  • @kargaroc386 C'mon now -- this channel has 'redefined' unboxings and reviews! LOL! Oh, the iPhone 4 unboxing and review is indeed coming soon (and so is Christmas).

  • @adiblasi Haha Al, "iPhone 4 unboxing coming soon!" Meanwhile in your holiday wrap you admitted you LOST it! :D

  • STOP LOOKING AT MY DICK!

  • How can this video be 16 minutes D:

  • you can get macs for free right?!°

  • You guys make hysterical Videos! Keep up the great work! I just opened my Mac Mini tonight. Never done this before. Used a cooked Spatchler & it came out first try on all 3 Sides. I heard Al ribbing you and calling the Putty Knife A Spatchler & I really think the Spatchler is the way to go. Again. I've never done this before & with the Spatchler it took 40 Seconds to get it out of the case.

  • he said garry newmen at 7:47 he is the guy who made garrys mod lol!

  • Oh, right, didn't see it was from 2007

  • Wow, not even ddr2 ram?

  • did you guys know a Mac designed bill gates's house ? 0_0

  • Who cares what brand of computer designed Bill Gates' house, OsX or Windows, it's still a pc.

  • Correction: OS X, Windows or Linux, its still a PC =)

  • Haha, so true!

  • Understanding Brand Integrity Fail.

  • yes my life is worthless... i agree

  • can you give me a link to maximus p 12:30

  • nice blankets

  • After watching this video 10 times, it seems Adam seems ticked off at something.

  • I couldn't understand what AdamB was saying: "I don't use Outlook, I use --" Fill in the blank, cuz I'm lost...

    -Mike

  • Eudora. It was a popular email client for Mac OS 6, 7, 8, 9 and was also popular on Windows 3.1, 3.11, 95, and 98. It later came back based on thunderbird (IIRC) but died again a bit later.

  • I still use Eudora under 10.5.6. I had to work around a crashing problem when using the built-in sounds, but, it's still my email problem of choice.

  • hey al whats the program that the guy was using at 12:26? thanks!

  • lol manwithemagictouch your an idiot...Great video alfed as always

  • I guess neither you nor AdamB thought to look at one of the many videos on youtube on how to PROPERLY open a mini.

It should take about 30-40 seconds tops. I can open mine in about 20 sec.

Watching this it looked like AdamB was trying to repeatedly stab the mini. Not to knock him but he can't call himself a geek after this debacle. Shameful!

  • Does it really matter? As long as it works and no damage is done, it shouldn't matter much.

  • there's a cereal called life?

  • Actually, to my viewers who see this, if you'd really like to see 'Pointless', do view ManWithTheMagicTouch's video entitled "Ribena-ade", as a starter.

Quite frankly, I find his comment here quite rude and obnoxious, when as you all know, especially my viewers, that the videos on my channel are indeed 'tongue in cheek' and made to give you a few smiles.

Now, I'm not going to get into an argument with this obnoxious, 13 year old, but I wanted to indeed address his comment.

  • aaaaahhhhh. Peter Griffin shoutout ;)

  • lol i have the same "ratty crap" adam has (the g4). i hate it, the imac and new pro looks awesome

  • Have you ever heard of screws?

  • and u get a wiwi

  • the ring u mentioned is the one i use on my home phone :D

  • they put the wrong one in and it wasn't even in straight. rofl

  • You use the G4 cube as decoration? w00t!

  • ahh but it's funny!

  • If he does that, it's not the Al we like. Al made himself popular with:

    "Nock it off!

    and

    "Whateva."

    and

That former afro of his that I wish he was still young enough to have.

  • knock it off

    lol

  • It takes two putty knives for expert apple users to get into this amazing 24th century design! Way to impress me, Mr. Jobs.

  • im laughing my ass off for the first 2 min.

many tabs and 3 fantas, adam is crazy

  • hmmm

  • nokia rington.

  • no he was sharpening his spatulas the better to cut the apple with.

  • the spatulas are for cooking apples on the grill.

