  • its a good version don't judge it so hard, besides play this song when u try to bring back chrono

  • too much drama

  • People who keep hating on this version need to remember that it isn't replacing the original.

Both are good, just in different ways. I like this version, but it's too melancholy to suite Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger had a really good ending, not a depressing one.

That said, I do like this version.

  • Adding lyrics? Sacrilege.

  • I don't have anything against Kee, this is a great job. BUT, having played Chrono Trigger, and listened to this song IN the game, I can say it isn't meant to be this sad! Although this arrangement is good, I think Kee totally changed the purpose of this track.

  • @OmegaShinigami That is part of the wonder of remixing. You can do anything you want.

  • Did they just set the metronome to random or something?

  • A very nice theme, Reuben Kee truly composed some incredible music. RIP.

  • Life... a small spark between two eternities.

  • I'm 3 years late prior to post date. I love it. Amazing. :-) And the lyrics also do justice. A glass to the late composer.

  • Rest in Peace Reuben Kee, saddening such an awesome talent had to pass away so young.

  • Why does this trash start out all slow and overdramatic? It's supposed to be full of energy and joy. Maybe I am too harsh. ;-)

  • I think the original without the lyrics is superior. The pace is better.

  • @DBCOOPER888 Agree completely. The rubato slurs the enjoyment. There was another piano version that I heard that was superior in terms of pace and it's in the original key. They changed the key to a major key and it messes up the beauty of the original

  • this song was unbelievable even without lyrics... <3

  • What can i say... Every time i listen to this, i feel my whole body getting a little warmer... Thank you for this. It's a beautiful song, and the lyrics just fits perfectly.

  • I want his playing on my death bed.

  • for 7 people the future refused to change...

  • simply epic ps3 or wiiu remake with these for soundtrack would be heavenly

  • I'm afraid that the switching between English and Japanese always bothered me. I would also echo the requests for the vocal free version of this. I hate to sound like a hater, but it's just my opinion.

  • Does anyone want to know why Chrono Trigger is such an amazing game? Because some of the people that worked at Square were retiring, and they knew this would be the last game they made. They tried to make it as beautiful and epic as possible, and they succeeded. There are probably other reasons too, but I thought I'd just share a little.

  • Actually...can you please post a version without the singing, I think that would be much better.

  • Great until she weeaboos out and starts pointlessly singing in moonrunes

  • @DarconAdonis Yeah just like when the Japanese artists start blabbing in English but you sure don't bitch then do you?

  • @strikerk You are correct; I don't bitch because I don't listen to such things.

  • @DarconAdonis Japanese is her first language not english. So she isn't a weeaboo.

  • @DarconAdonis troll on something that didn't revolutionize gaming...douche.

  • Crimen Sollicitationis

  • The first time I heard this song, I loved it... until the singing started. But I still gave it a chance. But given how much I dislike both the singer and the decision to switch back and forth between singing in English and Japanese, I quickly felt like they had butchered one of my favorite pieces of music of all time. Love the piano in it, but I really dislike that singer.

  • Someone added words to this song? THIS IS SO HOT

  • I thought your voice was beautiful, and the lyrics were very deep and heartfelt. I say A+ in my books xD

  • don't really like the singing (-_-)

  • Thank you.

  • Chills... Like, the ending of a Chrono Trigger movie.

  • @omganotherun Chrono Trigger movie...

    To that, I say YES.

  • @OMIGHTYGUY only if they do it right. Please no Americanized BS like Dragonball Evo. Ruining one of my childhood anime's. Ugh.

  • Wow...this sends shivers up my spine.

  • i dont remeber listening to this song in the game O.O' but even so this music is stunning. *.*

  • @TheAcrol18 This is the ending song, the one with the balloons and stuff minus the lyrics xP

  • @SyrathZidane

thanks for that! ^^ maybe i dont remember this song cause i dont really do this ending with the ballons. i dont like sacrifacing epoch =X

  • @TheAcrol18 they played it along with the epoch ending. This was the ending theme for the whole game.

  • @beckasha83

its been some time since i last played this game :s

i guess i have no choice but to start it again to see if i can remeber it xD

  • Beautiful. just beautiful.

  • I wouldn't say the singer ruined this song... other OCRemixes seem to be better off w/o lyrics, but this one was handled well

  • Damn singer ruined the song.

