The analogy used was thousands of soldiers walking over a bridge, a few hours later the bridge collapses by itself from the resonating vibrations. Look at HAARP's Alaska website for their subterranean capabilities. They do indeed have pinpoint accuracy.

this is pure rubbish. haarp only transmits 3.6 mega watts of power which is a far cry from 1 billion watts. additionally what they are seeing in the skies are rainbows or glories which are water molecules refracting natural sunlight into the visibilbe spectrum of
roygbiv ( red orange yellow green blue indigo and violet ). if you stubbed your toe in the morning when the sun rose would you blame the sun for stubbing your toe? of course not.

@jimed , actually no. Tesla was stalked and terrorized by the US government and died penniless. They stole most of his patents and inventions. What Nicola Tesla said about using HAARP was "in the wrong hands, it could crack the earth in half". He wanted it for free energy for all but this made US govt angry. HAARP was taken over by the military. All I can say about the US military is look at Iraq & Afghanistan. Then go watch the interview with US Army General ex wife Kay Griggs. She tells all.

by education i am a professional engineer and a geologist which makes me uniquely qualified to evaluate this project and it is quite difficult and down right impossible for electromagnetic waves to cause sympathetic vibrations into the mantle or crust of the earth to illicit an earthquake. earthquakes are caused by the sudden release of either tension, compression, or stress along the bboundaries of the tectonic plates. further the haarp project would need to be 3000 times larger to reach 1 G-W

yes, i am quite familiar with the upgrades and i am an electrical engineer myself. the fundamental FACT remains that this device is unable to affect the plate tectonics of the earth. earthquakes are caused by the sudden release of potential energy from the movement of tectonic plates along plate boundaries and the sudden kinetic movement of such plates. haarp emites electromagnetic radiation into our atmosphere and space.

@jimed earthquakes are caused by the increasing stress upon the tectonic plates by a gradual buildup of pressure due to slow movement over years or even decades and then suddently released by a slippage along the plates, this is GEOLOGIC ACTIVITY.
the tesla coil works in the electro-magnetic spectrum which is all around us and is NOT connected to GEOLOGIC structures.
what you have seen is found in comic books, science fiction and science fantasy.

Yes but Tesla talked about a device or a machine that could make earthquakes or change the weather, most of the things Tesla wanted to build worked, he was held back by either greedy or closed minded people.
I don't know if HAARP is the same Tesla technology, but i don't think it would be impossible to cause an earthquake some how.
The question we should ask is, if there was a technology that could cause earthquakes, would the people that had such technology use it?

one problem with such things is if you had a universal solvent, what would you keep it in?

I live in Southern California and I've been through a few quakes myself.
There's a phenomenon out here we call "earthquake weather", where we get peculiar (sometimes spectacular) sunsets, strange looking clouds, etc.
How would you explain these clouds? I know the BASIC science of earthquakes. I'm talking about a butterfly effect that can be caused by EM disturbances in the upper atmosphere.
A class M solar flare was predicted the day of the Haiti quake, but it didn't quite happen.

there have been HISTORICAL earthquakes, volcanic activity, seismic seawaves, hurricanes, and tornados BEFORE H.A.A.R.P. was constructed and these events continue to occur NATURALLY and are NOT manmade.
YOU need to get a clue and an education instead of watching science fiction movies like algore and mike moore-on

@frenchioscar yes i am aware of the studies done on certain ionosphere disturbances and earthquakes. however, the ionosphere is PRIMARILY charged by particles emitted by the sun and then get trapped in the magnetic field of the earth and interact with the upper portions of the earth's atmosphere. the result is certain gases while zoning out at various levels are then charged and interact with the other gases of earth's atmosphere.
however, there is NO DIRECT correlation with H.A.A.R.P.
