Nice! :) Personally I think software still needs to come a looong way before hardware is "obsolete." Flexibility and consistency are nice, but for stability, low latency, novelty, and "soul," I still love hardware.
It should be said for the sake of aspiring do-it-yourselfers, the effects make a HUGE difference here. Stock, the 3P is rather devoid of low punch, and the lack of portamento is a drag. But they do have a charm, and the Jup 8 filter. :)
Brings back memories. I had one of these when they first came out. Loved it then and have kicked myself multiple times for getting rid of it. I really like your track BTW, Lovely- the way your blending the old with the modern!
hardware espcially a synth with twiddly knobs n sliders is far more inspiring than a soft synth and a mouse/lcd....or a hardware synth with a parameter access dial...i used to have a jx3p with the pg200 also a sh09 i'm currenlty looking to get back into writing music after a 10year break from it and will be demoing a roland sh 201 this week with luck...seems people either hate it or love it on youtube!
I have dumped Juno 106 sounds onto dat and mini disk in the past and loaded them back in. So I guess you could record data into the computer as audio computer data like in the past with loading games up from tape. Once on the computer you could send it out anywhere i would have thought. I have ot checked the back of the JX3p to see if there is a tape dump on it of late.
Thank you, I notice you have vids up for Yamaha DX7 IId and JX8p. I didn't realise that people were still so into hardware gear. I kind of assumed that every one would dump their old gear and move to softsynths. However, people are snaping hardware up on ebay still from what I can tell.
Yes It's true, people still love hardware. I got out of hardware towards the end of the 90s and into softsynths but in recent years wanted hardware again as I found software far less inspiring.. and I just love buying this stuff usually CHEAPER than what the VSTs cost :)
Good mastering, awesome sound, thanks for this wonderful video !

Yes that's a good point, it can be done via WAV file (I've seen the factory wav file on the net which loads in via the JX's tape input).
So yes it can be done without a mod :)

@new hooper - if both synths (yours and his) had the jx-3P midi expansion mod you COULD share voices via midi (patch dump to PC). :)
I love my JX-3P btw...
Great demo mate... nice sounds
