  • Gotta love the Donna

  • I was there

  • Black and white - nice video...

  • After all this time, Donna still annoys the hell out of me.

  • I've listened to the "Ace" version of this so many times... I never tire of its compelling beauty...

It looks like rain every time i listen to it.

  • cant remember the show, but on archive org there is a looks like rain where bobby swears up a storm. "I wish this rain would just f**kin go away"

  • @Nolanfan26 sweet

  • I LOVE YOU OOPSIE EUREKA BYE 4 20 OK

  • we were in buffalo NY in terrible muggy heat.

We/they sang cold rain and snow.

and the second time we sang that verse out of nowhere a raincloud came over the arena and cooled us all down.

  • @LadyAltheaIsMe i was @ that show chillls peace

  • Chills every time.

I only want to hold you

I dont want to tie you down

or fence you into lines, i might have draw

its just that I, got used

    to having you around

the landscape would be empty if you were gone

    Chills.

  • cause it looks like rain and it feels like rain such beautiful lyrics

  • I thought the this was the first son on side two of Bobby's "Ace".

Bob sings it for the Dead and it IS a Bobby song.

"I don't want to tie you down...

but It sure looks like rain."

  • this album came out a couple months after Garcia s first solo album and this song is thefirst cut. my friend and i put it on and just stared at other i disbelief , it was so beautiful. Christ we were young.

  • It makes me miss Jerry

    But the best love song

    Thank God for YouTube posts

  • first time I seen the dead they played this during a heat wave, no forcast for rain and it started raining as thay called it down, along with wier bringing in the lightning, I miss Jerry

  • Yeah, I know how you feel. I miss Jerry a lot. God bless him. And thanks for him being her.

  • @williambillforshort Was this in Oregon?

  • @williambillforshort

Was it in Pittsburgh, Summer 1995? That sounds like what you are describing exactly.

  • There is no studio recording of this song?

  • It's on Bob's solo album from '72

  • Thanks! I need to get that Album.

  • such a beautiful love song but also a story about getting over a lost love wrapped into one song. I've never experienced anything like it

  • yes yes, bluescommander.... yes yes!

i'll still sing oyu love songs....

  • I feel like this song is much more poignant with the female voice. However, near then end of the Road, I think they all knew it was coming down and the song began to take a more emotional turn...

  • I think it works much better with just Bobby. The harmony distracts from the power of the lyrics.

  • best love song ever

  • i agree, gives me chills every time i listen to it.

  • Phil Lesh is the reason I bought a bass.

  • Thats a good reason.

  • @VDGG94ki Jerry Garcia is the reason i bought a guitar

  • @VDGG94ki me too!

  • What will we do when youtube has gone by. All this dead video.........

    I could watch it forever

The end is near aand Big Brother is more than watching!
