@gerarkralik Unfortunately yes,  I've tried this very same camera without it and it didn't gave any "film look" effect, no depth of field, can't rack focus. etc. But i have not tried other cameras though so there might be some other out there that can. cheers

@Nbohol some of the canon hdv series with fatter stock lenses can achieve greater dof, however, you can still rack focus with the gyhm100u. just zoom in and place your camera further away from your subject(s) and you'll get way better dof with the gyhm100u!! obviously lens adapter and some primes is in a whole different league tho

@gerarkralik you could try the new sony nex vg10(1600€) or a dslr like the canon 60d (about 1000 €)

the sony nex vg10 has a very good depth of field

and dslr cameras a even better depth of field...
