Wow I'm surprised those took as much abuse as they did. There's no such thing as a shitty subwoofer; you get what you pay for. A $40 sub might not hit as hard as a $300 sub but up until it starts to distort it sounds just as good.

A $40 sub will not hit anywhere near as hard as high end sub, it may get ruined easier, and it will probably be over rated and blown out even run at the power it suggests, but if you find out how to treat them right they'll sound clean and clear.

I couldn't get it at the right angle so I tried to remove the plastic ring that was making it hard to get at, because I noticed it was coming up a bit, but when I tried to take the ring off, one side stayed glued to the surround and it ripped like 2 inches into the rubber. So I said fuck it.

I don't know that off the top of my head, it's just written on the side, I hope that's the model.

I had 2 12 inch Type E's and within 2 weeks of owning them I blew one out running them off of one MRP-M500 which delivers 500 Watts RMS @ 2Ohms and they are rated at 250Watts RMS so it should have been perfect. The MRP-M500 is an Alpine amp too. Love that thing, and I love my Type R's now.

Thanks, saw a new pair at a pawn shop along with 4 5x8 memphis doors with directional tweets. The subs are 45 a piece, and the doors are 39 a pair.

Currently am running 2 mtx terminators in factory enclosure powered by an older lanzar vibe 800 amp bridged mono @ 4ohms. Head unit is a jvc arsenal. It powers the current "fusion" 5x8 frnt and back, then a second amp (piece of crap "thump" 200w powers a set of polk 6x9's in their own carpeted enclosures. Yup all pawn shop crap, but not too bad.

I've had it for about 4 months, and i bought it used off from a guy, and he had it about another 5 months. mind you its in a slot port box, 2 cubes, dont know the tuning. havent calculated it, just doesnt affect me.

but i guess its just luck of the draw.

I don't think they're that bad, I pounded on this one for a good 15 minutes with over the rated power, I only show the last minutes of it's life, oh and the sub says its 250W RMS and 800 Max power, what you want to worry about is the RMS rating, If ur amp is rated at 600 Max and around 200-300 RMS you should be ok, as long as you don't take it to the limit all the time.
