@V45Rider I struggle to understand how people can't see it either...the song on this album My Start in Wallsend still grabs me to this day...when it was first out I was going through a terrible time and I nearly melted the CD! can't find it on here though I'm afraid....

This brings back so many memories ☺ I'll never forget when I discovered the song "Cathedral park" and was just blown away by the emotion! Their music is just so well done, hard to imagine anyone NOT being affected by them ♪
This song made me "feel" is all am going to say,in fact, this song and "Not so manic now" made me feel emotion.
I like feeling emotion, maybe its because im a human being.
Many of us humans have forgotten what we are.
You wont remember what we really are if you keep watching shit like Eastenders, those characters portray human being as day to day negative miserable bastards and then you all go and copy it in real life!
Stop watching soaps.
My thoughts are enough btw,i have put them out there..
Love this song - revisiting all my old albums and this is top notch. Great Billy Bragg song. God I miss the oldies with the sh*te in the charts at the moment.
There was a great live performance of this song. does anyone know why it was removed? Ms. Blackwood, if you had it removed that was a big mistake because it made me find out what you're up to now.
Billy Bragg is one of the finest British songwriters since the 1960's - but his songs usually suffer because they are almost impossible to produce in credible cover versions.
@thallassocracy What do you mean by "suffer"? I don't see why cover versions are needed to appreciate original songs. All the same, this is certainly a listenable cover that does sound a lot different. I still prefer the original rendition by a large margin.
whoa, the same thing happened to me, I was 18, random holiday in London and managed to grab the 1st edition of th CD (the one who was censored) and... never met another fan in my life!
Awesome song, possibly one of the best riffs of all time and her singing is stunning - totally beyond me how anyone can prefer the BB version to this but everyone's different I suppose!
This was up (live version) a couple years ago...Dubstar at a German music award show...prefer the BB version but glad this is up....one of the greatest love songs of all time imo.
Its weird I like the Billy Bragg version much better, but that could be because I heard it first and am used to it. Perhaps if I had got to know this version first, I might like it better. Strange that.
Not bad actually.
But just not anywhere near the emotion of the Billy Bragg original, for me.

The line "I miss the thunder I miss the rain" is in my head all day. So I Google searched it, and this is it.

@thallassocracy A bold claim, followed by a compelling assertion. Either way, this version is sublime.
