I happen to prefer DN over Air America because of the scope/depth of coverage, but the claim in the description is wrong because it misunderstands the scope of the question Franken is addressing. Which of the mainstream media sources provide the most/least verifiably factual reporting. Franken offers his opinon not that NPR/PBS are objectively any better than DN in terms of veracity, but merely that the broadcast is "too lefty..." [to be included in this comparison of mainstream sources].
"Well..." he says, in a contrary tone of voice, in order to begin to contradict the claim that Amy Goodman is as good a source as NPR. But because of the cheers, he simply blows off Pacifica as too "leftie" in order to be safe with the audience. He makes his feelings of Pacifica quite clear, although you have to read the undertones because of the interrupting cheering audience. Franken-Lovers are probably too blinded to read the undertones of this corporate NPR-loving stooge.
