Never gave racing greyhounds a second thought till I got my own retired racer. I can assure you that I have come to realize it is beneath us as humans to wager on so magnificent a creature. The time has come in the evolution of the Greyhound to end dog racing so that dignity can be restored to the breed and ourselves.
Love your video. I used to have a greyhound and I miss her soooooo much. Even seeing pictures of her still gets me chocked up. My wife and I saved her from being a racer and a breeder. She lived to be 14 and she was the best part of my wife and me and her little boyfriend Lex (A Chihuahua).
Peace and love to all, human, dog, other animals, male, female, gay, straight, black, white, just peace and love to all and what a wonderful world it will be. Dogs don't put people down, they love all who are kind, and even those who aren't. We can learn from them. Dogs are truly divine.
There is nothing like a greyhound and unless you've had the privilege of being owned by one or more, you can't understand it. They're just special. I hope every person who has ever hurt, mistreated and abused greyhounds, or any other animals, rots in hell for all eternity - and even that wouldn't be enough punishment. It makes me sick to even think about it.

Great slideshow, greys and whippets have the most elegant stature of any dog I've ever seen. And out of all the dogs I've helped train through the years they definitly have one of the most pleasant disposistions also, I'll never understand what could drive people to abuse such a sweet animal.
Greyhounds make great pets . If you are thinking of getting a dog PLEASE consider adopting a retired racing greyhound . I can promise you from personal experience you won`t regret it !
@20mrcasper I want a Greyhound so bad, although we (My family) do already have two shelties and a cat, I've never had a dog of my own. I looked up the prices and the range seemed to be around $400-$1500 which is a lot of money but I'd spend it for one. I don't know about getting one that used to race, though... It wouldn't know me as well and I wouldn't know it and it would be a bit old, wouldn't it?
@JayTheJaymez most greyhounds finish racing at 2 to 4 years old so they are certainly not old when you think that they can live to be 12 years old or more . Greyhounds are very friendly affectionate dogs and you would soon get to know each other . Not sure where you live but if you google `Greyhound adoption` that should bring up some rescues in your area and give you some more info on looking after one .
1:16 and 1:45 look like my baby, I have a fawn grey. She brings joy to me everyday. Her face makes me in a better mood no matter what the situation is. There is something about the greyhound breed, that is so special. They have such a graceful disposition and the way greyhounds walk, with their head always looks in front while looking friendly always makes a person want to fall in love with them. i have one grey and am getting another i work at a grey hound shelter and know the majority of the dogs get treated well and all tracks have greyhound adoption agencies right there but the people who hurt murder and put these dogs through so much torture and pain when they can make someone so happy they will meet there maker f u c k those people and i pray the cruelty will be repaid

And that is one of the greyt things that makes it a wonderful world for all animals, such a simple little gesture that can make them so happy... it doesn't take much to make an animal happy and content. You are absolutely right... this is how all of our animal friends were intended to live out their lives. But Man is the cruelest of all species. We need more animal lovers such as yourself and the many people who have watched this video and left such sincere and heartfelt messages to change that.

But not all the people in Spain are like that, there are Spanish resque groups who are working with other country's to resque and save them.
