I am a half greek & half finnish and I had shown HUGE difference between these populations in the taste of music. In north we have big variation of metal bands and proportionally big amount of fans in heavy metal in south we have many kinds of music in traditional music. In north the finnish traditional music is really poor

They are a great band, but to be honest I prefer them in the studio to live, as their music has a complexity that doesn't always come out with a concert sound system.

I currently have nothing but Amorphis on my MP3pod so that I can memorise every track. It's not working, they have just done so many. I just have to keep on listening I guess.

Actually, many of the kids in Sweden & Finland are being fed with a special metal-milk (tastes like metal too) by their mothers, and it is this milk that turns them into metal-geniuses. That's why their so good at coming up with epic melodies, lyrics etc. ;) That's why I'm proud of being half Swedish, half Finish. (:

Im not very into norwegian metal, and then I mainly think of Black metal because thats what they are famous for within music right? But ofc there are some well known metalbands from norway like Dimmu Borgir, Mayhem, Gorgoroth and Satyricon. Not really my cup of tea, but what I am trying to say is that the Swedish and Finnish metal acts are more commercial than the Norwegian, therefore more well known.

Amorphis is very interesting band for me. When I heard their songs for the first time thought this cannot be a metal band. Yes, sometimes there is a deep and brutal sound of frontman's voice, othervise generally these songs are very melodic and the sound is...light. I'm very glad that this year they will be on Masters of rock festival.
