  • Lol

  • This is just my type of country music. Great voice,

    Thanks

  • Sometimes, late at night I'll pull out my dad's old 4th army scrapbook from the second world war, put on the headphones and play this song. Brings a tear to my eye every time.

  • Its a good video! It makes me think of when i was a kid, my dad had this song on a tape and listened to it all the time. It reminds me of a simpler time, I just wish people could let go and it could be like that now

  • Great classic! Anybody know what year this was a hit? I'm guessing '86 or '87.

  • @DomenicDee

    1987 IIRC

  • allways thought this was a beautiful song, and besides I don't think Moe ever had a bad song!!!

  • Came from a small mill town in Connecticut...this is it!!!

  • Of all the songs that pertain to the good ole USA, this one is tops. This boy sings it with feeling. I know where he is coming from and know he has the same feelings as millions of us. God Bless the USA. Thanks MOE.

COUNTRY, THAN THIS ONE, A GRATEFUL SCOTTISH IMMIGRANT. THANKS MOE, GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL ITS PEOPLE.

  • @kinlochighlander

    Hi Jim,

Fantastic video, have always loved this song.

You are a perfect example of what makes this country so great!

Founded on hard working immigrants, loyal, and ready to protect thier new homeland.

I was born here, my Grandmother was Chippewa, and my Grandfather was French.

Very proud indeed my brother, to call you friend!

    Thank you for the share.

    Nothin' but thumbs!

  • Wow...

This reminds me of the America I grew up in...

People had faith, honesty, integrity and a sense of responsibility.

    Unlike now...

So many people are vain and rude; They have a sense of entitlement and never want to take responsibility for their own actions.

  • @EatMyNads

    Well said!

  • @TunesNorth

    thunbs up bro.

  • a couple more years and it'll be racist to even like this

  • I loved it

  • Growing in both Urban and rural ameirca. I love this Nation we often call The United Sates, God Bless all. Those who live here, make this place were millions are willing to die for.

I dont care for both Capitalist and socialist drive it is profound that people would not put their shit aside and work together. Thumbs up this post if you wish to stop the bullshit!!!

    GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!

    GOD BLESS THE REPUBLIC!!!

GOD BLESS ALL!!!!!!! EVEN OUR ENEMY!!!!!

  • Moe hit #8 in Billboard, 4-23-88. Wonder if this song inspired the radio format of the same name? Please let me know. God bless! No offense to anybody for that.

  • @DaveWollenberg

    I think it did.

A bunch of artists hated this song and Moe Bandy so much that they went and started a new format.

  • God, what a great song. It doesn't get much better than this.

  • Here's another great singer that I missed in my younger days. This one and "Too Old to Die Young" are two of his best I think. Thanks for posting, I'll continue to enjoy this.

  • I love Moe Bandy!!! This is my husbands favorite song by Moe.I just purchased this cd...Love Till I'm too old to die young..also..!!! :)

  • This song sure brings back memories! Seems like yesterday.

  • it takes moe to sing it.

  • July 4 this is the USA

  • Way to go Moe, and a salute to you SIR from the Ebony side of America.

  • be proud of your country and your flag .A lot of good people died giving it to you. HOLD IT HIGH

  • we better take care of america because it,s taking care of us.

  • way to go Moe. A great heartfelt song.

  • rule what again, you FOOL!

  • this is just a damn fine song sung by a real honest to goodness real country music singer

  • For several years, as a C7W radio dj, I hosted a Sunday morning show "America, God I Love This Country". This song was one of my "every" Sunday play list.

    God Bless This Country.

    Storyteller

  • 5 big stars for this guy !

  • "I thought of what I seen back in that town,

And it hit me like a freight train,

That a stones-throw from the fast lane,

America is still safe and sound."

So true about the un-urbanized areas of the midwest and the south. We small town folks, like Reagan said, are still "THE HEARTBEAT OF AMERICA!"

  • Pictures of a people proud and free. If you don't appreciate the blessings and privileges we have here, go spend some time in Haiti.

