Actually there is no such thing as the most convincing double lift, in fact, any double lift is convincing if you do it well and at the proper time during a performance. I mean, if people look at you having an stressing time turning a card they'll be much more suspicious about you doing something sneaky. So, just practice any double lift you like, and also look up for printed sources of them, at least so you can learn from someone who knows how to hold a deck of cards properly. Happy holidays

With videos you try to achieve what you see (and most of the times what you see isn't the best), in the other hand, with books you learn every detail from the move or sleight and then you develop them the way you think it looks the best, meaning you give it your personal touch.

@jjpp1993 i agree that books can be very helpful however, it can be difficult looking at the pictures etc. because sometimes they can be difficult to understand whereas if there is a person talking they can also give you extra tips from personal experience.

When you read you push yourself to understand and define YOUR style of performing that sleight or trick whatever, rather than in a video you just try to imitate what the person is doing and saying with the wrong thought that that is the correct way of doing it, and with all respect to mismag, he isn't a good example to imitate in both handling and performing.

When I try to take the card totally away from my hand after bending it against the flesh of my thumb, it fans out. Is this inherent because of the pressure from before? Any beginner mistakes and tips to remedy them? Also, should we always peel off cards, double or not, like that or would that be more suspicious than only doing it for the occassional double lift?

@everyone: Everyone has their own opinion of the "best" double lift. The only people who actually know what you are doing regardless of the way you do it are those who practice themselves. Anyone who practices can catch any double no matter how it is performed. It's a little ridiculous to criticize a guy who is trying to show you something he is learning and some tips he picked up in the process. He's helping you, so consider not being a pompous douche and just make a video of your own methods.

The Bending of the card against the palm is the BIGGEST tell of them all and DOESN'T look natural.... in every trick watch the moment i see a top card being swivelled so flamboyantly and bend against the heel of the thumb i just Know what is happening.
