  • The last boat that came in actually stalled as he was was through the bar and ended up banging against the rock wall at the entrance. Luckily some spectators managed to assist them with ropes while he got his engine started, otherwise he would have ended up going back out.

  • Whakatane is in the Bay of Plenty, North Island, New Zealand. A great fishing spot!

  • @weeves06 shhhh, not so loud or the Nishimaru will show up and clean you out!

  • @rasputannz I wish that i was there to film that! Havn't managed to capture any boats leaving the bar when its like that...

  • I was one a commercial cray boat that lost its roof leaving the bar on a day worse than that about 20 years ago. Wish someone had caught that on film. What a day.

  • what I'd really like to see is some of these guys going OUT to sea in these conditions ...

  • @colindominy those would be the surfers lol

  • where is the Whakatane Heads ?

  • @1:15 what looks like a rock seems to be poking it's ugly head out of the water right in line with the boat coming in

  • Just follow a wave in and get on it's back and stay there, just pray your engine doesn't stall or a steering failure

  • it would of been alot better if there was some on board footage but awesome vid bro

  • wow wicked stuff, i came thru one rough day and i hit the middle of the bar and a swell come in and up and i went down and the swell was 1 or 2 mtrs hight over the top of my Bimini top. was just a wall of water behind me... scary stuff eh :)