  • lol

  • lol he bought that damn rayman instead of gears of war...pshh lmao

  • Damn, well someone misses the point.

Is your Dimension a 6.5x6.5x2 inch computer? Didn't think so.

  • true, the mini is an unconventional computer, but it's made to be a put-anywhere machine for people who need access to desktop peripherals without the cost of a laptop.

It's also meant to be a Media Center PC. Would you want a full tower chugging away next to your DVR? No.

  • lmfao.... "this computer is very.....DENSE". LMFAO

  • nice speaker at 4:41 that oblong shaped thing

  • I always use a pizza cutter to open my mini

  • dose that work i Brock my putty nife

  • Jesus Christ! Buy a dictionary please! Or just do a spell check next time

  • Nice max/msp stuff...

  • lets go into the bowels of the g4

  • That was a funny surprise at the end there.

  • great vid.

    nice cube mac.

  • haha that was funny!

  • a wii wii funny

  • macworld in exactly 2 weeks guys!

  • putillos great vid..!

  • Wow, that thing is compact. Apple still needs to upgrade the mac mini to be in line with the rest of the macs with a bigger hard drive and more ram.

  • i agree, i have one

  • What I want is a MacMidi - between the MacPro and MacMini. High-end processor in a small box, with room for 1 or 2 3.5" hard drives, a nice amount of RAM, a SuperDrive, and a decent video card. iMacs are nice, but I already bought a nice monitor, don't need to buy another one. I hope it would be easier to open that that mini.

I don't think we'll see it anytime soon, though. At least I haven't read any rumors about a box like that. It's all laptops and tablets in the rumor mills these days...

  • I do think that you should get a Mac mini and customize it, you should get the $800 one cause it comes with a Super-Drive and what you can do is open it up, install a 2.5" 200GB or whatever sized harddrive you want and put it 2 1GB RAM sticks so that it can have 2GB of RAM, i recommend that you install Crucial memory since it's the one that Apple uses and btw, the $800 one comes with a 2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor which is enough but you can later upgrade it to what you want (below)

  • what we really need is a re-invention of the G4 Cube. Maybe the intel cube?

  • Yes, exactly. And now that Apple got Intel to build the C2D chip onto a smaller package for the MacBook Air, maybe we can see something along the lines of a nice, white cube, eight inches on each side. Lots of room for full sized drives and RAM. Maybe smaller, since the Core 2 Duos don't need the chimney for cooling like the G4 Cube did. I mean, you could make toast on one of those things...

  • yh, I've never seen one in person, but apparently they did run a little 'warm'. And it wouldnt even have to be that big, maybe like 4 or 5 inches on each side.

  • lol, so cool adam!!!

  • will Al ever boot up the cube on camera?

  • Oh, just you wait. I purchased a dual processor 1.5 G4 upgrade for it, RAM, and a video card. I'll be grabbing Adam B to install all of that crap real soon -- stay tuned.

  • Cant Wait to see that, are you putting it in the music studio or the office?

  • roflmao @ this vid.

I am an appliance salesman at sears now, haha.

    wii wii /snort

  • NICE VIDEO

  • "There was two cool dude... One bit of Apple hardware. The battle begins emotions high - Sunday Nights Sky One"

Holiday Hardware Hacking - An emotional Roller coaster - The Guardian (A British National Newspaper)

Mate look on the bright side it could of been worst! You could have powered up the Apple Lisa WITHOUT A MOUSE!!!

  • lets consult the book of ominance!!!!!! lol

  • ROFL! Hilarious!

  • what was the name of that motion sensing device?

  • sudden motion sensor

  • Man you guys are quick witted. Keep up the great vids.

  • You have a G4 cube as an ornament on your piano dont you al

  • lol yeah i saw that

  • My next computer I get will definitely be a mac!!

  • Man, I can't wait for my Mac.

