nice idea, but it runs too long. its a shame you could do nothing about the change in sound, but if done properly with shorter selective cut-aways i could see this actually improving what is already one of the most dramatic scenes of the saga.

you should picth this to Lucasfilm. maybe someone there woluld have the nerve to be bold enough to consider your effort, before they release the blue-ray edition which is coming next year.

Can I remind all those who are negative about Vader seeing the event in question that Master Yoda told Luke in Empire Strikes Back "Through the force things you will see. The future, the past, old friends long gone...." So the theory that Vader could have seen the births of his children could have been entirely possible.

Asides from what others have said, I still like this approach, because it really shows more depth into Luke's resolve - that there still is good in Vader, and showing Vader's motivation to stop the Emperor. Thanks for posting (and if Lucas can change the "ghost" at the end of ROTJ, he should have considered doing this, but hey, that probably will be in the next box set! LOL)

Good idea about the flashbacks. Though I think I would've done them with a sort of filter blurry, made them shorter, sort of like small pieces that show up randomly, and that they don't actually interrupt what's going on in that scene in terms of audio. Like, keep the music of RotJ playing while they show, but the actual flashbacks have no sound.

2. Anakin wasnt there when Luke was born, so he cant have a flashback to that.
