I heard about Aung San Suu Kyi for the 1st time last year, 2009, when I was reading U2 by U2 book and Bono mentioned the song 'Walk On' he made for her.

Democracy for Burma!!! Democracy for all the countries in this World. It's about time!!! This should be part of the United Nations policies: No country should be under any kind of dictatorship. I put this video on my Facebook page to share with my firends. FREEDOM!!!

She definitely is brave. The new constitution does not allow her to stand for election because she was married to the Briton. However, the new constitution has been written specifically for that reason because former Burma dictator, Ne Win, married a non-Burmese when he was in Power. So, the new constitution plays in perpetuating the brutal regime in Burma.

And they are going to have the second election in 2010 which aims to override the 1990 election result where Aung San Suu Kyi won 80% of the election. We all know that they are playing that fucking game, and none of us should just stand watch them do whatever they want. So, please sign the petition.

I visited Myanmar this past summer across the border from Ranong, Thailand. I had an uneasy feeling the whole time I was there with army guards with machine guns everywhere.
