I have the original Sims 8 in 1 :D and let me tell you....I STILL prefer the originals over 2 and 3. Maybe it's just because of the awesome memories I have associated with the originals....or maybe it's because they're that damn fun :)

@PappeH I agree with you. Sims 2 was good, along with Sims 3 but the expansion packs for that are ridiculous. You can tell they're running out of ideas with those. But the original Sims can't be beat. There are a lot of memories with them and they are just great to play because they're the original.

I mean, everything about the originals is so great! Sure, you're limited on how you can build, but you can still get creative :). All the music is superb and watching the crazy granny beat people with her purse in the Landgrab mall never gets old. Really, my ONLY complaint is how hard it becomes to build your star power. It's just really hard to pick what they want in the correct order when you go to act, or record a song.

@SnowingDream umm you can also find them at thrift stores... mainly goodwill... i have almost all the sims 1 games and thats cuz i go there (i'm not poor or anything like that... i just like vintage stuff and older computer games so thrift stores are deff the place to go for stuff like that lol) they also have a lot of games like simtower, simcity 3000, and simtheme park... i even found the sims 2 double deluxe there... so ya, hoped that helped...

If your asking about sims on windows 7 then heres what you need to do

Step one if its trouble with compatibility try right clicking the icon and click properties and chose windows XP

Step two if its trouble saving the game right click on it and click run as administrator

if these dont work try looking on google for solutions hope it helps

i have never played sims 1. but i have sims 2, and 3. that is so cool that there is like real people and stars on there. that is just so awesome. and this is what it was like back then? wow. i am only 11. but i am interested in almost all old games, sims 1 being my fav. these are cool. i am buying sims 1 on ebay and have 2 expansions. i want this expansion pack though, it looks cool. thanks for showing me and thanks for the info on all this. :)

You need a ton of friends more like 10 friends at 3 stars. You must balance friendship will all your friends plus work on your fame career. You also need more friends and max everything on the skill levels if you wish too max star meter.

Oh my god, I saw your house and I thought that it WAS studio town. Then I noticed the three quarters of a million dollars that you had. Crazy. Another thing that impressed me was the eight cooking skills. It's been ages since I ever bothered getting my sims that high in cooking in TS1.

@bethanyleee Everyone tells me that they're stuck on that level, but personally I just kept singing and singing at the karaoke set until I reached level 3. After that you have to use the fame objects, such as the recording booth to record songs (not just jingles) or you have to go and model winterwear or swimwear (not just do print ads), or you can go and act out various scenes (inheritance or emergency scenes). If you are successful at that, then you can move on to higher fame objects.

I don't see why everyone's always complaining about Superstar. It's SO incredibly easy! I must have about 6 Superstars, in my neighbourhood haha!

The ONE thing you need, which is ESSENTIAL to your career, is to make friends with celebrity sims. Celebrity Sims can include people from the 'Somebody' family.

Make friends and STAY friends with them, then just simply play on the open microphone or on any other available Superstar item, to gain fame!
