It took Vegeta over +200 episodes just to swallow his stupid pride and accept that there were people stronger than him. How does that make him better than Sasuke? I haven't seen Inuyasha so I don't know about Sesshomaru, Zoro is at least debatable (but I would say no), Kenpachi probably fits the badass mold, and I don't know who Brago is.
While Sasuke is being irrational with his revenge against Konoha you have to remember that Sasuke is and always has been obsessed with Itachi. He was first the brother he wanted to surpass, then the brother he wanted to kill and now he's the brother he wants to avenge. Tobi knew this and used it to his advantage. If anybody's a badass, it's Zuko. In fact, Avatar, the series, as a whole was well-written, had very sympathetic personalities, a nice plot, and a climatic and aesthetic end. @ZipblockArchives Zip, hope you're coping well. But you hit it right on the head. This point is probably more insightful than anything I've said thus far. Especially the Darth Vader comparison. A lot of critics have remarked on Vader's unstable personality and his tendency to view something as either all bad or all good. It's like Sasuke can't cope with the complexity of life, so he develops black and white tunnel vision. The problem I have is that this change in his personality is too abrupt.

I agree with what you were saying about sasuke being selfish. To me, a character is a badass when they display an act of selflessness, to the extent that they cause harm to either their physical or physiological being in order to protect something that has a greater importance to them.
Ex: Like how at the start of one piece, Zoro told luffy he would only join his crew in order to make his own dream of being the greatest, a reality. But later on, offer his own life in exchange for luffy's

I personally cannot really consider either Vegeta OR Sasuke as bada** characters, to be honest. Vegeta just seemed to fit the simple roles of villain, anti-hero, and then hero. He never really did much that I can really see as fitting that role THAT MUCH.
Hiei, though, I can DEFINITELY say was a bada** character. HE fit it PERFECTLY.

Vegeta goes through a LOT of developmental change. Sasuke barely does.

In that I sense I understand Sasuke and why does, what he does. Think about it. Your entire family is massacred, then later on you discover that the person who did so. If Tobi was telling the truth, then the Uchiha clan would have destabilized the entire fire country, why do they need to be avenged? Especially at the cost of destroyimg every man, woman, and child in Konoha? His reasons for revenge are not justifiable at this point, hence he's irrational, and his goals don't make sense.

He said that sasuke has no bad ass slogan, but in actuality he does and that slogan is "I will avenge my clan."
