Javed Miandad was very unorthdox, but was very very technical batsman. he'd a better eye on the ball and was an goo timer of the ball, was very innovative and could play shots ALL AROUND the ground, he was an excellent runner between the wickets and always performed his best under pressure. he was a specialist batsman. He was a 4 player, not an orginal 6 player. Whereas, dhoni is a hitter, he can only hit 6's.

@RDrulez100: If you are going just by stats, I think its hard to choose between them. Miandad's stats are definately better in Tests and Dhoni's are better in ODIs.
Also, this video is NOT about the quality of the players necessarily. The commentator is only making a comment on their styles and how they are similar.

@RDrulez100 haha thats a very weak statement. Yes dhonis ODI stats are better but 85% of his runs come from flat tracks of asia. All of his 100s have come in asia he has yet to score in england, australia, south africa etc. Out of the 8 100s that miandad has made, 4 have them were made outside asia. maybe dhoni in the future will score on difficult pitches but in the mean time javed miandad is 10 times better than dhoni

@RDrulez100, If you are talking about the STATS thing, then you should also count the time frame factor into count.. Dhoni can be higher in stats, he is a good player but you should also see the way cricket was played on those times. Javed was one of the best of those times.

In my opinion, there's no comparison. Javed Miandad was very unorthdox, but was very very technical batsman. he'd a better eye on the ball and was an goo timer of the ball, was very innovative and could play shots ALL AROUND the ground, he was an excellent runner between the wickets and always performed his best under pressure. he was a specialist batsman. He was a 4 player, not an orginal 6 player. Whereas, dhoni is a hitter, he can only hit 6's.

dhoni is good but miandad was one of the class acts, just look at the numbers and when you do remember at that time bowlers and pitches were far more testing than they are now, even then Javed has Dhoni beat. And if that doesn't convince you ask your dad who is better, he'll tell you. Comparing Miandad to Dhoni is like comparing Shoaib Malik to Sunil Gavaskar, just because they have a similar cover drive doesn't mean Malik is in the same class.
