K there's like 15 parties that are not represented in the House of Commons, if we let 1 in the debate then we would need to let them all in, and then the debate would just become a debacle. And besides, if Elizabeth May "won" the last debate, it's really strange that she hasn't been sitting in the House of Commons this whole time.
@17MJG93 The Green party got roughly one million votes last election. That is 1 million Canadian citizens who seemingly don't matter in this fucked up democratic system.
And did you see this year's debate? Absolutely horrid!
@17MJG93 For sure some rules would have to apply for permitting this or that party leader into the debates. I would suggest that the party must be running in 90% of Federal ridings. These rules should not be decided by network execs.
It is, however, completely unacceptable that a few executives should have influence on our political system in this way... many "swing voters" are swayed by these debates, as they can offer a more personal reference or "insight" into the psyche of the leaders.
I'm sorry. I realize that this is political, and a serious issue, and I love the activists for showcasing what they believe in BUT
all I can think about is how hot french is. Oh lord.

I'm not saying I don't understand the frustration of Green supporters, but it just wouldn't make sense.
