  • Ashera is a pagan God.

  • @Samael51760 Where does the bible contradict itself . Please post the scripture please. I deal in fact not propaganda.

  • ....cont....According to scripture Yahweh has never broken covenant, he has renewed covenant through Yeshua. That’s why Yeshua said He came for the lost tribes of Israel.

    Blessings & Shalom

  • ....cont....Because this has been done by you, and you have not kept My covenant and My statutes that I charged on you, I shall surely tear the kingdom from you and shall give it to your servant. Only, I will not do it in your days, for the sake of your father David; I shall tear it out of your son's hand.

1 Ki 11:13 Only I will not tear away all the kingdom; I will give one tribe to your son for my servant David's sake, and for the sake of Jerusalem that I have chosen.....cont.....

  • There was NO end to the covenant of Yahweh with the House of David…..as a covenant can not be broken....1 Kings 11:9-12 And YAHWEH was angry with Solomon, for his heart had bent away from YAHWEH, Elohim of Israel who had appeared to him twice, and had given a charge to him concerning this thing, not to go after other Elohim; and he did not keep that which YAHWEH commanded. And YAHWEH said to Solomon, .....cont.....

  • ...cont... This could also explain why Israelites of this time had these idols in their homes and perhaps included her in tomb inscriptions…..the people learn from those in charge….Yahweh was angry with Solomon and punished him for it. Therefore Ashtoreth is NOT Yahwehs wife. (Asherah, or Ashtoreth, was the name of the chief female deity worshiped in ancient Syria, Phoenicia, and Canaan. The Phoenicians called her Astarte, the Assyrians worshiped her as Ishtar also known as Easter)

  • 1 Ki 11-6 And it happened, at the time Solomon was old, his wives turned away his heart after other elohim (gods), and his heart was not perfect with YAHWEH his Elohim (God), like the heart of his father David. And Solomon went after Ashtoreth, goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom, the abomination of the Ammonites; and Solomon did evil in the sight of YHVH, and did not go fully after YHVH like his father David...cont....

  • Then around 600bc Solomon's Temple was destroyed and there were around 70,000 people of Israel just returning to Jerusalem. Read From Ezra

    Bible tells the truth

  • In King David's and Solomon they were king over 2million people in Israel and Judah year around 1,000bc, But Solomon's son Rehoboam ruled only Judah and Solomon's servant ruled Israel. Read from 1 Kings 14

  • God did not have a wife. In the bible worship of Ashera and many others are forbidden by name. What this guy is saying contradicts the bible. Blasphemy.

  • @chestveeg The Da Vinci Code suggests God had a wife. Even though it's a fiction book it presents many facts. The Bible sometimes contradicts itself anyway. It is people like you that suppress science and archaeology in an effort to send us back to the Dark Ages. Unless you open your mind you are a problem.

  • The most dangerous lies are truths slightly modified.

  • The most dangerous are lies are truths slightly modified.

  • I can't see how it's akward to think that (some of) the Israelites worshipped a goddess. We know from the prophets that they did and that's why they were punished by exile. This is perfectly biblical.

  • @missgreeneyes56 Unless of course the idea of YWHW not having a wife is post-exile which is what most scholars today agree upon.

Again we each have our faith or lack of... I personally think the scholarly ideas of today come with so much overwhelming evidence (of all sorts) and logic that it makes it hard to dismiss.

  • @Joniversity “To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.” St. Thomas Aquinas . As far as the God of Israel having a wife, it was obvously not taught but practised. Human nature is such that when times are hard, people will go against their faith to feed their families.

  • @Joniversity the bible is clear on the fact that the israelites worshiped neighboring gods. why would they pick a single male god over the female deity in the babylonian captivity. the bible is consistant in its declaration rthat israelites sinned by worshipping the gods of the other nations. where is this overwhelming evidence of wich you speek. this had been a field of interest for me for more than 30 years and i've not seen any convincing evidence for a new religion from babylion.

  • @zebb1111 By looking at the comparative age of some of the texts we know that the biblical view was of one God stronger than the other gods and suddenly the post-exilic God - is the ONLY god, and he also magically lost his wife (Asherah/Shekhinah) this is also the point in which he turns into a universal god rather than a national god. We also know that this new concept starts with the post-exilic Ezra and Nehemiah.

There's a lot more to say about this, but it's enough for now.

  • @Joniversity who knows the age of the texts. the scholars are in total disagreement on that point. even the date for the books of the torah are constantly being revised. the german antisemite scholars of the 19th century have been found to be full of crap. you would have to show conclusive evidence for a post exhilic authorship for deuteronomy and genesis to make the claims your making. a theory based on a bad theory is not a valid arguement.

  • @Joniversity why did Jehovah win the post exhilic battle anyway? why would the israelites infer that he was angry at them and caused their exhile without some memory of pre-exhilic laws. why not baal or molech or any of the female deities in stead of Jehovah. to hold water, your theory has alot of explaining to do. no, I think the jews in babylon should be given the benefit of the doubt. the late dating of daniel (circa 150 b.c.) has been shown not to hold water so why not the torah.

  • @missgreeneyes56 God never had a wife. All Finkelstein is doing is trying to refute the bible as fact and nothing more. He's gay and Liberal and hates the conservative form is judieism.

  • @4lifeReagan You ever wonder why people can't stand Christians? It's because you're a bunch of arrogant, spiteful, hate-spouting buffoons who are uniformly & unapologetically ignorant of your own book, yet you go around with a sickening pretense of humility telling everyone else you're better than them. So what if the guy is gay? If your leaders had their way blacks would still be slaves and women would be property; your religion was dragged kicking and screaming into the modern world.

  • @VanDammesCokeDealer Yeah thats me and thats how I think. You got me.

  • @4lifeReagan Then why bring up his homosexuality? It has no bearing on anything, all it does is make you sound like you fit into the loud and hateful segment of Christianity that espouses intolerance towards people for being the way God made them (according to your religion). I apologize if I generalized you into a group you don't belong to, but so many Christians use the anonymity of the internet to do and say vile things that go completely against Jesus's teachings that it is a gut reaction.

  • @VanDammesCokeDealer It has everything to do with his overall worldview. Look its a fact Finkelstien is LIBERAL and his findings relasting to Israel in the land or Israel in Egypt are always anti Israel. For him to say their is no evidence is clear cut evidence THAT HE IS BAIS not the other way around. If you disagree thats your business but I study this as part of whaty I do to make money and I'm not some gungho Christian at all I go by what history and evidence say. Israel has history!!!

  • @VanDammesCokeDealer im a christian. its idiots like 4lifeReagan that give us a bad name
