  • @lesterclaypool1 ya done a lot of research since then. had no idea how big the pod world is

  • Yes, it's an Amphipod and we sell them. Their are different species from different regions and this one looks like it came from Fiji so maybe off your live rock if you have any or just hitchhiked in. They are fantastic to have in a reef and you want them! They eat detris and will often be found in your sponge filters of an overflow box, etc. Great food source for small mouth feeders also. Enjoy!

  • i just recently found these in my saltwater refugium. i thought they were killing my plants because the plant was loosing its leaves. this is all new to me and still doing more research

  • Yea thats an amphipod. Therre great for your reef they eat everthing even poop. I stock my tank every 6months or so with 2500 of them for my flame angel, manadrin, and scooter blennie. They cost about $40 for that many.

  • @lesterclaypool1 These are not "sea monkeys" (aka brine shrimp). They are amphipods. You don't just buy eggs and hatch them.

  • @ken668 you are correct , my mistake thanks

  • I have them in my tank, and I have zoanthids, I sure hope they don't bother them.
