  • Well, obviously. You might as well say it is different from the Nick Cave version. They are different songs. The only similarity is they are all about the same character and roughly the same story

  • Dave van Ronk did a version, very close to this.

  • Yeah, Van Ronk does the Furry Lewis version, and I also like Mississippi John's version, as well as the Grateful Dead's (again, totally different song). But hands down, the Van Ronk version kills...nothing better than that.