  • lol, i loved the ending about the wrong ram

  • ROFL

  • I have a G4 mini and getting it open was frickin nightmare. Why can't Apple make it easier to get into? Would 4 screws on the bottom REALLY damage the aesthetic?! I heard there is an easier way though; using wire instead of putty knives?

  • Well, all the take-apart guides I could find all say to use putty knives. I usually follow the guides at ifixit dot com.

This was the only the second mini I ever opened, and the first one was a breeze compared to this one. I think I once read about an opening procedure that involved threading a piece of wire through the case to pop the prongs open, but I can't find it now. I'll stick with the putty knives for the time being.

  • That was an old G4 one as well. With the intel ones you have to take the drives out just to change the ram.

I'm hoping to get a Core Duo mini soon :)

  • yeah i would think that putty knives would do the least amount of damage to the case and anything around the motherboard. someone once said anything doing is worth doing well. someone also once said wibbly wobbly, timey wimey, but that was completely off topic. :)

  • Alfred, I gotta say... I LOVED this video! Oh man, I wish I could've been there for that. We would've had so much fun! It was great to see some other people, as well. And how dare you threathen my Rayman-buying decision! Hahaha

I can definitely see myself watching this again in the very near future. I love these videos! It brings me back to "Macintosh G4 Upgrade." Ah, good times!

  • hmm, I just realized, apple has the mac mini, and they had the ipod mini...whats to come next the mac nano?

  • Of course Santa is an anagram of Satan... Hail Santa!

  • quality as always

  • Reminds me when i took apart my step-dads old PC keyboard, HOLY CRAP! coffee, hair, and black gunk!

  • I knew that ending was coming, I had noticed that the clip wasn't all the way down.

  • Shoulda got the mini-Mac opener from Acme, just like the Road Runner does.

  • At 6:08 does that PowerMac G4 cube work?

  • lol gut it and make it a cereal bowl XD

  • Noooo!

  • that must be awesome!

  • LMAO nice job on the mac mini XD

  • i love all the computer parts strewn over the computer....plus i laughed so hard when it took so long to open that little guy up..

5 stars as usual Al...Great Work!!

  • Glad you were laughing. I was sweating it a bit. Opening someone else's computer in front of an audience of hundreds was messing with my concentration.

  • Yeah we noticed. Lol

  • Love the cube you have sitting on the piano... Nice taste in art! I have that same piano by the way!

  • alfred you rock... you are hilarious... hope to hear from you soon dude :)

  • Funny that the Mac Mini was designed by the same company as the G5/mac pro, some of the easiest computers to open up.

  • What about the powermac G4 >:(

  • ''I thought it was a type of sandwich...sorry bad joke'' So random lol.

And I lol'd at the Dr. Evil Impression Adam did.

    5 Stars as usual.

  • At 6:08 does that PowerMac G4 cube work?

  • At the end you should have said ok on the the G4 Cube lol the look on Adam's face would have been priceless

  • Actually, when Al and I were trading emails about what I was to be working on that day, he joked about getting a processor upgrade for the Cube. I told him that if he had it by the time I got to his place, I'd install it. I was disappointed he didn't get it. I want to take that thing apart....

  • if you guys ever do that you diffently have to film it!

  • I AM awesome, aren't I?

  • Hahah don't get too excited!!!

  • I think that it was your fault you forgot to put in the new ram

  • Like I'm going to admit to that on camera. Heh...

  • lolz

  • hehe that was awesome!

  • When in the hell is the NeXTCube video coming?

  • The MacMini sure is one tough nut to crack....even required adam re-sharpen his tools first.

Great vid alfred. Loved the jokes

  • is that g4 cube in the background of 10.36??

  • THanks Alfred, I had fun watching it! 5 Stars!

  • Another Great Video Alfred. Very Funny. When is Adam B's new book coming out "101 things to do with Spatulas" lol. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

  • Adam B should actually make a book on how to upgrade macs. I'd buy it.

  • Lol! Now, why didn't you just test the damn thing before you put the lid back on?

  • It looks like that thing would have overheating problems, but that's just me.

  • haha great video al!