  • @Chris8282 I agree I love this song just the way it is. The instrumental would have been fine, but the lyrics!? At first the lyrics sounded alright with the song I was kinda of warming up to it, but then the Japanses singing came out. Come on if your going to add lyrics, do it one language or they wanted to they could have went one English and the other Japanese. Well thats my opinion about it.

  • No, YouTube, I do not like this video.

I LOVE it! Why oh why don't you have a ♥ button???

  • I wish i could give this a thousand likes

  • @DSparamus

    YES

  • 2 people have no fucking souls. This song made my eyes water a bit.

  • these dudes did a really good job

  • why doesnt square enix make an updated version of this amazing game with ff13 graphics???

  • @OCMOOO

Give it 10 or so years. If they still give a shit about it, they might.

"Want more Chrono? BUY MORE CHRONO!" -Shinji Hashimoto, Square-Enix Senior Vice-President (paraphrased)

  • I was like O_O when I heard it first time. Amazing voice, amazing lyrics, amazing music! Perfection...

  • I think they did great with the lyrics. Amazing.

  • I reeeeeeally could have done without the vocals in this song.

  • Wow. Until now I would have assumed turning the melody into lyrics would have been a disaster. I'm proven wrong. The lyrics are surprisingly well done and not at all corny.

  • There is only ONE thing missing from this song, and that's the presence of the ticking of the clock near the end. I always found that I would have to stop whatever I was doing and close my eyes, envisioning the passing of the game in my memories whenever this happened.

  • why don't they have the dlc for ps3????

  • Nice remixes, but god is Symphonic's movie script horrid.

  • Stunning and beautiful =) Thank you.

  • why did they have to add lyrics :\

  • mm those lyrics are really sad...i saw in an interview in enix website for chrono trigger.

Mr mitsuda said he had spent time on this song BEFORE chrono trigger...He really meant this song for a certain person he wanted to live a generation with. His lover I guess...mm its brilliant.yet sad.

  • Yeah... Great song... Pretty lyrics, but... I think this isn't the idea of this song... Sorry =/

  • I love this song! thanks for uploading it!

  • ruined the song

  • Wow, didn't expect to be reading about Reuben Kee here! xD

  • nice music... i have never play this game but the Character in the images look like them from Dragonball xD

  • @klopweed123 That's because the guy who designed the characters is the creator of Dragonball = ) Akira Toriyama! He's also done the Dragon Quest designs over the years...

  • I really like this song on the SNES, and this is all the better. It still has that sad feel to the song that the SNES version did. It's a sort of bittersweet melody, because in the end you save the world, but you also must let go of your friends throughout time. Love this song.

  • Chrono Trigger... i hate remembering but at the same time love remembering this great game and based on my own thoughts the greatest ive played and i have played many games over the years, brings tears

  • When i listen to this, i remember about the last days chrono's party spent together, when they defeated lavos together, working together. But they had to say goodbye, everyone went back to their lives like nothing has happened, but deep inside they knew they had saved the whole world from destruction and when they look back... they'll remember those good times having adventures through space and time. Their lives had changed for good, thank you square for making such a beautiful game.

  • I agree with this being one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard and that Trigger was absolutely one of the best games ever. The lyrics in this song have the ability to make one cry, the melody soothes one's soul. While the English lyrics make you calm the Japanese one strengthen you in its best way. 5 stars! I love it so much.

  • is it just me or does she switch back and forth from english to Japanese? I always only have it as background music for my online stuff.

  • Yeah she does.

  • Reminds me of LOTR for some reason.

  • oh my god.....I just cried. a bit.

  • Show some respect people, this isn't a place to have debates. This man has died, and you shouldn't discuss such trivial things like that.

  • Oh, same here. Same here for pretty much all that.

  • The best part is that the Rapanese/Jaglish/Wapanese/Weeabese has a strong American accent, just like Engrish in Japanese songs has a strong Japanese accent. I'm not even close to being fluent in Japanese, but even I can tell an American accent when I hear one. I wonder if it sounds as ridiculous/slurred/completely nonsensical to Japanese listeners as Engrish sounds to us?

