so probably you've heard it before but THE REAL STORY IS.

when nike sb was making the samples for the shoe, the ringer, was actually a bird chirping. nike did this to make sure that it was possible for a ringer to be in there, and to make sure it was audible. it was also because of the fur on the inside.

Larry Perkins is indeed a false name, and he did prank calls to other pro skaters, but thats the idea behind the ringing of the phone. the real "chipring birds" and the samples ONLY.
