If you've every studied musical Theory, then you'd know that the reason these two songs "mash" together is that they A- are in the same key B- They have a similar time signature (meaning a similar 'beat' as it were) and C- their tonal scale is matching (Meaning they often have the same pitch in particular parts). You'd be surprised at how many songs do. There is only a small range of pitches that sound good together. There are bound to be similarities. Don't be dumb.
