It's not a jimmy page custom, It's a burnys les paul. i think. Randy Rhodes used one aswell, so did steve jones from the sex pistols also, but Randy had his own special model, u can c it on crazy train live on some tv show on youtube and i think steve jones uses the same rhodes custom, theres a whole story about that thou.

Yes! Finally someone who get's it! It's sort of hard to tell on youtube but that is obviously a mandolin. I'm so sick of people who think that it's a "guitar". IMO Jimmy Page was the greatest player to ever lay fingers on the mandolin!

In saying that though, I must disagree with you. Jimi Hendrix was the best mandolin player the world will ever see.

Jimmy Page couldn't hold a candle to Hendrix's mandolin playing. He could even play mandolin with his teeth or behind his head.

@ZiSt1989 Jimmy plays mandolin only in The Battle of Evermore, while JPJ plays guitar. TBOE and Gallows Pole ( in which Jimmy plays a banjo ) are the only song in which he plays other instruments. Look for the description of the songs in Wikipedia for more details...
