  • months have past since you post the video... so is there a relation between schizoofrenia and time perception problems? sorry for my bad english, i'm actually trying to learn it!

GREAT VIDEO ! you've got a new sub!

  • someone have to send this to TED.COM

  • And yeah im havin trouble watchin this cuz of the blind assumption that its like that for everyone.

  • @Xuhybrid And yeah I'm having trouble believing you actually looked at the x instead of the circle when doing the experiment and your brain somehow processes things faster than everybody else. 99.9999999999% sure you are lying and trying to make yourself look cool or something. If you had actually payed attention you would know that this has been proven in a lab so guess what, you are full of it.

  • Ive spent a lot of my life playing video games. I watched that video on vsauce and the flash was dead centre for me. I was a little confused when he explained what i shud have seen lol.

  • This makes me feel so stupid... At least everything he said makes sense to me.

  • 24:35 nnNNNOOooo! :D

  • So if shorter people really are "closer to the boarder of the present" does that mean children/midgets, who are both lesser in height, does that mean they are both more in the present?

  • this vid lags hard

  • very thought provoking, thanks for the upload

  • Speaking of lag, What the hell is wrong with this video?

  • Vsauce

  • is taht shoe and copmuter thnig siimlar to how poeple can raed thnigs spelled worng beacuse tehy preidct waht's about to come after and waht makes sense?

  • if i got it right, the final conclusion is that time seems slower when the brain uses more energy and faster when it uses less energy.

but since we are talking about time perception, i can't help but think about how we percieve time when we're bored and when we are having fun.

it would seem to me that when you're having fun, ur brain uses more energy than when you're bored, so time should feel slower, witch is not the case in reality

just wanted to share some of my thoughts

  • @961kgb right idea, wrong perception :( When your brain is bored it is minimally distracted, & is not thinking about anything in particular. Which means it's MORE aware/focus on the little things you're doing, like what you're actually thinking about, seeing/hearing/smelling/feeling around you. This takes more energy resulting in time seemingly moving slower. When you're having fun, you're distracted/entertained, you don't need to think, you just need to perceive/enjoy, requiring less energy.

  • Where was the conference? Btw nice work!

  • That man's a genius! I really like the way he explains!

  • He looks like that guy from Scrubs.

  • I only see the flash in the middle of the ring no matter where I focus my sight. I can't see the delayed image.

    Can anyone explain?

  • @utuebmakeustupid probably because you knew it is in the middle and your eyes concentrated there. wild guess.

  • @MrWp97 Like I said, no matter where I focus my sight ...

  • mind blow

  • i come from the past

  • very interesting

  • I am watching a lecture past midnight (instead of doing homework). Why am I so interested, and why can't school be like this everyday? Hahah fascinating stuff Mr. E

  • I don't get it. In this video /watch?v=RjlpamhrId8 the result show that there is an improvement in time perception in that kind of situations.

  • this is a very interesting study.......i'm blown away!!!

  • At first I saw the length of the video and was like "heck no". But seriously, that was very entertaining and enlightening. I hope to see some follow up videos on further studies.
