hammering can damage the bearings. Either buy the correct tool to hold the clutch or use a strap. That's the proper way to do it.
topgunatv 2 years ago 6
yeah and the engine doesn't (sarcasm)
as long as there is no excessive force side to side in and out. Rotational force is fine.

BS. Look in the manual if you don't believe it.
