  • It is not a germ cell tumor.

It is a transitional cell tumor. The epithelial cells are consist nests of cells resembling transitional epithelium of the urinary bladder. The nuclei are round or oval and have small nucleoli and a characteristic feature of the Brenner tumour is a longitudinal nuclear groove, called " coffee bean"

  • no it can be both called a germ cell and a surface as it can arise from urogenital epithelium trapped in the germinal ridge during embryogenesis.. am i right???????

  • u r right!

  • why did you classify the brenner tumor as a germ cell tumor. doesn't it drive from surface epithelium.?

  • i was going to ask the same thing. i found it classified as an epithelial tumor in my pathology textbook.

  • ok.....poor