  • Another confounding mystery of the Chrono saga. (or, in this case, its fandom)

  • I was shocked to find out that Reuben Kee is no longer with us. :O I haven't kept up with his website and didn't realize he had passed. My sympathy goes out to the family and close friends of Mr. Reuben Kee. R.I.P

  • I didn't know that either. ;_;

  • I really liked this one, but I think I'd like it even more without someone singing =/

  • This is amazing, one of my favorite songs on my ipod. Should have so many more views. So beautiful.

  • Love it, Chrono Trigger is one of the most memorable RPGs ever. Brings back memories.

  • Most epic thing ever imho.

This game defeats reality with it's unprecedented level of perfection. Cross was a great game.. an EXCELLENT game in fact, but they were right when they said they could not top Trigger. The only thing that could come as close to Trigger is a good chunk of Cross musical tracks. Trigger is the only game ever made that EVERY SINGLE SOUND BYTE is enjoyable. EVERY song in the game even the fun songs that don't convey the heavy emotion that the events of the game carry...

  • ...are fun to listen to

  • This game and everything about it makes me feel the exact same way devout religious people feel about their god. Even if you tried to show me a perfectly good reason why this game is not the best game ever made and backed it up with solid logic... I would still deny you the justice of being right.

  • @dyzziedyazn : Hell yes. It's so true that I added this comment into my list of favorite quotations on Facebook.

  • I am honored =D

  • @dyzziedyazn I totally understand how you feel. I played hundreds of games and I enjoyed a lot of them but I dont know why I like this game so much. Maybe I was sad when I played the game at first time and gave me some kind of hope. I dont think square will be able to replicate the magic of this classic maybe is the reason why they are so negligent to work on a sequel.

  • @dyzziedyazn it's interesting that you said what you said. you should check out (if you haven't already) a site that points out numerous blatant references in this game to The Bible. It's really pretty startling. naturally this is the same basic team that made Xenogears. the site (without spaces):

  • @sonickchri Ouch, that's... so unbelievably lame. It feels like a mockery of one of the things I've come to love the most in this world. Oh well, you can't stop people from expressing themselves and so it has a right to exist, but it certainly has me at a slight disappointment.

  • @dyzziedyazn Fun songs have carry no heavy emotion? I cry when I hear 'Delightful Spekkio'

  • can't stop listening to this song ever since i heard it on ocr.

RIP reuben kee, he surely was a genius!

  • Not that it's bad, but piano and vocals does not symphonic make.

  • Chrono Symphonic is the name of the entire project, which consist of 25 songs running beautifully in Chronological order from start to finish, as if you were playing the game itself, which of most songs are Symphonic

  • I wish I had the lyrics to this, since some of them are a little hard to make out. Otherwise, it's beautiful.

  • I can add the lyric to the song if you would like. Just check the info in 1 min.

  • Very appreciated.

I love this song. It really does the Chrono Trigger BGM track justice.

  • I wish I had the chords to play along with the song... Thanks for your work, the game will live on forever thanks to you!

  • Cried!

  • the guy who composed this is Reuben Kee.

    RIP Reuben Kee

  • Extremely beautiful song, well arranged and well performed, but I really don't like the switches between Japanese and English. It bugs the hell out of me. I'd like it better if there were two versions in different languages or something.

  • could be nice

  • RIP Reuben Kee. =(

I can't listen to this song anymore without losing my composure. Unquestionably beautiful.

  • Wow this video definitely needs more views!!!

  • One of the best songs on the album.

  • After having listened about 60 times, I think it's because the japanese sounds so much more aggresive and dangerous and it really gives an edge to the melody that it doesn't have without the voice, nor when it's in english. The english seems too pretty and smoochy compared to the more stingy and needlesharp japanese.

  • im with Cmckerracher,

i kind of like it better without vocals, but this seriously took my breath away!

did you come up with the lyrics yourself? and whoever did the singing has an AMAZING voice!

  • The vocals are just perfect, I love the transition between Japanese and English as well, even though the lyrics meanings are the same in both languages.

  • Yeah, random switches between English and Jap work really goddamn well.

  • I am not big on lyrical additions to vg msuic, but holy crap this is amazing.

  • I fell in love with Chrono Symphonic, especially with this song! Your album is FANTASTIC! Way to go, you're the BEST!!!

    Greetings from Milan =)
