the quran isn't a problem and the evidence is that the god is saying to mohamed in quran "and if they demanded peace give it to them" in arabic ( wa en ganaho lel selm fagnah laha wa tawakkal ala allah)
but i have a question needing an answer, after ww2 and hitler killing of jews they escaped to the middle
east and began their life there, the question is ; why did the jews introduced them selves to the arabs as enemies i mean why didn't they leave side by side with arabs muslims and christians as refugees as example and i am sure that the arabs would have accepted their presence and europe jews live together with arab jews and muslims and christians and they would have been accepted to live in all the arab countries not only in palestin only ???
@modyfication1 jews and americans live the total stupor of fear. As the saying goes, americans attack anyone they want to attack; Israelis attacks the one who plans to attack them - perpetually obsessed with compulsive enemies exist in their heads, no?
and made the arabs and muslims there enemies because there is a quraan quote says "The god don't refuse your treatment with the non muslims and don't refuse to treat them well but also he loves who treats them well and in a good manner as long as they don't try to dismiss you from homes or fight you in religion" so it was no need to that fear the Jews caused to them selves by fighting arabs and muslims
Beautiful music, spoke to my soul, as a New Zealander raised on a steady stream of British and US culture, it is awe inspiring in the true sense of the words to see this and experience the profound beauty in the singers voice and the intricate beauty of the musical instruments, I know now I have to find more of this amazing music and incorporate it into my musical knowledge and experience.
Amazing movie, cathes the spirit of old Egypt, and losing it by new generations.. I recommend it 2 everyone who s in love in old egyptian music and in spirit it came from. For everyone who s not in a hurry, and is able 2 watch slowly. And it includes great sense of humour!
Anyone has the scene that the violin guy plays trumpet? I want to see it again. I watched this film only once on TV. Or anyone knows the name of that trumpet song?
one of the best movies i have seen in a long time , and i liked how it only focused on the human side of those people ignoring any political issues that the world seem to focus on wz any Arab/Israel situation .
song names in this video: Ayam Fi Hodnik --by Elias Attallah (Arabic) Kol Shee Helo --by Reem Talhami (Israeli) Ayam Fi Hodnik (Days Spent in Your Arms) Lyrics and Music: Habib Shahadeh Hanna T... i copied that from the description of the Video up here on the right :)
It would be really great if you could also post the scene from this movie where some of the men are playing a traditional (i think harp) instrument. I cannot remember very well, but I think it was at night, the night they stayed over in the "no culture" city. Thanks a million if you can do this!
It's called an qanoun or qanoon. It's a beautiful Middle Eastern string instrument. Youtube search for qanoun or qanoon music, and you'll find plenty of videos.
From the film's credits: the song sung by the older musician sitting in the dark is called يا صَبِيّة (ya Sabiya), words and music by حبيب ثحادة حنّا (Habib shaHada Hanna) and sung by فؤاد عازر (fou'ad 'azar).
someone please please plase tell me the neame of the song/artist at the roller disco. the fast dance tune the refrain is like: "oh so true, I love you" then the strings come in. gah! i must have it.
Didn't see if anyone has answered your question yet - but the song is "Sunny" - Bobby Hebb has a great version - not sure if he was the original or not - it is also on the soundtrack for the movie The War - which is an amazing movie as well!
a gem of a movie, great director, great acting, beautiful, simple perfection. thank you for giving us such a beautiful hope of reconciliation. thank you, shoukroun, shalom, merci
I loved the movied and specially the two last songs. I would like someone to give me first one lyrics in Arabic, since I have been studying the language and it would be great to read it and study its words in its onw language and letters. Thank you.
this is the lyrics of the first song but there are one word i can`t hear it : يا ليل يا ليلي يا ليل أيام في حضنك و الروح هنية شمس صيف و أبدية لمت أيامنا المنسية أيام .... والزمن غربته عسلية لو كنت حأعيش مرة تانية ما كنت حأغير و لا ثانية أيام طيبة والنور يشع بحرية والخير الي بينا مخلي لنا حياتنا حب و حنية
These 2 songs are beautiful especially the first one which carries lots of deep feelings, emotions and meanings, and it's so genuine arabic classical music .. it should be the national hymn of egypt or something, i am egyptian and i loved the movie .. too bad it didn't reach alot of people here, as people oppose anything that comes from israel. Hopefully israel's reign of terror would stop one day so relations would grow better between us and them.
I am not an Arab or Israeli person. I watched this movie in one night just when I passed my PhD exam. But after watching this movie, my heart has been broken into pieces. The second song is simply hypnotizing. I found out from the film's website its called "Everything Beautiful Reminds Me of You" sung by Reem Talhami. Unfortunately its not on amazon or anything...

The Arabs have such an amazing culture. It's a shame we have been always been and will continue to slaughter each other.
I suspect the way I love this music, conversely, some Arab 7000 miles away loves western music just as much.
Hopefully after we finish our ridiculous wars against each other the best of each culture will survive.