I am so sick of liberals bad-mouthing this great nation. What is it exactly that Obama wants to change?

  • @huntingun1 Sir, you sound like another cynical non-believer in the spirit of America. How sad that people like you would rather "break & run" and boot-scoot to another country because you feel America is dying. I humbly suggest to you, sir, to be a REAL patriot and work within the framework of our Constitution. Democracy is alive & well in the great US of A. Put your gun away, as that will only land you in federal prison or your beloved GITMO. Respect the rule of law & democracy please...sir.

  • (No freeman shall Be debarred arms even a crimeal who served there time)

    Thomas Jefferson

  • We must all pull together and preserve the American spirit.

  • Would luv to hear Alabama do this one ..maybe they did ,anyone know?

  • Awesome!! Its what America used to be!!!

Cant post on here what I really wanna say........... I will leave it at that, but a great song!!!

  • Well, I recall listening this song, in a wee-hours of the night (at that time I was serving in the ex-Yugoslav 'commie' Army), broadcasing on the local radio-station in Zagreb city. Like it back than, like it all the same today. Two thumbs up! God bless USA!

  • watseka IL miss you!!! your boy still thinks about you every day

  • Wonderful song brings back a better time in the USA !

  • Ooo Hail Moe Bandy !! Classic !

  • I am sure you all love America as much as I do, that is a given. Yet, a loved one of mine died because he had no health insurance. So please ignore or understand this Army vet that supports national health insurance. Preventative medicine saves lives, I think. I care enough about my neighbor to want them to have it. It saves money, saves lives & saves tears at the grave. Peace. Bear.

  • sweet

  • Were only as free as were willing to pull the trigger

  • i love listening to this song, it helps people see that life is still good

  • geez u guys just appreciate the song for what it is damn fine country performed by a great singer

  • Thanks to you neocons, for turning a graceful Moe Bandy song into a fascist "kill the Liberal" tirade. Shame on you! We all believe in Liberty, and yet you happily call those who disagree with you, "Low life leftist scum." Many with good intentions love this song....yet you let your politics pound a steel beam into our celebration. Shame on you.

  • I don't have a healthcare bill because I don't see a doctor, and I'm not paying for yours. I don't have insurance because I don't pay for that service, and I'm not paying for yours. It's a business, not a right. If you want the goods and services you have to pay for it yourself, just like gasoline, groceries, television, electricity, water, etc.

If you want to solve the problems, get the lobbyists and special interests out of Washington so the Government serves the People again.

  • He animefool, I'm an european-thinking guy. and learned a lot more about how to live together. We (in Europe!) are getting sick of this ego-thinking of you amaricana. But one thing: I don't like to pay for that firearm of yours, even not when it's called -the army-. You are a poor thinking young man, who has to learn a lot......I hope for you you never need help from other people.........

  • @renger29

well i read somewhere that england or whatever country can only have guns it the person is very rich or wealthy is that true high and mighty?

  • Don't take this to personal, but I think you don't got the message. Arms are no good at all; at least for commen-people. They cann't handle this. But I agree if you say -we live in a rotten world......

  • elcamino1966350

I'm so tired of this. for what must USA be blessed? You really think your 'god' loves you that much....for what you did to the world the past 8 bush-years.....

  • @renger29 might like to go visit Haiti for a few days. I bet he'll appreciate this country more when he comes back!

  • What a wonderful/inspirational tune Moe Bandy has graciously handed us, the happy listener. We are Blessed beyond measure to hear, understand & to comprehend that our country will sustain the test of time. Each test only makes us stronger-not weaker, as some might suggest. Wherever the politics of the days pendulum shall swing; did any of us give up and beat-feet to another land?

  • Some will say so; 99.9% will not. For I shall always vicariously hold up the torch of libertys promise, and should I stumble, drop or die; I live with knowledge that one thousand or more shall jump in my place. Bless America. Peace.

