Great miniseries with an excellent international cast. But I think it's O'Toole who carries this story with another outstanding performance. Masada was, for lack of a better term,...bullshit. The Sicarii(meaning "those of the dagger"), those who inhabited Masada, were true bandits who, as documented by Josephus, slaughtered 700 Jewish women and children in one raid. There were no special engineering used by the Romans and nothing like the special ramparts in this film. The Romans simply went up the hill and saw that the Sicarii had not only committed suicide but killed unwilling members of their clan too.

Great miniseries with an excellent international cast. But I think it's O'Toole who carries this story with another outstanding performance. He and Richard Burton are two thespians who deserve several Academy Awards each, yet neither has ever won a single one. And sadly, in the latter case, never will.

Israel needs to stop the settlements and let Palestinians return to their land, and end all discrimination against Palestinians. I fully support the Jewish state but its current treatment of the Palestinians is wrong and unjust.

Thank you for your sympathies towards Ireland. There is very good reason however why Irish are sympathic towards the Palestians. We see them also as being in the same situation we are in and the Jews were in the past.
I don't hate Jews or any ethic group at all but think that if things do not improve for Palestinians thinks will not improve for Isreal either.
One interesting point, the Isrealis who were fighting the Brittish for independence modeled themselves on the IRA.

Aside from if people believe the Palestinians should have a homeland or not they do suffer from alot of discrimination and injustice.
As for the homeland issue, I hear some people talk of a joint Isreali/Palestinian state rather than a two seperate solution. Don't know which would be best but one can argue no solution would work without enough support.
