Gillan is and will ever be the voice of purple..... or , maybe, as he says, in that great rock family trees bbc doc, the voice of Sandersons Deep Purple Toilet Paper...
I did that once but the quality is ... not the best, maybe because the videos was already in shit quality not in HD :D
But thanks for the info on that speedbit i always had some problems with YT downloaders.
Anyway if you check out my Deep Purple bootleg trading site (theres a link to it in my profile) i will send you some shows that you want (and i still have :"D)...
This may be hard to believe, but I came up with a cool guitar riff for a song, then I see this video and what do you know it was the intro riff.... So fuck I can't use that riff now!!!!
Magnifica interpretacion de toda la banda y especialmente Ritchie Blackmore con ese estilo particular al tocar la guitarra.Gracias por subir tu video.
when I listen to this particular performance, I ask myslef - what could possibly rock music produce better than this? And I've been asking this to myself for the last 40 years...
@Seafroggys...so was Ian Gillian the first singer or was it Rod Evans? Either way the early era of D.P. rocked the most...the first 4 albums I have got from the demonoid torrent website and they are all vinyl(the sound is superb). the instrumental song called grabsplatter is a single you should hear! Anyway..thanks for the correction! Rock on!
@cclip46 Yeah Rod Evan was the first singer, he was with them probably a little over a year, but they released three albums (Shades of DP, Book of Talyisan -sp-, and the self-titled). Its a different sound, but still good. Their self-titled I would say is on par with the Gillan lineup, if not solely because of the song April.
Its a shame that D.P. went thru so many personell changes after these particular members....This era of D.P. ROCKED! Liked them better than Led Zep. (I know thats sacrilege...sorry) Jon Lord's Keyboards have no equal! GREAT ORIGINAL LINEUP! THE BEST! PERIOD!
@cclip46 This wasn't the original lineup, but its the most famous one. They are freakishly fantastic though, and I like 'em better than Zep too (although Zep's still great)
Look at this POWERFUL MACHINE of Great and Fantastic Music......
This Five Extraordinary and Outstanding Musicians get into trance, Join their Souls and Supernatural Talents together, become ONE MAGICAL ENTITY and create the MOST DIONISIAC and FINE MUSIC ever.
I would like a direct audio feed off of Gillan's bongos so I can send it to Not so Modern Drummer magazine :) This guy has been putting Blackmore down for the last 15 years in the press. Today's Purple is nothing like it used to be. Blackmore provided the darkness and the uncertainty which was what made it interesting.
Blackmore was quite open about his Hendrix influence. Many Purple songs seem to have an influence - in fact the main riff to Black Night was a direct rip-off from from some early 60's version of Summertime. Nonetheless, it's rockin as fuck. I mean, it's rock and roll man, it's all ripped off from black artists anyway. Similar riffs are found everywhere - but doesn't mean the songs are the exact same.
What amazes me every time I watch these oldschool guys like Ritchie- HOW did they manage to keep Strat in tune with classic tremolo system?! Way before any floyd roses appeared:)
@siuwilly I knew it that I've heard this riff somewhere before xD Rtichie had tendention to ripping off somebody's riffs ;p For example: Black Night, Lazy etc. But this is just little inspiration here ;D
yes and no, if you put your finger over your earhole when you sing then it makes it easier too hear whether or not your in tune and i expect he's doing it here because he can't hear himself well otherwise
This is Rock n Roll... Impossible to see any thing in this days compared to this... brilliant... fantastic... genius.... perfect... i don't have words to say what i fell when see this video... Abraço pro Brasil roqueiro...