  • I loved this song and I am a 2 tour Viet Nam,my youngest son of Iraqi Freedom, Father was Korea,my adapted

Dad Corps of Engineers, Grand Father excaped the Bolshivecs and came to this great Republic. Many thanks for this post.

  • Thanks you guys for your service to our great country. My brother was in the army from 2000-2003 and served in "THE BIG RED 1"

  • Me, a veteran. My father-wounded in Korea. My grandfather-South Pacific. His father-Spanish American War. His father-Civil War Union Army-decorated at Gettysburg. It goes further back than that. Please tell me that our people have not become so self-centered, selfish, and mislead as to let those sacrifices die in vain. I believe they have, which is why we are in the cesspool that we are now in. God help us.

  • I've never seen a Mexiacan flag around here. Even those of Mexican ancestry show US flags here.

  • Especially those crappy reality shows.

  • @rackasaurus Thank you for your service. God Bless

  • This should be the United States of America's national athem

  • I've lived in these United States for 49 years, and I've seen the constitution dismantled, and the country torn apart with all the strife, and greif over prayer in school, taking god out of our lives and the muslim world try to destroy our lands. But Moe Bandy has brought back the spirit for which this land and its people were created for. God bless him and his music and god bless the troops still fighting for the same ideals.

  • "There were old men on benches playing checkers, Children playing hopscotch on the square, And high above a statue, of an Unknown Soldier, Old Glory was waving in the air. Suddenly I realized what I'd too long forgotten, A chill rose up like mountains on my skin, Overcome with a feelin', I knew I was seein', America all over again." -Larry Alderman & Richard Fagan wrote it best and Moe sings it best. God bless all our troops, veterans and those who gave their lives for our country.

  • I've watched this video several times and I have not heard "Muslim" mentioned any where in the song. I LOVE IT.

    Way to go, Moe Bandy.

    Thanks for posting this tigerdog1954.

  • I remember this song. It was a patriotic time. I loved, "God Bless the U.S.A.," and others. Then after 9/11, I devoured, "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue," "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," and the many other songs it spawned.

But now, due to, uh, "recent political events," this is about the only one that still seems appropriate. It represents a continuing TRUE America, still apart from the "change." Hopefully, in a few years, that true America can be restored.

  • AMEN, TommyguNG. Well said.

  • I always thought this song would be better than "God Bless The USA" after 9/11... more truly American

  • I seen him play in Branson and I shook his hand when he was singing this song and it was the first time I have heard sing and was def not forgotten by me...I love his songs and voice.

  • Long Live John F. Kennedy!!!!!

  • Many people paid the ultimate price for this country.

Disgaree with MANY things about this country, but still love, honor and respect the veterans who gave everything.

    God Bless the U.S.A.

  • doesnt he sing brotherly love?

  • So Sad, American is not like this anymore. We let the politicians & the bankers ruin it. We voted in obama. The man who will lead us straight into socialism.

  • He huntingun: what do I understand ? You still don't get it, I think. Spell the word: s o c i a l i s m and write it down !what this exactly mean.s..... Does this mean 50 billion for Bill Gates and about 25 for Rumsfeld and a same amount for Dick Cheney. Think again: Exxon, Shell,

I think it's time for a bit more s o c i a l behavior for the upperclass in your America....... By the way I love Moe Bandy!

  • I love this song. Pre-corporate Nashville music is just super good; this coming from an 80's metal fan!

  • Americana.. you're still what livin means to me. America is still safe n sound. Amen

  • CLASSIC NEVER DIES!

  • Great singer, nice song. Mo is a living legend. I'm looking for the original video from -Bandy the Rodeo Clown- and -Picture In A Frame-. Thanks in advance for oploading them. (A dutch country fan)

  • Great song-the first time I ever heard it, but it says everything I believe in-America.

  • this is 1 great song.

  • Great video, so glad you shared. God Bless America. America, let's not loose her! Moe Bandy did a super job here. When I was growing up we played softball almost every Sunday in the summers. I sure have some great memories of those early years.
