Well said. I have a friend who isa a hungarian gypsy. He is a good man and was/is an incredible dancer.

Unfortunately, the stereotypes do exist and are true for the majority. And agian, it is unfortunate that in my numerous travels (for months at a time) to Slovakia and Ukraine, that is the situation.

  • gypsys were nomad, folks without state... and all ancient rituals, dances are known to them, they were always present in everyday life of europe troughout the history... today, in my country, croatia, they are just crooks, thiefs, and no gooders....unfortunately.....

  • EgbesuJuju2010

You never lived among them, that's why you cannot understand why they are hated. What you see on youtube is only 5% of them.

    God bless their artistic culture.

  • @Lemkowicz What I know is there is good and bad in everyone. I knew a Roma from Ukraine and his family was full of hospitality every time I visited. In my country we have a saying " it is conditions that make a crawfish bend" I love Roma culture and really do not want to consider stereotypes. If we always follow stereotypes we wold probably hate every minority group.

  • @EgbesuJuju2010

Yes, the force that make the Gypsy Folk "bend" is very great, in many countries in Europe.

  • @Lemkowicz

Yes, I keep hearing this sort of thing from many people.

My experience from living in among many societies in various countries is that any group of people can become bad, when they are treated badly. I saw one society of people suddenly change for the better when the laws and the situation in that country raised their opportunities for work at good wages.

  • How can such a beautiful colorful people be so hated. Long Life and prosperity to all Roma for having the courage to be different. By the way is Romney a Roma and I wonder if he will admit it if he is?

  • @EgbesuJuju2010 Romney is wife :) I'am a Czech republic gipsy ;).. Thanks for writing such a nice comment

  • Anyone else see that little kid dancing?

  • Love Roma people and their dancing:)))))))

    Love and respect from Serbia:))))

  • @Trinity7054 Pozdrav iz Los-Angeles-a

  • megmondá nekem valaki ha annyira utálják a magyarok a cigányokat mért mindig arra mulatnak és utánozzák őket a jó hangulatért?mért nem a saját stílusukra mulatnak?Ja,hogy olyan nincs is?!

  • I hope people keep teaching and learning traditional stuff like this, so it doesn't fade away.

It is so beautiful, and it's what makes the world exciting.

(I mean,, when the entire population on Earth starts dancing like they do on MTV - it gets boring)

  • Un v********** alla mia evolutissima e civilissima Italia, e alle finte dive nostrane, prive di un briciolo di femminilità e assenti.

  • This wasn't sexy. I was mislead! I am deeply disappointed.

  • @Euterpe001 - I thought it was very sexy..........

  • ügyesek!!!

  • Ezen mi a sexy????

  • So BIGNIKKOSPW just because its not the same as American Roma dancing its not Roma dancing? I didn't realise the USA was the leading authority on all things Roma. I might be wrong....

  • Haha! The US is the leading authority on everything!! ;)

  • @larry76 actually this flamenco dance style is not a Roma or eastern European gypsy culture. Its from the iberian Spanish or portugese gypsy or kale. They never have called themselves Roma although they are gypsy romani people. They dont even speak the same dialect as the eastern european gypsy but are romanies non the less like the British gypsies Welsh Kale and English Romanichal, and german sinti romanies. All of these groups have never called themselves Roma.

  • @seonidh thank you for this

  • @bellamoniker35 no problem, I am a Romanichil myself and part of the western branch of the romani people. We never called ourselves Roma, we Romanichil, Welsh kale, Spanish kale and French Manouch are off the Sinti people who are cousins of the Roma and still Romanies. When people call all romanies the politically correct term "Roma" that would be like calling labeling all Christians as Protestants. We respect the Roma but are a different branch of the same ethnic tree.

  • that is not actual Roma dancing in America is is very different

  • (Bignikkospw) Here in Europe, Their are meny types of Romany, Roma. Rom dance, That is a Hungerian style dance, In Andalucia ( Spain) it is Differant again, Cheek out Turkish Gypsy Dance (on youtube) cheek out "Reyhan" Turkish Rom Belly Dance, also on you tube to give yourself some idea of the diversity of the dance.

  • they are connected to indian roots in india

  • any place where I can find out more about this? If they're roots are indian why are thier dances sooo different from indian dancing? just curious?

  • becuz wat kind of gypsies they r from, india was wer our ansestors came from but now we r all separated apart in all differnt countries and we pik up som traits from da country wer from now..lol?

  • @cherokiimslm

They're originally from the indian subcontinent (south asia) who migrated towards the west into europe and some parts of the middle east around the 11th century. But because they were so isolated from their point of origin they eventually started assimilating the culture around them over the centuries. Which is why despite some few similarities the modernday romani culture and language is now very distinct from the modernday indian culture and language.

  • @BIGNIKKOSPW Let us see a post of American Roma dance.

  • ozt ezek hol cigányok?:-s

  • pedig azok.a kassai Romathan színház.

  • fúúúúúúúúúúúúj náj láso....

  • and it is not nothing strange about that.. but your dancing is so beatiful, and it makes me anvy your freedom when it comes to dancing!!

  • why is it such a large difference betviin (please excuse my english writing, i am not so good at it, as you can see! hope you can understand me anyways...) where was I... difference between another countrys gipsys and us the finnish gipsys? i wish we also could dance like you do, but our culture says no, because we are not allowed to show naked arms or legs, not to men and elderly people. but we are used to it from the very beginning
