makes me look at life so differently. i should be happier and stop taking life for granted. idk or maybe its the childhood talking like everyone else below me.
Wake up in the morning. Go to Elementary school. Get called fat, ugly, and loser. Get rocks thrown at. Come home to verbally abusive father. Go in room, shut and lock door and play the Sims. It's all I ever had...it's all I ever needed.
The first comment on this page says it all really... But just to add, tears of joy and pain are trickling out of my eyes. The joy is for having the pleasure of playing this in my childhood, and recognizing at such a young age the beauty in this music. The pain is for the generations who don't have a childhood.
@Yooksey What, you think Videogames usually have crap music? I strongly suggest you check out the OST of a game called "Nier". If you like this track, I suggest you check "Grandma" and give "Gods bound by rules" a go too.
i just had to go back and search for my childhood game music. this was always my favorite song on there and i'd just sit their on the buy mode all day just to listen to it wishing it would come back on the next time i went to buy something.
The music from the first game was always the best out of all 3, as far as I'm concerned. The games themselves got increasingly better over time, but I have to say, the music got worse.
Though, that just may be because I'm biased towards all the piano themes. <3
J'en ai joué à des jeux vidéo, mais je peut dire sans crainte que cette musique est surement le plus belle que j'ai jamais entendu dans l'univers des jeux.
This reminds me of my horribly messed up childhood where I'd kill all of my Sims using that rocket shooter inside a house with no doors. And then music like this plays, and I would just lay there for a minute and then do it all over again :)
This is the song I listened to when sleeping every night in middle school. The build and Latin neighborhood tunes. I never had trouble sleeping thanks to these masterpieces. I even woke up and got to school on time each morning. Thank you Sims! ^^
Ahhh i remember the old good time! When i was a little boy who just had bought the first Sims. I wish that i could go back in time to when me and my friends were playing this for hours! Sadly thats not possible :,( Many memories from this songs! Many thanks from Sweden 26/11/2011. I miss the 90's.....
I would constantly stop my game and just sit in building mode to hear this specific piece. I told myself that when I got my own place, this is what would be playing in it. The tone is just amazing; it's not happy, but not really sad, either. It just feels like everything is the way it's supposed to be.
I was a little girl and this was the first computer game i ever played. I can still hear the "whop" sounds and "cha-ching" noises in my ears from being on build mode.. And when this specific song came on I would fall asleep like a baby :)
I used to make a family of rich looking people ,a couple of poor looking people, and then a maid. After I would trap the poor people and the maid in a room and made it look a dungeon. The maid had a kitchen in hers though. Then I would let the rich people live a normal life. I made the maid(lol) cook and then moved the plates myself to the house and dungeons. Hah. I had to buy and sell the door so she could get out the clean the house. lol
This looks like a good game. I started off with sims 3 because it was the latest version... And I loved it! I played it all day until my hands dropped off. Then I tried sims 2, Which was great in many ways, but the graphics were not as good.
Because I've only experienced the latest versions, I dont now what to expect from The Sims 1!!!
i can remember i would always make a house with 7 kids and one adult who was the uncle and i pretended he wwas looking after the kids whilst the perants where away on holiday....now if i did that it would seem as though a peverted old man stole seven kids and the perants didnt bother looking for them.
This is my favorite music score of all time, from the sims 1. where can i get the mp3 of this song it would love to use these on my video's I upload on here
Gotta love this song. It just tells the entire story of death inside of about 5 minutes. You always felt like a dick after hearing this song in the midst of incinerating another family of innocent sims.
One time I invited Cassandra Goth over, trapped her in a dungeon-like room, put a window in the wall and a chair just outside for my Sim to view her from. She died of starvation after about 10 minutes on super-speed mode.
Her parents kept coming over saying it's time for her to go home lol.
ROFL! Remember how the babies were randomly transformed into children that didn't look like the parents at all? I always used to get the guy with Harry Potter-glasses and I thought he was so damn ugly so I always imprisoned him and then I would watch him wet himself and cry until he finally died (In military clothes that would take him to the boarding school which he couldn't get to since he was locked in). Those were the times... People like me shouldn't play Sims lol
@SarethZhukov314 LOL i used to make like the max in one family and put them in a closed room with a fireplace and a chair and let them all burn up! i was evil, i called it survivor
Did anyone else see the Sims Social trailer at e3? Did anyone else watch this right after they saw the Sims Social trailer at e3? Did anyone else cry like a damn baby after watching this right after watching the Sims Social trailer at e3?
Why are we nitpicking about what style it is? It sounds avant-garde, it sounds jazzy, it's definitely improvisational, and IT'S A WONDERFUL WORK OF MUSIC.
@Aleixpb2 "its a jazzy improvisational style.... I just waited smartass kid like you to tell me how it is jazzy improvisation. This is far away from Jazz, and it is more likely Avant-guarde, new age instrumental piano. This form have jazz chords, yes it is, frygian and lydian. @Drezgality If you are muscian and you don't know the style of this music you have a problem xD. It's a jazzy improvisational style wrote by Jerry Martin, composer of all The Sims music and Sim City music.

This used to be my favorite Build Mode soundtrack... it reminds me of my times at school :)... with friends, with people who are dear to me... and well of the sims :P!! :)
Almost all the songs in this album make me soo relaxed it opens up mind! i think bout when i was younger and my brother! Life has soo many possibilities take chances!
Makes me think of my future... images of me being a father, playing outside with my children, seeing my smiling wife. Going through all those events in their lives...
This song has always made me feel kinda sad coz the first time I heard it was when my first sim had just died. And also when I was renovating The Goth's house. The Goth's were a depressing lot too lol.
This always was the "rainy day" chant for me, always had this track when it was rainy outside, there it worked it's true magic imo. Love Sims 1 music, so much soul in it, makes you think.
First house I made the father over cooked the meal, set the house on fire, died, set the mother on fire, she died. Then, the daughter left alone was tooken away by a lady wearing a suit. I cried like a baby.
This really brings back memories. I never could figure out why the build music was so depressing, but I loved it all the same. Great, great pieces.

Back when I was young, and Sims was new to me, I had absolutely hated these songs. Now I appreciate the true beauty of them, thank you aging.

Yes this song is somewhat sad.. But i always noticed that element of hope in it, and thats why I love it so much.

@GeorgiaJde totally agree, it has a faint sense of melancholy, but quickly turns to hope and faith.. it just seems to grow... love it!!!
