The Jazzmaster has always been under rated as a guitar. I've been playing that and strats for years and the Jazzmaster is always the guitar of choice for many different styles of music. You can get any sounds out of it you want and make them all count! It's great for jazz too believe it or not. It can produce really mellow full tones for a solid body guitar.
