he may have won it but he didn't deserve it. he's an asshole to work with, he has no respect and he just isn't good enough to be on the borg warner trophy. what a shame.
opinions are like assholes bro, everybodys' got one.there is no question that he had the talent to be a legend here. he chose to jump from series to series and cemented his legacy as a really good jouneyman driver. he never WANTED to go to indy. his asswipe car owner put him there. his goal was to use indy(which he did)as a stepping stone to his hearts desire, formula 1. NOW LOOK AT HIM. driving a 3400 pound dumpster around finishing mid pack. the ONLY time he is spoken of with any reverance----
pt.2:----is when nastycar is lauding him as a "multiple times chapmion" from formula 1. what a fucking joke! thier suckin his ass dry and as soon as he runs his mouth at the wrong person or runs low on sponsor dollars they'll cast him adrift. right now, he lends creedance to that bullshit "diversity" program they like to wind hump all the time. i stick by my statement, he didn't deserve the win. people who love the series and stay the course should have thier face on that trophy. fuck em!!
Be that as it may, I still think he's a good driver, just sold out to NA$CAR. Plus with his somewhat volatile temperment, he fits right in. . .Let him stay there as far as I'm concerned.
@yargh92 ahhhh...fuck you dude. i don't have to follow him. he's the danica patrick of nascar. a single win....a few poles....a bunch of seconds. SO WHAT?! he'll be a story when he tucks tail and goes back to indycar or gets pushed out of "stock car" racin'. montoya had the talent to be a world champ. not just a nascar race winner.i have no respect for the guy because he fucked it all away trying to man handle michael schumacher. piss off dilkus.
WAS one of the best drivers. He still has talent, but his temper gets in the way too often. He will never get on a great team with that temper. What car owner who can attract any top driver would pick a driver that purposely wrecks cars.
yeah I know what your saying, but I rekon, has JPM won an F1 championship, he would have matured as a driver and moved up to another level, because he was good enough
That would be a slight inprovement over the existing Dallara/Honda show. I have one of these 'coffe table' type books called "Indycar" by Roger Huntington, which was published in '94 and, as a technical illustrated history of all the various cars that raced at Indianapolis up to that time, is one that can be reread many times over. One see all different engineering approaces to building an oval track racecar over the years.
While the existing cars are admittedly normally aspirated flat bottom fast, there's just something about this current "cookie cutter" philosophy that takes a lot of the allure out of the annual event.
He Almost Won The Allstate 400 At The Brickyard This Year!!!!!

Right. Dominating in a race in a car and series he drove 1 time against Indy veterans is an undeserving win.
Your statement is probably one of the most ridiculous I've ever read.

@penske13 "opinions are like assholes bro, everybodys' got one" - you sure are proof of that! And clearly haven't followed JPM in Nascar.

JPM is one of the very best drivers in the world, it's a shame he didn't win the F1 title, I'm sure then he would have stepped up another level

The innovation under USAC that made Indy what it is stopped in '95.

Hopefully, Panoz and Lola will be allowed to make new indy cars. Montoya had the best team in the 2000 Indy 500 by a country mile.
