I don't think it's overkill on the choice of that relay. I've noticed that since the relays have been made in china and mexico the contacts and the relay in general don't last as long. So choosing a higher amp relay w/ heaver contact points is a good choice.
great video mikie, do you have any more videos on relays and how they are wired? cuz i got an old furnace with combination fan limit switch, relays and ignition control unit.thanks
@bichazo2001 That can be hard to diagnose without seeing it. However on some older furnaces there is a device mounted on them that if it reaches a certain high temp it will turn the blower on until it cools off. I've seen atics get hot enough to turn the blower on until it cools off the sensor by running for a while. Without seeing your system though I can't say for sure. Take care.
@bsander135 That's simple! The installers/manufacturers of the house/AC were cheap bastards! (grinning) It originally had foam filters on it but I chuncked them in favvor of something better. I haven't bothered (yet) to buy the filter bas unit for the thing and insall it. (LaZy!)
@V8Jagnut lol yah, I told myself I needed to get a toothbrush out to get the sides clean (but obviously haven't done it yet, heh)...... it's due again, been a few years. :>
@mikie2501 lol i run my own business cleaning coils and i found in a residential application they need to be cleaned every 6 month of service. and commercial units every 3 month. (depending on conditions). clean it and you will feel better.
Drain pan is slightly out of level, no doubt. Hard to guess exactly where the drippage is occuring if the pan isn't cracked. Remove the triangular plate at the front of the A coil to inspect it from the inside. Otherwise, I suspect condensation dripping off the test stub of the suction manifold.
I like the Add-A-Fuse kit (two 1/4" spade connectors and a 3A ATC fuse). Inexpensive and it works!
A funny thing about trademen is that, when there's problems on other peoples equipment we get it fixed asap. But when it comes to our own equipment we seem to be displace to do the job, and we leave it for awhile.
Wow that really is a tight spot ,Damn I would have a hard time gettin my fat paws in there !!! LOL
You may want to shop -vac funk out first, could be makin a little dam ?Did you slap a level on it ? Could you lift coil enough to , put a S-slide or Drive-cleat on right side , maybe give just a very very slight slope ? Just throwin it out there ... ?

could you explain to me the reasoning behind you placing the filters on the side of the evap coil? i've never seen that.

I prefer having a filter back return grill so I can put the filter inside of the house. Cool peek at your a/c.

By the way, how do you clean your type of evaporator without taking it out? Only spray the outside and hope the cleaner drips toward the inside?

What is the sensor on the supply air side of the evaporator coil?

Get a cut to fit Hogs Hair filter and place it behind the louvered door panel and throw those coil filters out.
Take care.

Oh yeah. I could fabricate a filter rack for that air handler. Easy.
